Same here! Instead of bloating msfs24 up to an arcade game, they should have focused on core sim features as performance, second cockpit functionality, etc.
Thanks for this great guide! Could you (or anyone) explain what the SecondaryScalingVR=1.5 setting does in the config file compared to just setting DLSS to quality in the VR settings tab?
Just a little reminder to all of those of us with AMD x3D CPUs, at least those with 7950x3Ds, changing Power performance, according to experts, this will mess with core parking and so it will render your performance to like half the frames, the easiest fix is to make sure that you keep your power management to normal and to make sure Game bar is on and that it recognizes the game, if it doesn’t, just manually tick it in the Game bar to recognize it as a game. You can use Rysen Master to see if core parking is properly working. The only reason I say this is because everyone likes to say to keep your power management to high performance but that is not good for at least those of us with 7950x3Ds. Everything else should be fine, Thanks Steve for the hard work.
I received my Pimax Crystal Light headset yesterday, and unfortunately, I have to say I’m not convinced by the comfort at all. It’s a bit like buying shoes - the fit and feel have to be perfect from the start, or they’re simply not the right shoes. There’s no question the headset delivers smooth image transmission, but getting the right 'focus' while wearing it is very challenging. In comparison, my old Oculus Rift S provides a much better comfort experience right away. What I find even more frustrating is that every time I take off the headset while using it in a simulator and put it back on, I’m suddenly outside my 'safe zone.' I have to re-center and reconfigure it every single time. On top of that, I need to exit VR mode first; otherwise, I get a CTD (crash to desktop) when I’m in the Pimax Play software. I hope these issues can be addressed soon because, for now, it’s making the experience more frustrating than enjoyable
There is no magic: you see your GPU working at 90% or more -> you are GPU limited. To have better FPS you must reduce the resolution. Which method you apply to reduce the resolution (OpenXR Toolkit, PimaxPlay, in-sim, config file) doesn't matter much. Using DLSS matters though as it's very smart, AI-trained algorithm, so it allows mixing reduced rendered resolution with decent image quality.
I think that's the point. Overriding the resolution in OpenXR allows you to set a very specific resolution rather than "quality" "balanced" etc... I think quality is like 65% resolution scale or something super low. This lets you do 99.99 if you want.
DLSS is the best method of lowering GPU usage as you said, for every game, but not for MSFS :P In both 2020 and 2024 there is a problem with glass cockpit elements / 2D screens / gauges, which are not properly upscaled (looks like they have lower resolution, are blurry). It seems that DLSS is not working for them and we see the internal rendering resolution without upscaling. Additionally there is very noticeable ghosting when they moves. So these are the only 2 games in the world which buggy DLSS and Asobo can't fix it for 4 years. This is the point why everyone in VR (in 2D it is less noticeable) tries to get around and don't just use DLSS.
I notice that dynamic settings change default terrain, object details and sometimes the cloud setting too. But it is buggy. It only works if you reset the settings and DON'T touch the dynamic checkbox or frame value.. most graph settings become dynamic, which really gives a false indication that the settings are working.
Hi there! I have 4090, but increasing SecondaryScalingVr to 1.5 resulted to me huge fps drop from 40+ to 27 fps with the same settings. So if anyone has experiences the same , just keep it back to 1.0. (Pimax 8kx)
Are you absolutely positive the DLSS swapper does anything worth changing? I tested it without, and with the latest 3.8.1. The FPS was the same, and visually I couldn't see a difference
don't you need to have the FPS meter running to 'see' the difference? also make sure you're not in TAA. Other channels have overwhelming positive responses to DLSS swapper - unlocks bottlenecking?
@@stvcolwill I absolutely have FPS and every measurements running with a side by side video, I can upload it if yall want to see it. My fps is the same
You may be right. I was under the impression that dlss3 frame regeneration is not supported in VR. I haven't found any information on it supporting it. It would be really good if someone could share a some information about this.
@@madbrendan725 DLSS3 is not possible in VR, you can easily google it. Asynchronous Spacewarp and equivalent solutions are basically the DLSS3 frame generation equivalent.
