Siddharth Lal, MD of RE. His passion and love for motorcycles and Royal Enfield in particular is solely responsible for the amazing growth and resurgence of this brand across the world.
What a man!!
yes siddharth rode RE bikes everyday for finding imperfections and he took feedback of riders to improve the bikes @@FreddieDobbs
He also has great vision and leadership qualities. I used to be a Royal Enfield hater when they only had the bullet and classics, they were pathetic in terms of quality, from there I now own the new Himalayan 450. They made great strides in quality and now have really good products.
Yes... Freddie and the "smoakvlogs"...
Without disrespect to the passion, talent and achievements of Mr Lal, it should be added his family owned the RE parent when he became CEO at 26, and attributing the success solely to him definitely disregards the RE employees building the bikes. Peace
The young man showing you around was brilliant, another fab video from you both.
Really nice guy indeed.
RE hires based on enthusiasm. Technical knowledge is second step. They have amazing interview process
The 250 with the red tank, is the original Continental GT. I bought a new one in 1966.
Wow sir❤
You own a heritage sir
The Royal Enfield GT 250 was the first ever factory built Cafe Racer.
i brought a second hand one, the fuel tank was fibre glass...
The dust is orange because the earth in Goa is so full of iron ore. The jungle landscapes you drive through are literally rusting. Just another thing that makes that part of the world so wonderfully unique.
Just out of curiosity, are there any health risks breathing that air with particles of iron ore?
@@DNarcisoo No health risks, since the red color of the soil comes from a high percentage of clay. Small quantities of Iron oxide is also present, but its negligible.
@@DNarcisooNo health risks, otherwise a large population would be having cancer/ashtma! In India many places have such orange/red soil, because of iron ore.
It's a very fertile soil too
I would take the £6 bike back and rent one of those £10 bikes. I think Monica would approve.
Yep. Sometimes, you have to remember that you have a lovely lady sitting on your pillion seat.
Get one with tread on the tyres.
This place is absolutely incredible. It makes me want to go to India to pay a visit. Very nice people there too. Best regards from Brazil.
Please come soon... ❤
You are welcome
Goa will be right down your alley.
Freddie, I still don't know how Monica managed to keep a straight face through your "expert kickstart routine". She's a keeper!!! ❤
yea move the bike back and forward to help the gears mesh !
Freddy will not understand that, too complex.
Let the clutch out a little. Then give it a go.
It's like he's new to bikes sometimes - cracks me up 😂
My day is not complete with out a Freddie and Monica video. I sit down with my wife and three girls and we love watching you guys. Love from Bonnie Scotland
Agreed… they are a great team
Freddie, you've done it now.
I just booked flights to Goa for later in the year.
You are a bad influence 😮
Ayyy, Goa is my hometown 💜 I've been in Canada for almost a decade, and used to think of it as an "upgrade" but I've been humbled over the years, and soon I'll leave back to Goa for good. There's nothing like it. The simple life, humble people, everything is affordable, tons of healthy plant food / fruits, the beaches, the love from stray animals. I thought I was depressed for many years, with vastly unaffordable rents, taxes, slaving away in Canada... But after spending a few months in Goa recently, motorcycling, exploring, and living life, I realized the formula for happiness is so simple. 🌴🥥🐶🐮🌊 A motorcycle, a hobbit home, an adventure, and a stress free location. I love your passion brother, and how your wife sweetly films and geeks along with you. Subscribed!
ur making good choice.. you cant beat the weather
You aren't the first & certainly not the last, who thought grass was greener on the other side!
But many NRI are hesitant to accept the reality. Why? Because they will loose their face, for bragging endlessly, while also making fun of their motherland! Karma is a bitch!
Educatuon aur cultural investment kare India... Aur jaake kaam kare Canada, US, aur UK ke liye. Waah. 😀
@@Rahul_Singh100Actually, I was born and raised in the Middle East, and did my whole schooling out of India (NRI). I have never earned even 1 rupee in India. But when I return to India all my CA$ will bring a large amount of INR to India's economy and help raise the GDP, unlike the type of Indians you're discribing.
I'm still Goan, and never lost touch with my culture. Goa is my home, because most of my family is there. I traveled to India every year. I learned Hindi myself, because I didn't want to lose touch of my culture (even though I cannot write). I appreciate India more than many desi Indians because I know the dream of "living abroad" is a hoax and a scam. Life is depressing here, people are cold, everything is expensive. The greatest luxury what people take for granted in India is time, and simplicity. Abroad you have no time, and life is complicated. Sorry for giving you the wrong impression.
