I recall years ago a swarm of 'black crickets' ventured across a busy highway causing several cars to lose control at 60mph on a curvy road! Bug guts are slippery in mass quantities!!
I remember growing up in Texas we had a cricket invasion. The crickets covered the outside of our home. Some found their way in. I went to stay with a friend. The city came out and took care of them for us.
It's crazy how releasing a bunch of ladybugs is considered environmental terrorism yet owning several private jets and using them as often as you want isn't.
Michigan Dept of Ag. released Japanese lady bugs (breed more aggressively) and for about 10 or 15 years they were household pests. Now they only show up once in a while. Lady bugs eat aphids which are vampire bugs. Saves MI farmers over a $1B every year. However, unlike natives they will sometime bite. Very itchy. I have 2 bites now.
I live in southern/central Canada and I remember a few years when we had massive ladybug migrations. We had only the red ones that were cute and friendly, but then we got the yellow/orange ones that bit people. It sucked. We still have both kinds but it's not as bad as it was back then.
You can probably blame the US for that. There was a big problem down South with Aphids. The brilliant minds that be decided to import ladybugs. They were from another country so different species. We are now stuck with huge numbers of them. They stink and bite people need to stop trying to fix things this way.
Loads of people release small numbers of lady bugs as they are good for pest control. As a kid, my friends and I would go to the swamp and collect a few tadpoles to watch them morph and then take them back to the swamp. Some got away but returned most of them.
I sure appreciate you covering these animal issues on this channel. I'm an invasive species control person and I see the destruction you describe every day. A lot of people don't want to hear it and I hope they learn to have a deeper connection with nature. As in, using field guides and learning about their local ecosystem from people who went to school for that. Animal feeding causes natural areas to get the same syndrome as a duck pond park where people come to throw moldy leftovers. It's things like that which are the reason you have to drive way outside of a city to see a true variety of truly interesting living things. Human influence doesn't have to be all bad.
You keep showing geese that are NOT canada geese. You show snow geese and mallard ducks. They are not problem species. This will mislead people to possibly harm snow geese and mallard ducks. ps gfeese are seperate species from ducks.
How is this channel just funded by youtube? Serious question. Ive watched a dozen videos now and i dont think ive seen one ad. Or patreon. Or join. Or thanks button. Youre the man, wanted to thank you ❤️
you’re wrong this channel does have ads. you probably mean sponsors, this channel does accept sponsors like most channels they atleast have one sponsor. this channel probably only does this as a hobby and to spread awareness about the environment ,and current events.
You used a lot of snow geese footage when you were talking about canadian geese. Are you sure you didnt get confused between the two? I know you're allowed to hunt as many snow geese as possible during the autumn due to their overpopulation, but you need a permit for canadian geese.
The frog thing is interesting tho. About 20 years ago when I was young we had a invasion of toads in our nighboorhhood and surrounding areas. Could bearly walk for atleast a few weeks without kicking or stepping on one and the roads were just smothered in smashed dead toads. Never questioned why. We lived on the outskirts of the city near the industrial zone so kinda assumed that a good amount justade it to the pond industry's had in the area which of course had no fish. But now that I think about it wasn't long later that they started releasing brim into these man made ponds. Maybe to try avoiding that again.
This should be considered environmental terrorism or something. Completely wiping out an entire species of frog, or other native species. How could this person not know this is illegal?
Sounds like the Canadian goose problem is a hack for unlimited food. Roast duck is good and Canadian goose taste similar to regular ducks just different color skin and meat.
You can buy lady bugs to release, it's supposed to be for gardeners. There's no downside done in reasonable quantities. You know, like 5,000/acre or 10,000/hectare of farm crops. No, really no downside. The biomass is nothing. Most will die and never be eaten because they decay so fast. They become food for birds and some other creatures, but most birds/insects/frogs/etc... don't eat them. So, it's pretty much harmless. Releasing 10,000 frogs in a small space on the other hand can be devastating.
If you want to keep geese away from your property just get a bunch of artificially flavored grape soda and spray your yard with that the geese see things in ultraviolet and dont like the reflection from it they also dont like the smell
I remember the lady bug summer in the 70's, they laid on the curb in millions 😱 And canada gees has also spread to europe. In the seventies, they was a sensation. In the eighties, they was rare, but not unseen. In the nineties, they was a normal breeding bird. Now they are seen as invasive, and are a popular bird for hunters.
Humans... pooping where you eat is what dogs do . Humans aren't supposed to do this... but we do . We dump everything into the ocean and we chop down more trees than we plant.
They have started fighting insect infestation with ducks. Ducks can eat millions of insects without poisoning everything. Guess we better start eating lionfish or teach the lionfish to eat the insects. Lol
Is there even any point for those divers to be hunting the lionfish? It seems utterly inconsequential and futile since they reproduce by the millions each year.
Tbh, something equivalent to Tik tok users and thinking, you get YT creators who beg for likes 2x in a every single video even though their channel is a decade old with millions of subs
It's almost certain Lionfish in the Atlantic were released pets. I have kept Lionfish in my home aquariums. They are fantastic to look at and very hearty, easy to care for, but they do have high appetites and get very big. Since any fish or invertebrate that can fit in another fish's mouth will eventually make it's way there (this is a truth about any fish and many animals in general) Lionfish are not desirable to keep except in species isolation or with other large fish that they cannot predate on. I think a few aquarists got smaller ones that when they got bigger become more trouble than was bargained for, so they let them loose in the sea rather than rehome or euthanize it. I live in California where a tropical species of the Pacific like a Lionfish cannot survive in our cold sub-tropical water but in Florida and the Caribbean they were able to live and flourish since its also tropical water. The problem is the Atlantic lacks many of the predators that are specialized eaters of scorpionfishes (which lionfish are a member of) so their numbers grow unchecked and only held at bay be depletion of food resources for them.
If people starts commercially hunting and eating lionfish and Canadian gray goose then it won't take much long for those to reach extinction from the areas it's becoming invasive
What would happen if there was a locust or cricket swarm infestation with a frog swarm. All at the same time and place? Would they just balance each other out and we wouldn't even notice?
Sadly, the apatite war ends up in the locust's victory in that situation. They are also a lot more mobile than the frogs and will chew through larger foes like an army of stingerless ants. As the frog is busy swallowing down the one locust it has in its mouth already, 2 other locusts are already going for the frog's eyes while others are looking for soft spots to rip into. Brutal, merciless, ravenous...
And that's why tiktok should be banned. Are frogs good with expresso? How did they get an imaginary number of eggs...that wasn't already there? Sounds wrong.
Geese overpopulation? Would it be a blessing during our shortage of food time? They are good meat and rich in vitamin and nutrients. Instead of worrying, why not introduce them to where people need free food?
Tick Tock users and thinking in one sentence???...Classic that's freaking funny
I have never had tik tok but the joke is condescending for me. Both is a problem

