I appreciate your short and to the point video yet Still I can't master it. It's driving me CRAZY! I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I've had this tool for years because I Know its a great tool. I'm Very frustrated but will master this somehow!
Any luck? I recently bought one of these to keep in my backpack. I've tried it a couple of times now And luckily I don't think I dulled my blade, but it's seems like it should be much sharper. I bought a sharpening rod a few years ago that I keep in my kitchen, and I've used it many times with decent success, so I assumed this would be used the same way but just a "pocket-sized" version. 🤷
@@Mojo32No, ha ha! I'm Still trying different angles and pressure and I Know this tool works. It was recommended and demonstrated to me and within a few strokes the knife was sharp as could be. She must have had a special knack. How's it going with yours?
@@brigittegeorg I do think that it's is actually getting better, I'm not confident enough about it to yet explain it to just anyone though. It feels like I've practiced thousands of times at this point LOL and it is extremely frustrating every time that I end up with a blade that is more dull than when I started. The toughest thing for me is needing to constantly remind myself to slow it down so that I can pay attention to the angle all the way through. It's like my brain gets distracted somehow and I start swiping it quickly like a pro (which I'm clearly not yet) and dull my blade. Slow and steady, and then someday after maybe I've practiced a million times I can run it quickly. I have also noticed that swiping it on my leather belt a few times afterwards actually seems to help too, so that's been a nice realization.
