The next camera review start with the video side first then do the hand off to Chris and tell him he has 5 min after you got 30 min to do a video review. Especially if it's the new Panasonic ff.

The Everyday Dad has a video-oriented camera-review channel. He doesn't claim to be an expert and just focuses on the field of content creation. IMO he used to provide valuable content.
The Basic Filmmaker is an other one with lots of educative content. It's not really a review channel but still highly recommended for youtubers.

  • @Ulrich.Bierwisch
    @Ulrich.Bierwisch 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Additional Video-oriented youtube channels are: Gerald Undone (very technical), Max Yuryev (testing), Scott McKenna (production, weddings), CRFTSHO (professional production), wolfcrow (indy Film production), Magnus (Film making), Jeven Dovery (Film making) and Griffin Hammond (indy Film making)
You have a camera from the camera company that is coming into everybody's mind if you ask for video orientated small hybrid cameras. The AF in the latest versions for the GH5 and G9 is pretty good. We will see new versions of the GH5 and hopefully the G85 with even better AF in the future. The 10-25mm/1,7 will be exactly in the range you like (except the price range).
The L-mount will definitely show video oriented cameras in addition to what is already announced.

We feel so intimidating with all that equipment, different brands and such. Without the Internet and all these reviews and opinions, we would be in the dark, 'hostages' of all that hype from marketing gurus. Ha! I’m a photographer and only occasionally do video, which is why I’m subscribed to your channel. So actually the others are doing you a favor. 😉. Peter Greg does a very good job comparing cameras and lenses for video also. I think the real hang up is the 4K obsession, which makes no sense to me. Everyone watches TH-cam videos on their phones and tablets anyway, so 1080p is more than good enough (and is the max playback resolution on iPhones and iPads via the TH-cam app, BTW). But I do understand your frustration- there is no APSC mirrorless (smallish) camera that has all 3: IBIS, flippy-screen, and great auto-focus. Probably the closest would be the Canon M50 with an IS lens, but again you’d have to get over the 4K hang up. If Sony puts a flippy screen on the a6500 successor, and the focusing system of the a7III, you might be happier for a while...

I agree completely. It's like solving a puzzle to use the right search terms when finding reviews for VIDEO camera functions. I seriously doubt any photographer out there has this type.of issue. I really don't care about the photographs it can take. I just want to know what it can do in video mode. High dynamic range? Yes, please. High bit rate? Certainly. Global shutter? For sure. Excellent battery life? Of course. Large swivel touch screen? It'd be nice. XLR jacks? Great! Headphone jack? No duh. Multiple card slots (on the side)? For heaven's sake YES.
I'd like the perfect VIDEO camera too, but it seems so hard to find. Right now, I'm leaning towards a pocket Cine from Blackmagic, but who knows what may change by the time I am actually ready to buy.

Camcorders are so underrated. Vlogging with my Canon HF G10 was one of the happiest times of my life. It had kickass stabilization, a tiny sensor with super fast glass (30-300mm zoom range with f/1.8-f/2.8, I added an extra wide adapter), and I never had to worry about autofocus. It was always good. And it focused super close, so I could still get bokehlicious shots even with the tiny sensor. And that form factor. Omgah. After years of fucking around with hybrid cameras, it feels so great to get your hands on an actual camcorder. 10 years ago, youtube was all about video cameras and short films. For some reason, the hype has reverted to still cameras and pixel-peeping lens reviews. Go figure.

One video-centered camera for the videos, such as a bmpcc 4k and an Olympus omd whatever for the stills using the same expensive but sharp lenses. I want to use a 32" tv set for the blackmagic's video monitor so that I can gaze upon myself clearly as I film myself. AVPstudios is a great video only channel, the old guy really gets into the meat of all cameras when it comes to video, great video.

I pray to baby Jesus that the perfect vlogging camera is never produced or else this train wreck of a channel will be boring like all the others. :)

Oh, and the 200D/SL2 for my money is the best little bang for buck vlog cam.

The Prophecy tells of the KC-3000, a camera so acrobatic, so gyroscopic, so fast to focus, and with some measure of depth-of-field control... that no lens would dare couple with it... Except one... eXFcaLibur ...but where is the legend hidden?

Hah, that made my day. It's only 12:22 am, that's 22 minutes into today so far, but I think it has been made already.

Agreed, I'm looking at cameras with good video features as of late. Just got the Z6 and did some focus and stabilization tests in video. Not perfect, but getting better. Keep up funnies man.

You're kind of describing the Panasonic FZ2500, though it's a little big for vlogging. Video beast for the heavily muscled.

Hahah you forget to mention TH-cam videos by photographers also suck very much, as far as video production basics (sound, light, framing, transitions, background, etc.).
And they are not like you. They don't do it on purpose.
Nice to watch your channel grow. You find your game.

Been watching your video for a while now. You should get the a7 III + 24 f1.4 or 28 f2 and shoot 4k. That should give you enough frame for you face. Then you can crop your 4k footage on post and export as 1080p. Hope that helps.

I am having the same problem. What do you think about the canon eos 50 for 1080P ? It 4k sux but hey, i dropped out of the 4k hysteria. Its just not needed if everyone is using a mobile this days.....Buti totaly agree, a camera designet for video would be perfect. I am still looking, but after i decided to drop 4k, i think maybe the eos 50 just can handle it. Currently i am using the video cam from Sony 53 and it does the work, when only vlogging and so....it even supports 4k lol
