    Great job! Thank you, in 1992 I was conductor for 6 years, I relived my youth and the railway as it once was. Thanks again.

    Precioso vídeo nostálgico en TEE. Brillante viaje. Brillante como la vista del carril que refleja la belleza de la ruta, mientras se escucha la música inconfundible a su paso. Genial.!!

    This video is a collector's edition, wow, 1990! No base tunnel, no in-cab signalling, no door controls in the cab, many stations that do not exist today, even the train shown is no more, no cell phones, no laptops, no internet... a different era. Thank you very much for this fantastic and memorable journey.

    Gauge is standard (1435 mm), voltage is 15000 V, 16 2/3 Hz AC in Switzerland, 3000 V DC in Italy. The RAe 1050 series was one of the first EMUs able to run under different voltage systems. Signaling systems are also different in the Swiss and Italian sections.

    Bellissimo video, era una vita che non vedevo cosi tante "tartarughe" tutte insieme. Grandi ricordi.. Peccato che già a questi tempi, non c'erano già piu' i venditori di panini con il loro carrellino.. a pensarci oggi, era magico arrivare sotto le volte di Milano Centrale, ed affacciarsi al finestrino, per acquistare un Buon panino al Salame in attesa della ripartenza..

    Grazie per aver pubblicato questo bel video, anche se ci sono delle parti tagliate, specialmente nella tratta italiana; gli ho dato un'occhiata così, e appena posso lo guarderò interamente o un po' alla volta.
    Buongiorno.

      @manfredi3692  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      L'ho pubblicato per omaggiate il buon vecchio TEE. Purtroppo ci sono molti tagli, senza contare la camera a livello rotaia che non mi piace proprio. Ad ogni modo ben venga tutto ciò che è ferroviario :-)

    • @DavideZerillo
      @DavideZerillo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hai fatto molto bene a omaggiare questo treno, che non è proprio il TEE, ma l'EC che è seguito a questo, ed effettuato con lo stesso elettrotreno; per il resto sono perfettamente d'accordo con te, e anche se questo video è stato realizzato così, che ben venga, così come altri video ferroviari.:)

    Attn all friends from the US and Canada: you might have noticed how different Swiss signals are from Italian signals. The traditional Swiss system is reminiscent of the German Hv-system, while Italy is the only country in the EU still using three-color searchlights (no lunar white), though the logic behind them is not the same that govern your max-mid-low-speed system.

    Now feb 2019, that is a very nice video. Everything in early summer, several abandoned stations, the motor road not yet completed brings me back a long time. Also the trip is done with the marvelous SBB Eurocity, one of the nicest trains the Swiss ever made. See how little the development storm has affected the landscape? Good work my friend Manfredi !!
    But
    why have you kicked out the cameraman with his chin between the rails. Surely he must be a friend. So keep him inside so he can the landscape too.
    Thank you very much

    Tremendous shots of some Baeseler double slip switches. Very flat through the diamonds, the combined single rail looking like an optical illusion. The heel of the point rails barely ended before the cluster of acute frogs, along with the fieldside heating elements againt the stock rails. Great stuff. Imagine how it would've looked had the source controlling the camera actually realized what terrific track infrastructure, found only in Germany, was right in front of her/him for those dozen seconds.

    I was kind of disappointed they skipped over most of the Italy part. I kept thinking, "when do they get into Italy?" But I suppose the Italy part is way less scenic.
    It was interesting that the town names changed from German-looking to Italian-looking after you get through the Gothard Pass. That is apparently a cultural boundary.
    I looked up what the language is in the Italian-looking area. It is Lombardese.

    Really enjoyed the trip from Zurich to Goddhard Tunnel entrance. Would have like if the helical tunnels has been identified along the way at their entrance and exit, those tunnels to gain altitude are among the engineering highlights of the entire route.

    Treno belissimo: Politensione ellectrica per tutti rete ferroviari del Europa UIC
    Vierspannung Triebzug"Graue Mause" im alles Bahnnetz in Europa !
    Rame Quadritension pouvant rouler sur tous les réseaux ferroviaires Européens
    Photographiée en 1961 à La Plaine sous 1500 Volts continu pour essais, on pourra la rephotographier après la finition de la CEVA au même endroit avec ses couleurs TEE à la fin de la decennie 2010 !
    La réelectrification en 25 KV de Bellegarde Genève ne l' interdit pas !
    Une telle rame est conservée par TEE Classics, et a conservé ses autorisations de circuler dans les pays où elle faisait des TEE( France, Suisse, Italie, Belgique, Luxembourg)
    Imaginons cette rame faire un train spécial sur la CEVA ! Elle irait à Annemasse, Evian, Le Bouveret, Martigny, ou Bellegarde( franchissant la nouvelle section de séparation en direction de Culoz) puis, Chambéry, Grenoble, Valence, Livron, la Voulte sur Rhône, Tournon, Givors, Lyon( Part dieu, Perrache), Ambérieu, Culoz, Bellegarde,Genève !
    Ca nous changerait des TGV !
    Ou un parcours Genève, Lyon, Grenoble, Montmélian(raccordement), Modane, Torino, Milano, Simplon, Brig !

