Love your lessons Jared..... I'm 66 years old and just starting to get a Little good at playing lead guitar. I wish you had been around when I was a teenager. Your pedagogical technique is impeccable. Thank you !
I really appreciate your lessons. Till now you have the lessons that help me a lot. You are the best teacher I met on TH-cam. Unfortunately I don't have the money to do your courses, if I had I would. But I'm enjoying your videos and learning. I don't know the best sequence to master my guitar play but im trying on my own way watching your videos on TH-cam. Thank you very much. 🙏🏿
I've been playing for ten years. Dexterity is fine, but what you did for me in the span of less than twenty minutes is incredible. I know can see how easily a 2-5-1 is to find. I owe you big time. Thanks thanks thanks!
I really like this. I do basically the same idea of "chunking" by basing things off of 3 string closed major triads. That way you get great accompaniment/2nd guitar chords while also learning the intervals.
Great approach! If you understand the logic behind the fretboard layout, all the shapes that others blindly memorize make so much more sense. It reminds me of the Matrix, where Neo is able to see through the code to the underlying reality. So glad to hear you mention chunking. I found it much easier to memorize the notes on the fretboard once I started thinking in terms of the CDE chunk and the FGAB chunk.
Your videos are just soooo great. I have learned more than I could imagine. These are the best videos that can be found for guitare. It helps understanding the guitar. Once you do, you will remember it for life. Thank you for that.
As retired Marine and 60's leftover, never really got into music theory, although I played since '64 . Now that I'm retired giving it a shot. Find it fascinating, especially the way you explain it. Alway knew about the 1-7 way of finding octave but this 5th idea makes it much easier. Thanks. SEMPER FI.
Thank you very much for the lessons! I've watched many youtube guitar tutorials and your lessons to me are the easiest to understand! I'm currently halfway through the chord construction playlist and the videos have helped a ton! Just one request, if possible, could you make a video on how to sight read better? I've been playing guitar for a couple of years but still haven't made progress when it comes to reading sheet music :(
Hello! I've watched all the videos in the playlist up to here so far. I've learned a lot. You are by far one of the best teachers out there! I just have 1 question. In this video at 2:11 You start #1 diagram. On the first set of diagram #1 I can get the next octave on the right side but not the left. Vice versa, on the second set of diagram #1 I can get the next octave on the left but not the right. Sorry if I can explain it well. You have done amazing so this is definitely an error on my part. Just wanted to see if you can clear this up for me. Thank you!
Discovering all the duplicate notes and where they were was a light bulb moment a few years ago for me, but the lightning bolt moment came this year when I tuned to P4ths and realized that without a Turdy 3rd tuning anywhere there’s less shapes and they’re all the same for a given inversion! So you could give me a 24 string guitar with 72 frets and I would know where all the notes and chords are! Thanks for posting
I’m so thankful that I found your channel Jared. I have subscribed and have benefited from your supplemental material available for download. What is the app you are using with your Apple Pencil?
What about Warmoth? They don't sell kits but you can buy bodies and necks, all the important. holes drilled, finished (painted) or unfinished and assemble them with your own electronics
Study the fretboard further with my awesome FREE chord chart called "Chords with Color": bit.ly/32UF6cQ
I love this. Gives a visual and connects the fretboard. Much better than just guessing.
This is the best channel diving deep´n easy into guitar & music theroy. This playlist is golden!

Massively underrated channel. I’ve been playing for years and I’ve learned more from this than I have from two years of on and off theory learning.
That's awesome to hear, glad you found it helpful!! Cheers, -Jared
I can’t believe this exists, incredible

This is so helpful. The visual was a fantastic way of teaching this 💯🎸👍
Loved your visualization trick. Thanks! That definitely resonates with my way of seeing the fretboard.

I'm sorry I am soooo confused when you say that the 5th is below the root. Isn't that a 4th??? Ahh
