Have you tested any of the android 8 boxes such has the H96 Max+ ? I just wonder how to change to color theme because it messes with Plex. :(

That is not the default launcher for the mxq pro much less other android box's with lollipop or marshmallow os. I have used countless different android tv box's and not one has had the clean memory on the home screen. It would be VERY nice if they did but the only one that I have found that comes standard with the clean as an icon was the tictid t10 mini and tictid doesn't make that version anymore. So if yours comes standard I would LOVE to know where you got this one...

I am testing Apex Launcher with X96Max and got it working decent. I can not figure out how to get the apps to show on the dock....can not figure out how to drag and drop. Connected a mouse but I still can not drag...any help??
My MXQ Pro's default music player app is fairly good and works well with just the provided remote.
However, one feature it REALLY needs is an alphabetic mode for both artist and album listings where ONLY the letters of the alphabet are shown and only after a letter is clicked on will all of the songs or artists starting with that letter be shown. The huge list shown for the artist or album list modes they way the app works now makes it far too slow to find a particular song or artist in that long list.
Another needed feature is some kind of SEARCH function.
Are there any other Android music player apps that have features like those which would still work well just using the MXQ Pro's remote control?

Yes I agree, it is a great launcher.
I have the TV Launcher app on my MXQ Pro , however every time it boots up from standby I get (Waiting /Close app) and if I say waiting, I can wait up to 2 min before I can navigate to any tiles, are you aware of this problem?
Sounds like a compatibility issue. Try a different launcher to see if you get the same issue.
@Chigz I recently purchased a KB2PRO with 7.1 launcher. No matter what I do I cannot close apps without going through the settings. Is this a proprietary thing to do with the Yokatv launchers? There is not task bar or anything. Alt + tab does not work, nothing has worked so far. Also it's worth mentioning that the play store seems very different than what I am used to seeing on many boxes. Very restricted.. I know this is off topic guys and I didn't really want to post here, but I am at the end of my rope here with this YokaTV KB2 PRO. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Try doing a full factory reset from settings.
what are some fun games to play with this? like fallout shelter or something?
if you're into Zelda type of games, you can play "Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas", if you're into retro games, there's SNES, MD, N64, PSP emulators you can run in there.

It depends what your looking for, when I'm using my box with a remote and just watching stuff, I prefer to use Simple TV launcher or TVLauncher, because they both let you navigate nicely with just the remote control.
When I need to do some tasks, copying, editing, uninstalling software etc i prefer Apex and attach a keyboard and mouse. So I have all 3 installed and switch between them accordingly.
i notices you have an emulator on the box.
what gamepad ( game controller) do you use?
i havent been able to find a remote i can use on this box.

I could not find a game pad that would work on the MXQ. Then I read somewhere that wireless game pads with the USB dongles do work well on the MXQ. I have been using a USB keyboard to play.
The Xbox360 wired controller works with a lot of games. And apprently the old Nintendo game controller works too. Ive had controllers that claim to work an the box didnt even recognise it. The Xbox doesnt work with all games but some work right away others can have keys reconfigued.

Hello, i have a mxq pro 4 k with android 7.1.2. When I want to install apex launcher (or nova launcher) via play store it says that its incompatible. When I download and install it from apkmirror my launcher stops all the time when I click on it. So it is not working. Do you have an idea why?
The new android 7.1.2 and 7.1 is not compatible with nova launcher and some others, this will be fixed by nova launcher when they release an update.

No I dont recommend ROMS, as you will end up bricking the device. I would try a few different launchers to see if any work.

the nova and apex launcher keeps stopping. im using mxq pro 4k
Custom launchers have issues with android v 7.
Mxq pro is garbage always acts up. I have the tx3 mini interface is nice and works smooth.