@@AaronMetallion "When i wil" is too far fetched thing to boast about... GET OUT OF this habit of boasting what u havent even done and achieved. 😀
You just have to move the bike back and forth while pressing the clutch, to free the gear shifter.
Ahhhhh thank you🙌🏻🙌🏻
Exactly that line i was going to tell to Freddie.....
That's how we Indians free the gear shifter...
Bruh the guy at the service centre, sure does know his stuff, passionate and knowledgeable 🔥🦅🦅
What an amazing dealership and cafe. Goa looks so interesting, you've convinced me to visit. I think I've persuaded my wife also, she's checking out accommodation prices now! I would love to see you try out the new Himalayan.
Not a perfect season to visit Goa though.
@@kshitijpande8288 Stupid. Let them come and experience it for themselves.
Do the Royal Enfield event in November, best season to go too.
Not a perfect season to visit Goa.
This is season to visit Himalayan states like Himachal pradesh, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Kashmir, Sikkim.
I stumbled across this place today, passed by, turned around, and stopped. I've never seen so many RE bikes in one place, pristine to well knackered!
I wanted to take a photo but thought I simply can't get them all in....
I think I'll pop back again for another look.
The ceiling of the bike lounge was beautiful ❤️
It's 30yrs since I was in Goa with the family on holiday, never thought of going back until I watched this video, excellent, I've currently got a Meteor and a Hunter in the garage so it's perhaps a fitting long distance pilgrimage.
I visited the Royal Enfield store in Bathinda Punjab province. The folks in the store were incredibly welcoming like this chap. The prices were so reasonable compared to the Canadian stores. The bikes were almost 50% of the cost in Canada. Just shows how much we are ripped off in the western world., one thing RE will have to watch… is out pricing the local Indian folks in search of conquering the western world markets. We would see folks ride up and get their tires switched in like 30 minutes…here you need to book an appointment like a month in advance….
What a fantastic place that Royal Enfield cafe is , reminds me of my old 1960's 350 bullet I used to have , great series Freddie and Monica !
What a great passionate dealership. There are many dealerships in UK with faux plastic history slapped on them, but this is the real deal.
As a Royal Enfield fan that is pure heaven, so different to the UK, utterly awesome. Thanks for sharing this fantastic experience with this amazing video 👍👍
A dream spot for Royal Enfield fans, I’m amazed you resisted swapping your old basket case RE for something a bit fancier Freddie 😊
I’ve formed a very strange attachment to my tatty old 350. It makes no sense, but I don’t want to swap it🤷♂️
@@FreddieDobbs funny isn’t it how we get attached to the underdog! Lol Really enjoying your trip 👍
@@FreddieDobbs I thought you might , wouldn't mind betting Monika disagrees😂
If it starts, moves under its own steam, stops and lights it's way at night it most definitely isn't a basket case.
@@andrewallen9993 IIRC, Monica has to use her phone's flashlight as their headlight at night time because the bike's light isn't fit for purpose. Or something like that.
I’m not even a biker…. It’s still great watching.. tremendous stuff… you are the next top gear presenter…. Good positivity, honesty . …. Funny. …. More please 👍
5:56 These two are the royal enfields famous RSA (Road Side Assistance) bikes which the guy later talks about. Imagine feeling inferior to the bike that came to rescue you. Classic Royal Enfield(pun intended).
There's a fine line between Patina and Wreck ... I'm with Monika! ... You have both created the ultimate RE video , for all other You Tubers who obsess on the brand it's game over ! 😂
Who are people talking about. I dont see anyone else other than him in the video . Where is monica. Please provide time stamp
The pants look great Freddie!
Too short!!!
Nice pants,,,, where's the flood?
That's giving him a great look. @@guyrose2239
Half mast,who is dead?.😊
Lucky guys, the pair of you. Would love to be having lunch at that cafe right now. India is a country I’ve dreamed about visiting for a long time. Well done for bringing such great content Freddie and Monica
The RE GT 250cc with clip ons racing seat and beautiful Red Tank was a real eye catcher in the 1960’s and was the dream of many young boys. One of the local Ted’s rode one past our house every day. I looked on in envy!
Was it called a Crusader?
@@neilurquhart8622 Don’t think so?
used to see a new one in our local small town showroom . very sporty in those days . admired through the shop window .