For Virtual Desktop make sure you set VDXR as your runtime in the Streamer App in windows. This will Bypass SteamVR and that alone increases your FPS by 25%
I really wanted to buy a crystal light but when I see and hear so many varied comments I get the impression it’s a bit of a lottery. My trusty Q3 paired with 4090, VD, 200mbits, SSW 40, dedicated router, LOD 300, all setting high to ultra apart from TREES AND PLANTS MUST BE LOW I am living the dream with visuals that are truly mind blowing and butter smooth compared to 2020.
@ it’s 80 fps in VD settings and SSW turned on. Trees on low don’t look too bad. It’s all trial and error and trade offs I’m afraid to find what you prefer … personally I want constant FPS for smoothness and quality will come as cloud services improve.
Helpful video. Helped my improve my start up success rates. Am I the only one who has almost 75 hours elapsed on 2024 but has only managed half a dozen circuits in VR despite using a RTX 4090 i9 13900k now with 64Gb RAM and 32Gb rolling cache and 300 MBs internet. I get crashes three out of four starts at random places even when set to LowEnd graphics in screen and VR! Massive FOMO setting in as I watch your and others videos. I wonder if there are others like me or if we are all suffering like this and not letting on?
I was nervous to buy the crystal Light at first form hearing about Quality Control on Reddit but now I’m eager to keep buying hardware from Pimax because the lenses, colors, and display of the crystal light had me blown away. Even more than the BigScreen beyond. The sweet spot is massive and the colors are so bright and vibrant in dark scenery.
Fauna has some odd bugs. I would like to have some fauna and sometimes it works and is cool BUT I've found multiple times that framerate can get cut in half just looking toward an area that should have animals - funny no animals seem to spawn but fps goes from 40 to 20 and with fauna set off all is good no drops. I suspect there is a bug with spawning animals and sheep in particular as I've see this happen in UK, Ireland and Australia. I'll turn it on again after the first big patch coming in a week or so.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm glad, and saddened, to see that you are having the same issue as I am with washed out interior windshield ... I thought it was just me! Look at timestamp 25:25 to 25:40 and notice the massive whitewash of the windshield. I don't remember it being this bad in 2020. Any idea on why this is happening? A setting? Or, a flaw requiring fix by Asobo? As this only happens during sunny days, I will restrict to flying in late aft with clouds and/or night for the perfect VR experience.
Thanks so much for these vids Steve, seriously, thank you. You claim to not be an expert, but your settings guides are always bang on. They save me so much time and grief and now thanks to this vid, the sim is actually looking good and I’m starting to enjoy it. Thanks again Steve, I really appreciate the work you do. You’re a damn DAMN good egg 👏👏👏👏
Love your videos mate! Would love to know what your settings are in OBS to capture these videos. I'm assuming you are streaming your headphone output into OBS using the OpenXR plugin for OBS?
Smart smoothing works if you untick Lock to Half Framerate in Pimax Play and tick Lock to half frame rate in PimaxXR Runtime. It can cause artifacts and flashes every now and then depending on the load but I prefer to use it rather than having everything fuzzy out the side of the plane. I think I tweaked a bunch of settings to minimize the artifacting too.
@@pdebaty It's also called Pimax XR Control Center. It's a program you download. Untick Prefer framerate over latency and tick lock to half frame rate. Can't remember what else I tweaked to minimise the flashes. Don't have turbo mode on and I think HAGs off are some of them.
Ive got just about enough $$ for a 5090 now but the crystal super is going to kill that so will prob stay with crystal and 5090 to get smoother experience rather than chasing the rainbow- love the style of these vids keep em coming...
Just been following your settings on my 4090 and Crystal OG, so maybe you can dispel some of my confusion over OpenXR.. it’s now included in Pimax Olay but we can also use the OoenXR toolkit to get the overlay back? It’s ok to run OpenXR and Pinaxolay with OpenXR at the same time?
