- Kingston Town’s win in the 1980 Cox Plate might not be his most famous, but it is arguably his best!
Malcolm ‘Miracle’ Johnston was on The King when he proved he wasn’t just a Sydney champion!

The King's 1982 Melbourne cup loss still hurts me every Cup day, 😢😢😢.
A beautiful description of a fantastic horse and you mate one of the best jockeys for jockey talent Australia has ever seen. Those time for me at Randwick are unforgetable thanks to the era that you and I belong in Thanks again Malcolm.
Great memories
I would have said it didn’t seem KT took the final turn that great. Seemed to come wide a bit - but Malcolm certainly knows better than me 😂 the only disappointing thing was that the MV straight is 50 yards not 400 - if the straight was another 200 yards - KT might have set a world record winning margin. He was motoring at the end of the 1980 plate absolutely destroying them
" We're gunna see the real one today "
Give winx a beating i think cause the king raced against much better horse then winx did.
Yes Winx beat the same horses and alot were stablemates
You got it in 1.
Winx hasn't beaten anything good. KT was beating horses that had won Melbourne Cups.
1982 Melbourne Cup was very significant for you too. Went too early you flog, Kingston Town should of won it.
He got the Name Miracle Mal,Not because he was a 🌟 he was a Battler He can thank that Mighty Kingston Town for the Accolades he received!
This flog cost the king the melb cup
Mal was so so courupt
The past isthe past give all this away
It all comes down to the track and distance. Obviously, he would pick her up and carry her over 2400m or more but I find it hard to separate them.
Your not well give the past away look after yourself
the best horse i have seen in my 55 years of racing would beat winx every day of the week. unlike her was not kept in cotton wool
