    @6:58 the struggle is real 😆 Great vlog and info as always! I always back my reg off all the way before I turn the tank on, usually turn tank on real quick before installation of reg just to make sure no dirt on tank outlet✅ Iv had bad orings/gasket on reg inlet that got me once. Cheers

      Great tips! I definitely thought the reg was off.. that's what bloopers are for!

    LOL I had to have a chuckle the concentration on your face while tightening the regulator up, I’ve lost two kegs up to now with leaking manifold and John guest fittings crumbling. I bet you wished you’d never started the video now,least you got a beer at the end. Thanks for sharing.

    Great video! My goodness Co2 is grand! Well deserved beer at the end, Loved the out takes :) "I just want to drink beer!" My sentiments also :) I picked up a 3 valve manifold, gives some extra room to mess with the valves. Usually don't have to disturb the vales when changing tanks most of the time with a separate manifold either. Totally worth the extra investment. Rock-on Sarah!

      3 valves sounds great right about now!

    @florabrewing i just got that same kegerator. Did youndi anything to insulate the hole where the co2 line goes out?

    That curly pipe. If you twist the pipe backwards a few turns before you screw the connection on the pipe will un-curl and then be straight when tightened.
    Someone below suggests spanners, that is also a good idea. Two of the little ones, saves the knuckles.

    What happen if the knob of the regulator got loose?

  • @cdunn4799

    Assuming all things are good, clean lines, everything is settled and cold..I have foam galore from a fresh keg. I suspect the issue is my regulator...although its new. The lowest pressure it will ever read is 30psi.....it seems as if 30 means 0....is this possible? Meaning 30psi (even with tap handle open) yields no product. If I turn the fine adjustment up to 35psi (assuming that really means 5psi) beer starts to move...slow foam. If I turn it up to 40 or 42psi....it Flys out, all foam....this is the case even after turning the gas off, purging the valve and retaping. Also if I turn the fine adjustment screw counterclockwise to the point of coming out...it still reads 30psi. What is wrong?

    • @FloraBrewing
      @FloraBrewing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might have an air leak somewhere in your lines or maybe the beer is overcarbed but that seems unlikely if you can’t get it to pour unless it’s turned but to 35. This is a puzzler for sure. If you purge your regulator with it disconnected from the keg does it still read 30? That would be the true test to see if the gauge is just messed up but it seems like you’ve done what I recommend with purging and reconnecting. Maybe try a picnic tap on the keg and see if you still get the same foaming. One thing it could be is something stuck in the poppit of the keg which can lead to foam and problems getting beer out

      @cdunn4799 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FloraBrewing I'm going to say no on the air leak, because the tank guage has shown no sign of loss. The only concensus I get is that the low pressure gauge is bad. (I'm about to replace tomorrow). The question is....if the gauge reads 30, is it really 30psi?

      @delreydavid kegging is half of everything when it comes to bottling. Kegging tranfers faster, cleans faster and carbs faster. If you have more time to clean,bottle and carb, stick with it😉

    LOL, i love co2 leaks! that's why i started keeping my tank on a scale, so that i can have fun watching it go down! oh and damn, i just lost 3 gallons of beer to a leaky poppet!
    that's when i found out how to have a REALLY good time! ;) damn, and you know...i've been thinking about daisy chaning my kegs....that would really blown my mind!!
    but kidding aside, sorry to hear about your leak....i usually do a close off method....to see if any part of the system is losing pressure though, never had luck looking for bubbles...

    Hi thanks for the helpful vid. I’ve only just got my kegerator and it’s all a bit new so forgive me if this is an obviously dumb question but the hi Gauge is just sitting on the start of the red quadrant. Does this mean that the tank is getting towards empty?

    Nice job Sarah!I can see you got same regulator from Kegking... I got it for ages and still so far so good, only time to time gets cold and keeps increasing pressure up but it easy noticeable. Cheers!

    I just ordered parts to build my kegerator so this was really helpful. Can anyone tell me, if I go to fill my CO2 tank that I bought, do they just swap the tank for another one? I've heard of places that just do swaps?

    • @FloraBrewing
      @FloraBrewing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you local Homebrew store does fills they will probably not swap. If you go to someone like Air Gas or Praxair they will usually swap. It sucks when you buy a fresh tank and then get a gross one back!

      usually it's around ¼" or 6mm ID tubing. It depends on what size valves you have though. Here's a link to some gas line at 6mm : bit.ly/2HDWTdz

    Your praxair distributior should of offered a co2 regulator wrench.great job finding your leak😉Teflon sealant on your threads would help fix your leak on those threads.

      @@FloraBrewing sorry different language different country. Let's call it a non adjustable wrench or spanner. So it fits only a specific nut or bolt size. You might need 2 or 3 different sizes for your kegging. They just work so much better. Cheers😎👍

    CO2 has almost made me rage quit homebrewing on multiple occasion. I re-did all of my co2 lines, bought a new regulator, bought different clamps instead of worm clamps, I went to oetiker (stepless) clamps. And I still would fly through co2. Come to find out, I believe it was one of my kegs leaking. RAGE! But, I am still brewing.

    You should always use fresh teflon tape wrap around all threded connection, before tightening it again.Teflon tape sealant unthreded onece is useless. If it seals the joint again it's mostly luck, instead of pro attitude. Greetings from homebrewer in Poland!!!

    I keep a little soap water in a spray bottle - just a few drops of dishwashing soap in a bottle of water - it works better for leak detection - makes bigger bubbles. Star San makes little fine bubbles and you can miss a small leak. I use Duotight fittings and evabarrier lines, so chasing leaks is a fun way to spend a hour or so. CHEERS!

    • @FloraBrewing
      @FloraBrewing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's more of a 'what do I already have in a spray bottle' kind of decision

    Ah yes, CO2, my least favorite part of homebrewing. It's also important to secure your CO2 tank with a clamp or something, we had a top-heavy dual-regulator tip over the 5lb tank and leak it everywhere with no backup and the stores closed :(

    • @FloraBrewing
      @FloraBrewing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh really? I've never had that problem because my tank is pretty heavy but good to know for smaller tanks! CO2 ALWAYS runs out when the shops are closed somehow