Hi, Thanks for the great VR content and your detailed insights for MSFS2024! I’m currently using the Oculus Rift S and was wondering if you’d recommend these settings for it as well. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the performance in VR, and I’ve managed to improve the image sharpness using the OpenXR Toolkit. However, my biggest issue is that the visual display sometimes lags or leaves a trailing effect. It’s not the sim itself stuttering, but more of a visual lag. Do you have any ideas on what could be causing this or how to fix it? Lastly, if you were to recommend a VR headset for MSFS2024 today-something that’s future-proof and independent of budget-which one would you suggest? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and keep up the fantastic work! Best regards, Stefan
Fantastic details, can't wait to try them out. I'm having some strange issues with the Quest 3, towards the top F.O.V. I keep getting some odd black, almost 'fluffy' flickering and can get worse with head movement. Everywhere else in the FOV remains clear it's just the top. I've also had this issue with 2020 as well.
Hi Steve, thank you again for your useful and enthusiastic videos. I am just surprised that with your settings, you claim to have only 35 FPS. I have a Pimax Cristal light, I set the resolution to 4000x4500, I have a RTX 4080 ti and with YOUR settings, I get easily 55 FPS. And with every “High” or Ultra, I get between 40 and 45 FPS flying with the F18 in the Swiss Alps… how come ? (I will double check again my settings tomorrow)
Here: quest3 + Virtual Desktop+ ryzen7 9800x3d with 4090 + openxr with turbo mode on, approximate resolution 4800x4800, in the dlss simulator performance mode, almost everything in ultra, average of 42fps in manhattan. greetings from Brazil
I'm having issues with the scaling mod on Quest 3, it narrows a bit the right lens fov in the upper left corner, works fine in the menu but not in game. Got it back to 1.0 and went away
I’m super confused by the “can’t run native resolution” section. Specifically a crystal is 2880x2880 and when discussing pulling back from native using openXR toolkit you’re recommending 3500x4142 which is more than native??
“Trees” to low from ultra and you gain around 30% fps ! Its really good on low for VR. Much better then in 2020. I dont know, but trees in 2024 with huge impact.
Thinking of getting the Quest 3 . Right now I have the Quest 2 and have never tried VR flying. Is it even worth trying to use the Quest 2 to get some introduction to it? RTX 4070Super and 7800X3D 32GB Ram.. Suggested settings very different?
Do you have a solution for reading charts in VR? Maybe I have yet to figure out how to pull up sectionals or FAA charts on the internal tablet. Tablet usage in VR is still a funky thing I have yet to figure out in 2024.
With Pimax Crystal and a 4090, I recommend DLSS set to Quality with world scale 110 instead of 105, this way you can enjoy clouds in ultra, sharp image and with smooth fps! Try it!!
Hi Steve, have a look at Overkill Simulations settings for Crystal Light - 50+ FPS in TAA. I use these settings in Crystal and middle out at 48 FPS and it is the smoothest VR flight experience I've ever had.
He's downscaling twice the resolution twice, once in the the Pimax software then again in the game with TAA. In the video the frames were mid 30s with TAA they jumped up when he went to DLSS Quality.
Thanks for the video Steve what does that setting in file change do compared to not using it and setting dlss to quality instead of? I tried your settings with my reverb g2 but changed open xr tool kit to CAS and sharpen to 75% see what you think?
Wow what a difference. Night and day from what I was seeing before. I just received my PCL and this video should be mandatory for all new users. I did not do auto DLSS change because I was too nervous too and kept it under quality. Also I don't think you explained what the difference is between having the auto or the quality is. I have a 4090 so because of this I didn't do it. Also thanks for explaining the Pimax Play.
I'm currently enjoying the graphics in VR but I'm seeing a black outline around the planes in VR, would you know what in the settings causes this? (I'm using a pico4 streaming wirelessly on virtual desktop using an RTX 4070ti)
I have a 4090 and in my experience just using DLSS with DLAA provides MUCH BETTER clarity than using the VR render scale set to 1.5 and DLSS and Auto together. I also get a better FPS number as well.