Freddie, your enthusiasm for RE is infectious, specially in this vid. I used to have a Meteor so completely get your affection for the Classic 350. I've since moved on to other bikes but I do sometimes miss the lethargic thump that encourages the rider to take it slow and just enjoy the ride.
It was so funny watching him trying to find neutral. I grew up with bikes that only ever had kick starts. Just rocking the bike backwards and forwards while pressing the gear changer makes it much easier.
Haha.. Its all Patina Monica.. Nice to see you having fun.😂
The rusting is common in tropical costal areas because of the salt water oxidation, its quite rapid. The sea keeps spraying micro particles we can't see it but it is good for the lungs and allergies.
Back when I was a student in the 60's, the coolest senior at our school rode a 750 Royal Enfield Interceptor with an all chrome tank. I loved the look of that bike, and seeing it at school every day as a 13 year old, it inspired me to become a rider and now I have been riding since 1968... I thought very little of Harley's after that year, always seeing that Enfield. The following year that rider bought a basket case Vincent Black Shadow and spent a year rebuilding it. Motorcycling is one of the world's best pastimes...
Now i'm definitely going to buy a Royal Enfield 😊
What a great place this is and again a video made with love by Freddie and Monica.
Keep up the good work you 2.
Oh man freddie, cool place. I had the chance to get a 1965 750 interceptor at a swapmeet in Ohio year’s ago for $1200. I fell in love with it. But a snow storm was moving in and I was there trying to sell a basket case Harley 45 to make the money I needed to pay my taxes that year. The swapmeet emptied out quick, I didn’t sell my 45 and didn’t get the interceptor. I’ve regretted it ever since. Back in the day the English Enfield 750 was a quick bike. It always amazes me no matter where you are in the world Freddie, biker hangouts are all the same. Cool bikes, booze, and a great location. Awesome
Thank for sharing great ❤
back in the day the 750 interceptor was a really powerfull bike,i was in my teens here in the u k . just left school . 75 next week .
@@johnbellamy6449 here in india every teenager dream to get RE , they sell emotions here
Soooo cool!!! Tks guys!!! Cheers from Sao Paulo… Brazil… one of the best bikes videos ever!!!
That attempt to kickstart on one go was hilarious Freddy! 😂
What a great location for any Royal Enfield enthusiasts. Great filming as usual, Freddie, and thank you for showcasing such a wonderful looking country.
Great one, thank you Freddie and Monica! I was in India for a month in January and also took a classic 350 for the whole time i was there. Perfect bike for India. Watching you struggle with neutral bring some nice memories XD
Have a wonderful holidays!
I love Royal Enfield...just can't imagine any other bike making me smile as much as they do. I love my Interceptor
One of your best ever video's - thanks
I wish we had something like this in the states.
That was a great episode and the perfect start to my Sunday. Your enthusiasm is just infectious and the RE Cafe/Dealership looks like the perfect hangout for a few hours. Buying an RE is more than buying a motorcycle it is buying into a lifestyle and philosophy and you and Monica are two of the best advocates for the brand. Stay safe and keep them coming.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing with us so many beautiful bikes, oh that Garage Cafe was amazing. hello from Texas
The enthusiasm of the tour guide was great. What a feel good video thanks Freddie and Monica the Camera genius!!
One of the most amusing (kick starter) and informative vlogs - great to see the Royal Enfield links to UK and India being celebrated
Freddie, you are still a kid at heart and that makes you special...enjiy Goa! And Monika supports you there
Subscribed. I love watching videos like this. Feels like a kid in Wonderland.
What a beautiful video man, Amazingly portrayed and carried on Camera, wonderful shots and truly an amazing place. Royal Enfield forever ❤
Just amazing Freddie, as and Interceptor owner to have a place to go to like that is a dream. Royal Enfield for me have got it spot on with pricing, quality and the human connection to the bike. The only problem is if I were there my OCD would kick in and I would be cleaning and polishing those fantastic machines for free lol. Thanks for posting!!
Freddy…. Your enthusiasm and character just fill me with joy… your love for the simple good life and your banter with Monika make thus channel my absolute number 1…. Seriously better than anything on the box! Keep enjoying India… Hope you get to the RE factory … thanks again for making my day 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳❤❤❤
Great insight into RE in India. Love your enthusiasm. Excellent video.
