Where to Find Turtles on the North Shore of Oahu

You guys should know by now that if there is a chance I can hop in nature and be with wildlife, I am taking it! In Hawaii there is all sorts of amazing natural experience, but my favorite is finding turtles. On my latest trip to Oahu I spent most of my time in the North Shore. With the guidance of family members living in Hawaii, I went to three beaches on the North Shore in search of the awesome animals....and I found them! Check out the video to see where I went and what exactly I found.

I just visited this beach. It was amazing - the best beach we went to for snorkeling (also went to Lanikai, Kailua, Hanauma Bay, Sharks Cove, Ehukai, Haleiwa, and Waikiki). The facilities are great, parking is easy, not too crowded, the water was crystal clear, and there are many fish and sea turtles. Great experience.

Thank you! Mornings and evenings I’ve heard tend to have more spottings, but we went to Aweoweo around 1ish and saw plenty. They tend to like calmer water.

how far of a swim would need to do to see those turtles at aweoweo beach?!

It’s not far from the sand- I’d say 10-15ft