I thought I would show settings and fps msfs2024 Pimax Crystal light gpu 4070 (not ti , not super), cpu 5800X3D dlss balanced, amdfx 100 world scale 103 dynamic settings check with fps target set to 30 global rendering preset high-end both LOD's 100. But when set to 30, the lowest that I see is 33 I believe that any X3D cpu will work wonders and is why I can use these high settings in msfs2024. . Even a lowly 5800X3D.
strange i have a 10900k and a 4090 and a crystel and my settings are all high and it runs smooth as butter lod at 150 and the other at 180 using dlss quality mode . Not using the 3d party open xr tool kit just the pimax openxr
24 was unplayable for me until I changed VD to target framerate of 120. Now im getting 80 S.Warp fps/40 native from the high 20's. I513600k w4070. I have no idea how or why this is working.
'24 can look superb but I don't see the point. One thing that worked well for me with VR was click-dragging a windowed FS20 to make it as small as possible once in VR.
@@Swedish-VR-Pilot Try it? Considerable in my case. It seemed too obvious (and no-one ever mentions it) or likely a placebo, but .... imo it works great. It gives a bit back - which makes perfect sense - it's rendered in a much lower resolution. That was on a 2080 / 3700x and me really working for marginal gains. But it gave me quite a bit. Maybe it won't matter so much on top-end? I don't know. It's simple to try - ALT-ENTER for window and click drag the display to minimum size it will go. Interested to hear the experience.
I've been using my aero on 14900k+4090+64gb@6400cl30 at 39ppd with the settings you tested in your first 2024 test video, only boosted the terrain ond object lod to 125. DLSS quality gives me stable ~45fps and acceptable clarity. Pretty comfrotable, nearly full "fuild" experience with reprojection on. I plan to even boost some settings. Very curious what you've cooked up!
No, I haven’t even installed it until today. Maybe it’s not 100% percent stable but really comfortable for a newbie without much comparison. When I look at the yoke and shake my head slightly I don’t see any jittering
There's *something* weird happening in (at least my) VR. Yesterday I was flying at 5000ft - if I looked left I got a locked 45fps. If I looked right I got 19 fps. I couldn't see any significant difference in terrain. Not sure what's going on. Pimax crystal, 4080, 5800x3d
Well my weird direction -sensitive fps drops have disappeared. This correlates with me doing a full DDU GPU driver re-install. Correlation, not necessarily causation though!
Just bought a Crystal Light to replace my Pico, should I send it back? lol. I will have the say the VR pilots videos and your video reporting on his experiance were very misleading. All reports were VR was smooth on 4080 Supers and that MSFS 2024 would be able to run VR much better than 2020 because of multi core support. They also have not implemented FFR, Dynamic LOD, or anything to help.. and we still need to use OpenXR toolkit. We continue to use 3rd party software to improve our experience. They laugh all the way to the bank.
Sent my PCL back too. I think Steve needs to address the lotto that we as non TH-cam creators go through to get a 100% working Crystal Light. I also feel mislead. I was very disappointed.
@@Woopass90 I get my Crystal delivered this weekend. I am going to hook it up and put it through its paces with fs24. I'll let you all know how I fair. Running a 14900k, 64 gbs ram, and 4070 ti, so if I can find visuals and preformance that I am confident in then I will probably keep it, but after watching all this vids lately. I am not expecting to be happy. I could always just play 2020 until they fix 24 I guess.
Professional opinion wanted... if you had to guess. Which would be better. The 57ppd super or 50 ppd woth 135 fov.. pimax wide fov lenses have not recieved too much praise from yourself in the past.
Well in both cases, we won't be running that PPD in MSFS 2024 unless we get DFR at some point. Judging by Pimax wide FOV lenses of the past I'm skeptical. I'd stick with higher clarity and with those bigger aspheric lenses (similar to the XR-4), you'll get around 115 degrees horizontal. But it's a nice FOV shape. We will see soon...
@VRFlightSimGuy yes indeed. I'm really holding up hope that the 135 still looks OK. Wouldn't mind cutting down resolution and even some fov to gain performance mind Do you expect you will see a review sample of either before long??
@@gizmo104drives7 Hopefully, although it's doubtful I'll have anything to show this side of Christmas. However, expect to see the Vive Vision XR and Meganex very soon.
Will you be including the PSVR2 in your tests? It's specs are better than the Quest3 and quite a bit less expensive. The only thing I know about the Quest that's better is the pancake lenses, otherwise it's not up to the same level. All that said, I have only used the PSVR2 so I don't have any means to compare it in real life.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Thanks for that, just watched it. A little dissapointed that the PSVR2 doesn't work better. I've read some bad things about the Crystal Light, now wondering what I should get?