    Im Prinzip ein schöner Zusammenschnitt der Strecke. Das das Videomaterial teilweise so dunkel ist, mag sicherlich an der Tageszeit und an den Bergen liegen. Das kenne ich von mir im Bayerischen Oberland, da ist das genauso. Sehr schön, die verschiedenen Videoeinstellungen, mal vorne mal hinten und auch unten am Gleis. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Verwundert war ich zuerst wegen des Zuges, so etwas habe ich in der Schweiz noch nie gesehen. War in den 60igern bestimmt total modern. Aber wenn das Material aus den 90igern ist muss man sich nicht wundern das man in Erstfeld noch keine Bauarbeiten vom Gotthard Basistunnel sieht. Hätte es aber schön gefunden wenn man wichtige Abzweigungen markiert hätte. So musste man ab und zu zurückspulen wenn es einen interessiert hätte, wo beispielsweise der Abzweig am Zürichsee nach Chur ist. Und was war das bei 1:12:44 bitte für eine steile Autostraße. Wow. Und ich dachte das am Grenzübergang alle Züge auch in Chiasso halten. Gut habe ich echt noch was dazu gelernt. Ansonsten danke für die schönen Aufnahmen

    Personally I enjoyed this video very much. Obviously many missed out on the track level shots. What seems to be a smooth and gliding ride is in reality at track level rather rough. Also at speed watch how the unit moves from side to side as the wheels adjust to the corners. So far in several videos I have yet to see anything run by diesel. What voltage do the trains run at? What gauge are the tracks and what type of signalling do they use. From a curious former Milwaukee Road employee.

    Ein Tipp zur *Verbesserung* alter VHS oder DVD ist, diese mit XP auf einen DVD-Player mit Festplatte zu kopieren ud dann auf DVD geteilt (60 Minuten) zu brennen. Das Resultat ist sehr viel besser und die Arbeit lohnt sich bei einer *RARITÄT* !!

    Just a straight cab view in real time (no editing) would have been so much better. But I did appreciate the work that went in to produce this video. Just not very watchable for me........

    • @swarfrat311
      @swarfrat311 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree. With all the other stuff (views of the engineer, track, other trains) the cab ride itself is very disjointed. There is no continuity or "flow" of the cab ride and where you are on the journey. Two hours of this is more that I can handle.

    • @martinschwehla4704
      @martinschwehla4704 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep in mind the proportions here, the added scenes don't amount to more than a few percent. What I think matters more is that on some parts of the track, the video seems to speed up by about 30-40%, and that the track isn't followed continuosly. The aim seems to have been to give a compact as well as varied impression of the ride, and it certainly wasn't made to be played on TH-cam ;-) Regardless of what might be considered as peculiarities in the light of the extremely rich supply of specialised videos today, this is truly a great document from times gone by.

    Ahhhh, errore! Non si tratta del TEE "Gottardo" ma degli elettrotreni quadricorrente (concezione fine anni 50) di proprietà delle FFS e usati precedentemente per i servizi TEE. Quello delle immagini è un RAe... riciclato, dipinto in due tonalità di grigio e, nonostante la sigla storica sul frontale, declassato a EUROCITY con, evidentemente, due classi. Si trattava dunque di un RABe. Nonostante le apparenze molto moderne, uno stile molto "svizzero" non era poi granché...: poco veloce e, anche all'interno, abbastanza rumoroso a causa dei carrelli SIG con freni a ceppo.

    • @manfredi3692
      @manfredi3692  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Allora non ricordavo male! Infatti da quel che mi ricordavo era RABe, ma in internet ho trovato RAa. Ai tempi era sicuramente un eurocity e quando faceva il TEE vero e proprio aveva la colorazione sul rosso. Anche la scritta "Gottardo" è un ricordo, non so se risalente a quando era un TEE o un EC. Troppi anni e nessun appunto preso all'epoca.

    La Rincovision usava fare video così, alternando immagini decisamente balorde come quelle riprese a filo della rotaia a quelle laterali con lo zoom troppo allargato e quindi con una immagine falsa della velocità, a quelle dalla cabina, insomma un gran pasticcio. Poi da notare che le spirali di Giornico sono in pratica saltate, idem per Monte Ceneri, troppe immagini inutili e momenti decisivi perduti, come il cambio di tensione senza fermata a Chiasso, e infine il tratto FS è troppo condensato, in pratica potevano anche saltarlo fatto così. Era tutto molto strano, la Rincovision era svizzera, ci si aspettava la perfezione ferroviaria, invece i suoi video erano penosi. Per fortuna non esiste più.