I’m pretty sure even if he did think of it he probably wouldn’t care because this guy sounds like a moron

That neighbour must read the bible and thought , oh nooo it’s an omen , I gotta go , go go go
😂😂😂no questions asked
That was a stupid idea.
Just so y'all know, lionfish and Canadian grey goose are both delicious. Act accordingly....
Yah and Canadian geese are where Canada’s meanness goes so help Canada neutralize toxicity

I hit the like button 2 times as you asked, don't blame me
The neighbor: *seas an army of frogs approaching * ohh hell no I'm out
Over abundance , looks at humans 😢

I actually laughed out loud hahaha
Funniest thing I’ve heard from this channel in a while.
L😂L
Finally found your channel after 4 year
The white geese are not Canada geese, they are migrating snow geese, quit saying that!!! Do better research!
I love your videos keep it up❤❤❤
Nope, slurping your coffee like that, I'm out.
The Japanese and Chinese will eat lion fish first
oh great, then we'll have millions and millions... maybe hundreds of millions... of humans, thanks genius. XD
@@elanasilverman4468for what it worth it probably better that way
If Canadian geese are such a big problem, then why does the department of natural resources (DNR) regulate the hunting of them so strictly.
This could devastate an ecosystem.
I guess that makes Homosapien the worst abundant and invasive species.
Protect frogs from diseases
Woooo 🎉 loving all the content yall keep it up
Before zombies and alien apocalypse be ready to face frog apocalypse 😂
“...million Canadian Geese” um... Those were Mallard ducks >.>
You know, the Moray Eel is the only fish that I know of that can take on a lionfish
A loveliness of ladybugs.

Too many locust? Release the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal.
Yes! The coffee intro
Army is the correct name for a group of frogs.
When I was a teen there were frogs everywhere especially when it rained , that's was 50 years ago, now I hardly ever see any
I liked, i liked, i liked!!
Those "frogs' are toads, and that's how they naturally breed. Remember them in mass when I was a kid!
Sounds like the Canadian goose problem is a hack for unlimited food. Roast duck is good and Canadian goose taste similar to regular ducks just different color skin and meat.
Now I'm wondering if Peking style Goose is as good as I'm thinking it would be. Already a fan of good Peking Duck.
@@Drakonus75 maybe but some people say real Peking duck must come from the Peking duck breed. So I say give it a try.
Basically if you're a farmer you need to be an expert in all other life forms because they are coming for your crops
People from tik tok are not allowed to like this video
The frogs just needed a few roads around them, frogger won’t frog to long lol
bro watched mr.bean
Technically any type of of grasshoppers can become locusts if the conditions are just right
When the title said ‘It broke nature’, I was thinking something else….
A guy in UK did this with bedbugs. He released them on busses trains and the Tube
Run the likes up for theveee!! 😂👍
Reno, Nv even had some Morman crickets in our city as well
LIKED!
Canadian geese are truly 'some serious shit'
Nice but did some do anything about Gates releasing mosquitos all over the world? Is for a friends homework

A guy from the future went back to this time, took the frogs and then went back to Moses time.
One of those TikTok users still does that frog idea for idk how many years now and has posted that its this years goal is to hatch even more frogs 😅
How do we stop it , this is madness
The government does it.
Surprised humans aren’t on this list.
I have 2 burning questions....
Why are humans not part of the overpopulation story?
Why are Canadian geese way expensive in grocery stores?
😊
Pretty cool channel
I like how you like to report on these things. Do the Pandora moth, I've seen them 4 times in Oregon. They are so awesome.
Not even an honorable mention for humans on the over abundant species list?

there must be somethings that predates on poisonous lion fishes in their native habitats since they reproduce so fast
There are, and in fact even where they're invasive there's some animals that are learning how to eat them.
I bet the eggs themselves are food for others in their habitat, something that can get passed the poison.
At least the geess can be eaten.

Ladybugs, only eat aphids. Aphids do not benefit plants at all, they only harm plants. Nothing wrong, with ladybugs at all.
I’m still hopeful that we can eat ourselves out of the lion fish and sea urchin invasions
You could include a large number of humans with those animals.