Why is the resolution scaling setting change you mention in user configuration only for 4090s? Does it eat up more VRAM than 16 Gb? (4080 and lesser cards) cheers
Really extremely disappointing that VR performance is so bad in this new version of MSFS- better multithreaded performance was my main motivation to move to 2024. They promised better performance through the bench. I think I may even stick to 2020 to be honest. Remember: We will get the new Bing Map Update for 2020 in January Sim Update (if not delayed).
Not sure you need to bother with trying the Quest3 with the Link cable. It's absolutely horrendous. Virtual Desktop is at least 10x better on my system (7900XT / 7800X3d)
I9-13900K, 32GB RAM RTX 4090. Pico 4. Virtual Desktop (Godmode) AND SSW 'Always On' MSFS 2024 Ultra/High settings. I'm getting a solid 72FPS using DLSS Quality, 60 FPS if using TAA, and BUTTER SMOOTH performance. SSW seems to run amazing in MSFS 2024, gamechanger!! :)
I've just brought a Pico 4 to replace the G2 (temporarily), running a 4080 super with a 9800x3d (if it ever ships), 64gb ram and water cooling with gen 4 nvme drives. can't wait to try it, any other settings worth doing?
@@chrisdavies4323 Key for me has been using SSW in Virtual Desktop. Start with Low/Medium settings in MSFS and go up from there until you hit the sweet spot between image quality and solid performance :)
Ssw has always run the same… it’s just flight sim is very slow paced and you don’t have things going from ones side of the screen to the other. That’s why on fist person shooters ssw looks like shit lol.
I've been wanting to try the virtual desktop method. Are you finding that glass cockpit gauges are also crisper in DSLL (with VR). I know it ups the frame rate, I'd already heard that. Also, super newbie here. Where to start with Virtual desktop??
I notice in your Pimax Play, You show "Headset Firmware: V1.0.11 whereas I am updated to latest and mine is 1.3.0_au531. Why the diference? I have the Crystal.
This is the first time I've noticed that TH-cam videos can have multiple audio tracks. The German audio track was preselected and it seems to be auto-generated. I just want to let you know that it sounds horrible! I love your videos in English and since almost everyone in Germany speaks English, I highly recommend to delete the German version!
The colors in VR with my Quest 3 appear very washed out, as if there’s overexposure. In Virtual Desktop, my gamma is set to 1.0. Can anyone help me make the colors more saturated?
Alors comme on dit ....Hope and Wait !!
The only reason wss works on virtual desktop in this game is because you are for the most part STATIONARY. And the surroundings move so slow, that if you are at 30fps on desktop it won’t bother you.

Do you use the open xr toolkit when you're using DLSS? or is it only in TAA mode?
Ik had great performance yesterday maybe I can finetune with your tips thanks Steve !
Why 90%? Because you are allowing some headroom?
@@lurchilurch5507-_-
I think that's the point.
@@mateuszw1995 exactly! I fly g3000 and g1000 in VR. DLSS is just not an option. It does look a bit sharper in 2024 so fingers crossed.
(Pimax 8kx)
WhatsApp Resolution do you have in OpenXR Toolkit. Native or higher?
Did you figure out why? I am experiencing the same.
9800X3D, 4090, 64GB DDR5 6200, Pimax Crystal, Native Res in OXRT
Yeah, I deleted that, I'd rather play with the setting where I know what they do
Are you absolutely positive the DLSS swapper does anything worth changing?
Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of the VR “head cursor”? It conflicts with my controller so much.
For Virtual Desktop make sure you set VDXR as your runtime in the Streamer App in windows. This will Bypass SteamVR and that alone increases your FPS by 25%
a co ma do Pimax Crystal Light Virtual Desktop?
Shoot didn’t bypass for me I had to uninstall steamVR lol
I really wanted to buy a crystal light but when I see and hear so many varied comments I get the impression it’s a bit of a lottery. My trusty Q3 paired with 4090, VD, 200mbits, SSW 40, dedicated router, LOD 300, all setting high to ultra apart from TREES AND PLANTS MUST BE LOW I am living the dream with visuals that are truly mind blowing and butter smooth compared to 2020.
mam tak jak Ty.
