    This is another very sad story that needs to be told. Very unfortunate about Carl's childhood. Today, Carl's father would probably have been facing legal problems, for not keeping his gun secured and locked up. Very unfortunate story all the way around. Thank you very much Leo and Heather, for telling this story.

    I some times wonder with these young children and teens if they had been taken from abusive parents at infancy and placed with a family member or CPS if maybe their destiny could have been changed,ive been noticing young one have been getting more voilent and angry and itbreaks my heart. I raised my 4 kids by myself and im so glad they turned out kind loving and respectful of other folks.

    When it was mentioned that his parents were alcoholics, it made me wonder if Carl was a baby born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, which will cause a wide range of behavioral problems, impulsiveness and trouble getting along with friends and relating with others. Not that I feel any less pain for the loss of Cecil and his family. A sad story. Thank y’all for bringing this story, that the majority would never have heard about.

    Tragic story for both boys. Some children are more emotionally stable than others.Who knows what violence the boy might have experienced living in an alcoholic home? Carl killed himself at an early age. Did guilt make him end his life? We will never know. Tragic for the family of the boy that was killed and the poor boy himself. Thank you for this video.

    My grandma was playing outside and a little girl down the street wanted her doll. She and the little girl got into a fight and the little girl hit her in the eye with a ring that had lost its stone. She continued to wear the ring with just the wire setting. Needless to say it was during the depression and the eye became infected and my grandma lost her eye. It troubled her through out her life. Little kids will do terrible things. I feel very bad for Cecil’s folks. Very sad. Little Carl was a cute little kid but who knows what he was thinking.

      I was one lucky duck when I was around 9 or 10 years old can't really tell you much only we didn't get along with kids around our home in KCMO. You're talking early 1970's my twin would go pretty much each day out in the back yard and throw a ball up and hit it with an aluminum sliver bat. One day arguing with the kids next door I just took the bat from my twin and hit the boy around age across the back of the head. I can still hear the thick part of the bat connect to his shull if I think about it even after 50 years or more. He chased me some around a old metal scrap area by a tree. I don't remember anything after that.

      As a six year old I was a fighter. One of the things the children in our neighbourhood enjoyed doing was throwing stones at each other and I was an excellent shot. By the age of eight I was no longer a fighter and have been one to shy away from confrontation ever since. I’m now in my late fifties. I believe that it was my parents actions that made made me understand that violence is not the answer. My parents never even argue they are the kindest people ever and taught me right from wrong. Upbringing can have such lasting effects on children. If only those parents didn’t have a gun or at least locked it away.

      He would have used an axe or a knife instead. When a person decides to kill another, there are plenty of weapons to choose from. David killed Goliath with a slingshot. Cain killed Abel with a chunk of iron. Samson used the jawbone of an ass.

      Are you serious!? He was 6! It wasn't premeditated, as in it was a provoked attack, and even if he had calmly plotted to kill someone using a knife or axe there's less chance it would have been fatal.
      This is the danger with guns. Someone can take a life in the blink of an eye without any thought or energy on behalf of the assailant...in many cases accidentally!!!
      A gun literally allows the taking f a life with a single finger movement. Not the same as exerting all ones strength/energy/rage, struggling up close and personal, for an extended period with a knife or axe in a loud, bloody, gruesome scene of murder.

    • @ellaova
      @ellaova ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @FRLN500
      Case in point: Cecil lost his temper and struck Carl with a piece of metal and Carl survived. Carl lost his temper and struck Cecil with a gun and Cecil died.
      Not all weapons are equal. Guns allow ease and effacy in ending life with very little energy, strength, skill, intent, emotion, motivation etc
      This is why we arm soldiers and law-enforcement with guns and not axes/knives/sling-shots.🙄
      In LE guns are used to extinguish mortal threat while tazer's are use to de-escalate.

    • @asktheetruscans9857
      @asktheetruscans9857 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ellaova If I was being charged by a bear or moose, I'd actually rather have an axe. Anything can be killed with an axe, and there's only one step to using it. In close proximity to someone pulling a gun on me, I'd reach for my knife rather than my gun, for the same reason.
      Do you have any form of combat, hunting or firearm training/experience whatsoever?
      Happiness is an emotion, too. So, I hope you're really happy about the 400,000+ se xual assaults that are prevented each year in the US by women who privately own and use firearms to protect themselves.
      Anti-gun is pro-gRape, so I hope you're not a filthy little coward (anti-gun)-ist.

    What an incredible & interesting channel to discover & happily subscribe. So very well done & natural. I really like that you both contribute & it is researched thoroughly with care & detail. This episode reminds me when I was a police Officer in Florida, the youngest child I ever arrested was 8yoa in the late 1980 's, early 1990's( the minimum age to be charged with a crime). He had stolen, opened & hid within his clothing multiple video tapes. The 2 adults that came in with him & directed him to steal, fled & abandoned him. I led him to my cruiser by the hand,(not cuffed) he was crying so hard. The state & business (Zayres) dropped charges & I heard his guardian was only angry that he got caught. He never had a chance, later I was made aware that he was in our holding cell at age 15 for grand theft auto with other youth. Sad & preventable. He was crying then as well & no one came forward in his family to support him. He went to Juv detention & I lost track of him. Carl seemed to act on impulse without an awareness of consequences for his actions. So sad that the other child was killed but remembered. Thanks for sharing.

      I grew up in west central Indiana and my family would go to Tennessee and Kentucky for vacations. Both loved History, so we would go to a lot of museums and historical sites. Ohio is a great state too! I had ancestors in all 4 of those states, so I research county and state histories a lot!

    This is a sad , sad , story. It made me cry. I watch it all around , parents caught in thier own self gratification. When the children of this world need to stand up and be hero's. Calling all angels. Sounding trumpets it is time to make things right.

    there has been another boy who murdered his 6y old classmate after trying to kiss her or inappropriate touch her. This little monster already had aggressive behavior, but was allowed in class. He had brought a gun (wth would any decent/sane/responsible adult) to school, killing the little girl. He was not charged with any crime. I think his parent was charged with a misdemeanor charge. Not good enough😊

    About 50 years ago, I`m 57 now, I remember going to visit my Dads Aunt Tippie. I don`t know her real name I just called her tippie. She lived just outside Winchester Ky. A well with a pump handle and an outhouse. She had a long wall across the road that both dad and her said was a slave wall. Built by slaves. Ever hear of them? The wall in your video reminded me.

    I have subscribed to your channel. This was a sad part of history. Children must be taught kindness, respect of people and animals, to share, empathy. I do not think Carl was taught that. So sorry Cecil passed so young. I was able to work with children and did my best to teach them those necessary tools to a good life.
