Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Opel/Vauxhall Corsa 2019 - Update

Update 2021: The Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-E is a variant of the Corsa. Some additional tests and checks have been done to ensure that the rating of the Corsa, tested in 2019, applies to the electric variant.
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid barrier
- an offset frontal impact test, 40% of the width of the car is striking a deformable barrier
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking systems (car to car, with a pedestrian and a cyclist target), lane support and speed assist technologies and seatbelt reminders.

since the early days of the corsa, 3 and 5 doors hatches, 4 door sedans also have existed in some places and 5 door wagons too
though models today only come with 3 and 5 doors

The current series F Corsa is only available in the 5 door configuration as seen in this video.

@@robertmandl9326 same with the Peugeot 208, Volkswagen Polo and many others although the Ford Fiesta has both 3 and 5 door options.

@@thomasmason2433 Yeah, I noticed. In my hometown the Corsa is rather dominantly present; I know the Polo from my workplace. Seen a few 208s drive around, they are of course identical in their base form to the Corsa. I find it rather odd that several companies have phased out the 3-door variants. But then again I imagine the doors would be rather cumbersome on the new models - the series E Corsa already had very big doors on the 3 door variant.

@@robertmandl9326 the Volkswagen up! also has 3 and 5 door options and that concludes vehicles that can be sold brand new with 3 and 5 door options in the UK: the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen up!
With the Fiesta being a 3 door model, that can also keep producing the van variant too.

I prefer the New Look tbh I didn't really liked the old Corsas. I think the New Design looks very sporty and way more qualitative. It doesn't look cheap anymore 🙈
