I love this kind of Yugioh, it all feels balanced and anyone has a chance to win from the looks of it. I was only able to get one before their jump in price, sure wish I was able to pick up 2-3 more so that I could use them to make more consistent decks for casual play among friends.
imagine you realize in the last game that x-head cannon is not a union monster but you've special summoned it as if it were a union monster at least a dozen times throughout the tournament haha

There is one thing that stands out from Yu-Gi-Oh content on youtube (in my opinion) and that is any type of "home tournament or build/ get a random of meta deck and battle with it

It reset to the field whenever the opponent Special Summon an Extra Monster from their Extra Deck. But, it banished after it was played afterward.
SAM would gladly smell the odor outta those cards.

I just started to get into Playing Yugioh and this was my first starter deck in a long time! Definitely the highlight of my Christmas!!

This brings back memories! Me and my brothers used to play our own battle city game in the time when the battle city arc was playing on tv. We didnt want to break up our own decks so what we did is we used around 1000-2000 cards from my youngest brother that werent used by him in his main deck and we divided them among us. I think we even arranged them randomly into booster packs and everyone got to choose one turn wise. Then everyone build a deck and each time one had won against another the winner got to take one card from the loser and add it to his cards. We used duel disks to play. We proceeded this game for weeks or so and sometimes start all over again, shuffling everything up again. It was so much fun because we were playing cards, decks and strategies that we would otherwise never use (and they wouldnt stand a chance against our main decks bc those were full of high tier cards) and we didnt always have all the mainstream cards (must have) in our decks so we had to improvise more. Needless to say our main decks werent allowed in the tournament. Also we had 3 fake egyptian god cards, everyone of us would get one of them at the beginning of the tournament and they had all the effects from the anime as accurately as we could think of
the guy I'm talking to likes Yu-Gi-Oh so I'm watching videos and trying to learn so I can play with him :)

the way i see it about the union thing, its just as important for your opponent to understand card rulings and what can and cant be done. if you got away with this in an official yugioh tournament and your opponent missed it as far as im concerned its fair game.

Cant blame you for thinking X-head cannon was union. Hes like needed to start some of the fusions going. That's why I'd run the painful choice?(whatever it is that let's you add a vanilla to your hand) so I can get to him and tiger jet quicker.
In the first launch often times there were unions but there were 'companion' pieces. Dark Blade and his two dragons for example. Just latter in the game we got less normal monsters and people got more used to Burning Beast and Freezing Beast plays and to be fair you can't be a normal union since union need their text box or could be exploited with Gemini defense tactics if you just treat it so that anything with union has the bae effect of equipping. Not to mention you would see more plays with things like Release Restraint as dumping your normal monster too destroy their backrow would be as effective as it was in Duel years ago when I first played.
They feel like they would work better as union monsters since they combined with each other for there fusions

I haven't played yugioh in 12 years, turned to MTG but watched a video that you guys uploaded about a year ago on how it needed multiple formats, well this weekend i bought Speed Dual Battle City Box and it is a hit. Took it to game night and played with 7 others, it was a big hit and even introduced my friend's wife to it, so add 9 more people onboard the Speed Duals
y'all forgot that trap monsters no longer occupy the spell/trap zone when they are summoned as monsters by their own effect

There are so many decks to make from this box, so much fun. I play with the rule that you draw 20 random cards and can exchange as many as you want for another card (once) then you choose a relevant Skill card to finish the deck. It's often trash but when you get off a decent 2 or 3 card combo it's awesome, feels like I'm using the original starters from back in the day lol
Paul for your worst card series I recommend u try a card named fenrir. This card has a effect similar to yata I want to see if u guys can pull off a fenrir lock

I know this vid is old but I do hope you guys to a few more house tournaments like this. This was really fun to watch, and I gotta be honest that back and forth between the Magnet Warriors and the XYZ Union monsters was my favorite match, def gave me Yugi vs Kaiba vibes

@@Kaptain_Wario it's ironic how they made a video talking about why no new players get into the game and this is why... Even pros who have been playing for over a decade can't keep shit straight, the game is so convoluted sometimes with 10,000+ cards legal to use, old effect wording, erratas, missed timing, "once per" effects, inherent summoning conditions, link arrows and columns, theres just SO much to remember that even the best players miss things.
@@Burger_pants I watch this channel because those serious “professional” duels are boring as hell. They make 500 moves per turn, and it just doesn’t even remind me of yu gi oh. This channel is actually entertaining and I can follow along with what they’re doing, even if it isn’t always correct
@@vergodagoat you think battle city draft format is like modern meta yugioh? nah it's just a very basic mistake and I simply commented that he down-played how much of a difference it made, i wasn't calling him out just saying "hey dude, that's not really accurate" I personally would have maybe replayed the game if i straight up won because of it.

I don't play Yu-Gi-Oh, I only ever watched the anime series when I was younger, but no matter what game, there is something about challenging your friends and always improving through those challenges that make you a better person and player, I love that vibe
