Using Serato for this seems equal to calculating quantum mechanics on a piece of paper vs using Rekordbox that's equal to using a computer... Also, Flip costs about 350$ without tax, I can buy another controller for that amount! It was included with my last controller, but seeing the workflow comparison alone seems it worth to switch over. I've made a few Flip-edits, but I never use them, if they were songs in my library and not buried in a list that needs a button to press before I see them, I would use them more often. When I want an edit, I use a DAW, but it's always extra work to align the beat grid and such. I know you can record the Serato Flip-edits, but then they pass trough the mixer. They also are limited to the number of cue points and you have to remember where you are to be sure not to repeat a section too much or too little.
Great video Blakey. Didn’t even know Rekordbox had this edit feature (been under my nose this whole time). Serato flip is awesome. I use it to make clean edits in a pinch. I’ll google the lyrics of the track. Then set cues for the explicit lyric Then jump to that section and right before the word I’ll use the censor button then save it. Great job and your old tune was a vibe 😊
Serato Flip is a great! Super fast to edit songs. I use Flip to make short edits of songs that are way too long. It’s super easy to make a jump in choruses.
Great vid, also had no idea you could do this in RB. I'm a Serato user but RB's version seems more intuitive (DAW like) than Serato's clever but sometimes confusing Flip system.
@@DJBlakeyUk Shame you don’t get them anymore when buying their products. Just bought 2x CDJ 3000’s and A9 last month and was expecting a licence key but… Thanks for the info 👍
Rekordbox user here...This tutorial was right on time. Thank you, my friend...

Two features people don't know about because they don't read (the manual).
Thanks for this video!
Thanks for watching 👊🏻

@@dj_kaasi Great for cutting out those Diddy verses!

Both very different but useful in their own ways
FYI the Edit mode is available from version 6.6.1 and later.
@@djunleash thanks for pointing that out 🙏🏻
This is Rekordbox’s best feature after that Algorithm Djay destroys it!!
@@bboymac84 So much love for Algoriddim. Need to try it out
@@DJBlakeyUk it’s literally better than serato and Rekord box. The only thing serato has is …flip 🤷🏾♂️🤣🤣
@@bboymac84 What is it about it that you like so much?
Can you use stems in the edit?
Unfortunately not
Is this in the free version of Rekordbox?
You need a license
