The small lever is a neutral finder. Its whole purpose is to bring the gears into neutral be it high or low. Very cool and useful feature. Specially when you need to shift from top gear to bottom real quick.
during start u need to decompress the engine in order to start the old RE's...once decompressed...it starts with an easy kick easily at 3:55 you can see he decompressed and started the bike which made it easy and also never accelerate while starting...as it can make the kick come back with a lot of force
You need to decompress it and then kick start it. There is the decompresser button on the left handlebar. Otherwise it's a nice catch bro used to a cast iron 4 speed
Stock carb is mikuni brand and made in japan very costly and rare. However there was a little issue with floating pin vide which the bike giving trouble due to over. Floating pin is easily available within cost of 70 to 80 rupees. Just replace it and please don't throw/discard old carb😅
Gears 15000/- lagega left sidwe ho jaayega with 5 speed gear box , thts the advantage in any old RE you can convert Gear and to left side if you want and 4S gear box can be changes with 5S gearbox
Bhai , AVL engine mein koi problem ni thi bas mechanic acha ho toh tappet noise ni aata hai , and AVL was stopped because compared to CI Engine its thump was considerably low ,and after 2000-2009 i guess RE used AVL engines but because of the govt pollution norms and less popularity it switched to UCE engine (in 2010)- less sound by using backpressure in exhaust , but AVL Engine is the best RE Engine - its fuel efficient , it got left side gears , it can operate your RE without battery
I too use to own 2001 machismo model,but I was not satisfied with the model, It was in the market for approximately 2 yrs only and later they obsolete it,in my bike there was a problem that after few kms when engine is heated than pickup goes down and clutch was Also behaving different in jam

The new carb is not a Machismo 500 carb, it's either a CI 350 or CI 500 carb, hope your mech tuned it properly and not just install it also please ask your friend to keep the old carb properly, it's an Italian carb. Very smooth bike.

Still waiting for the day when we’ll finally understand that it’s not the silencer but the engine itself which produces the thump. I am seriously sick and tired of all the pseudo bullet heads who install a fancy noise polluting hollow pipe which looks like a silencer that couldn’t sound anymore foreign to an actual thump of a bullet. It’s time we face the bitter truth, the thump DIED with Cast Iron and AVL engines. No UCE engine with any hollow pipe shaped like a silencer in this god damn world can ever sound like “the thump” we know and love. So either learn to live with the stock silencer or just don’t buy a modern bullet.

I too own an machismo its performance is much better than older ci engine.
The only problem i too face is of caburator and the rubber damages easily.