Another awesome video, the guy showing you around, has alot of passion
This is a superb video… great quality and making me want to get to Goa myself and jump on an Enfield. 👊😎👍
Another incredible video. Thank you for the journey!
Man, I just love your videos and your storytelling style. Top quality really!
Freddie this has got to your best video yet I think you were blown away the passion for bikes in India is amazing , I just need to get and ride if only it was like that in the Uk . Thanks for you and Monica showing your trip 😊so emotional 😢
Enjoyed that, what a chilled environment, looking forward to more updates. Ride safe.
5:43 These were brand new models called "Trials" released few years ago.
"trials" though
Enfield garage is great. The food is gorgeous , just a shame they closed the museum. Regarding your comment about the lack of British , this was caused by the TUI holiday company falling out with local hotels over unpaid bills . A great shame for some good hotels. Local Indian friends in the area say they miss the British a lot. If you stay long enough try south Goa , more laid back and with incredible scenery.
I was able to go with my dad (in his 70’s) to pick up his brand new RE 650 Super Meteor in Brisbane, Australia just a few days ago. I hope he’ll get lots of enjoyment riding this beautiful bike.
Your review was part of the lead up to him making the decision to take a test ride. Thanks Freddie and Monica.
There’s loads of great videos on TH-cam detailing the history of Royal Enfield, The Flying Flea, they invented the swinging arm rear setup, oldest manufacturer, longest production bike in history………… fantastic history, love ❤ it 🏍️👏
Hi Freddie. Your videos have given a great new different meaning to the RE and Goa.
Another amazing video! You two are quickly becoming my favorite TV show! You also are making me want to ditch my Riad King for a Classic 350!
I love these videos from Freddie, his storytelling holds your attention, and Monica knows how to film perfectly and professionally.
THANKS FREDDIE AND MONICA FOR TAKING US ON A DAY OUT YET AGAIN !!
We sit here, you do our travelling for us - Brilliant - thanks to you both.

Great stuff and I'm loving this India trip :)... roll on the next one :)
Your videos are the best! I'm going to make it to Goa one day, it looks like such a special place!
Hi , Goa looks such a beautiful chilled out place. You and Monika are creating a great series here.
Hi Freddy, the best vlog yet mate, never really been into that Royal's but after seeing the vlog and the older versions, would def have a look, well done Fred on a great vlog
Awesome stuff, enjoyed the video, thanks for it 👍
Great videos. I enjoy watching your road trip videos.
So great you can laugh at yourself! Great beginning to a great vid.
There are very few bikers in India like there are very few cyclists in Amsterdam. When everyone uses a motorcycle, nobody is a 'biker'.
Thanks Freddie for this virtual tour of the Royal Enfield dealership (Garage/Cafe) in Goa, will definitely visit it for sure on my next visit!👍
Thank you, Freddie and Mon - that was fantastic!
Very interesting place with loads of bikes in various conditions .Thanks for showing us
Your passion for the bikes is soo palpable. Kudos for the great video!
Beautiful cafe and so much RE history. Enjoy Freddie!
Awesome video❤❤❤

Hi Freddie, Good video about The RE Garage, one day will visit this one.
Beautiful Freddie your love and enthusiasm is an antidote to any malaise, I salute you Sir.
Wow,I visited that showroom in Goa just before the pandemic,The flying flea was put on the wall(I actually sat on it before they put it up on the wall brilliant l!)in there museum area, there was a number of fantastic new bikes on display around the outside seating area also they had a Trike concept bike on display too,I don’t recall the area above the bar tho? The guys there were brilliant they even gave me a few RE souvenirs, will love to revisit again one day rent a RE & go explore! Great video Freddie & Monica 👍🏻
one of my fav vids of yours freddie!!!
Hey Freddie and Monika. Great video and a real treat to see all those Royal Enfields together at the dealer. I’m with you in being partial to the Classic350. If it were only possible to buy one in India ( at Indian prices ) and bring it back home. Unfortunately gov’t reg. make it impossible. Goa looks like a very interesting place. Another tick on the to do list. Thanks for sharing. Cheers and ride safe, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Quality Freddie! Mate I'm slowly coming around to the GT Continental 650 as a firm fav. Awesome stuff!

after having watched your last two episodes, was eagerly looking forward for the next Indian episode, Mr Dobbs you got my subscribe.
They just opened a new RE dealership in Khon Kaen Thailand, scaled down version of that. The opening party was fantastic, some great bands, free burger and one free beer, hundreds there.