What is SSW 40? How do the trees look on low, is it a noticeable difference?

Thank you :) How do you get the Open XR toolkit up in VR please :)
I found this too.

Thanks for the tip! How do you tick lock half frame rate in pimaxXr runtime? Do u mean using openXr toolkit? Do u remember what else you tweaked?
@pdebaty PimaxXR - Openxr runtime. That little program you download.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the video. What should my Nvidia controls panel 3D settings be on?
Hi,
Thanks for the great VR content and your detailed insights for MSFS2024!
Best regards,
Stefan
That's fantastic performance wow! What CPU are you running? Thanks for the kind words.
Here: quest3 + Virtual Desktop+ ryzen7 9800x3d with 4090 + openxr with turbo mode on, approximate resolution 4800x4800, in the dlss simulator performance mode, almost everything in ultra, average of 42fps in manhattan.

Settings for Radeon (7900xtx) would also be very appreciated!
What are getting atm?
I'm having issues with the scaling mod on Quest 3, it narrows a bit the right lens fov in the upper left corner, works fine in the menu but not in game. Got it back to 1.0 and went away
What settings have you set in the NVIDIA panel? Did you only set one setting to high performance?
Hey Steve, nice video!
What does the secondaryscaling offer that upscaling via OXRTK doesn't?
i would also like to know.
I’m super confused by the “can’t run native resolution” section. Specifically a crystal is 2880x2880 and when discussing pulling back from native using openXR toolkit you’re recommending 3500x4142 which is more than native??
Due to barrel distortion correction.
Great vid… what does secondary scaling at 1.5 do?
Thankyou!
@@VRFlightSimGuy so what does scaling at 1.5 do please?
“Trees” to low from ultra and you gain around 30% fps ! Its really good on low for VR. Much better then in 2020. I dont know, but trees in 2024 with huge impact.
Trees are indeed a hard hitter, moer than anything except terrain LOD
@@1107laurensyes. When you close to the ground, especially some jungle areas. Fps loss can be 50% from low to ultra “ trees”
What driver do you prefer if you are still using 2020 because I installed the latest driver for 2020 and it freezes the vr headset.
Have you seen what appears to be a very good graphics comparison video @ ‘dwindling FPS’?
How can I access that AppData folder? It is not visible on my system.
DLSS SWAPPER not workking for rtx 3000 ? thanks in advance
Basic question - does this all apply to Virtual Desktop or using SteamVR only? I’m very new and trying to get the most out of my 3060 and Quest 3.
Thanks for the video Steve what does that setting in file change do compared to not using it and setting dlss to quality instead of?
I tried your settings with my reverb g2 but changed open xr tool kit to CAS and sharpen to 75% see what you think?
Thanks!!! You rock! Question- Does the 4080 Super is more similar to 4090 or to 4070?
Thankyou! Yes I'd say closer to a 4090 but I haven't tested one before.
How do you get the yellow FPS to show on your screen while flying?
Wow what a difference. Night and day from what I was seeing before. I just received my PCL and this video should be mandatory for all new users. I did not do auto DLSS change because I was too nervous too and kept it under quality. Also I don't think you explained what the difference is between having the auto or the quality is. I have a 4090 so because of this I didn't do it. Also thanks for explaining the Pimax Play.
My pleasure I'm so glad this helped :)
Would you still recommend to use openxr toolkit now that it’s not supported anymore?
Works OK for me. Although keep in mind, it's not officially supported with DX12
@@VRFlightSimGuyok thank you
I was hoping for specific 4080/4090 Super specs. Anyway this can happen in the future?
I'm currently enjoying the graphics in VR but I'm seeing a black outline around the planes in VR, would you know what in the settings causes this? (I'm using a pico4 streaming wirelessly on virtual desktop using an RTX 4070ti)
I have a 4090 and in my experience just using DLSS with DLAA provides MUCH BETTER clarity than using the VR render scale set to 1.5 and DLSS and Auto together. I also get a better FPS number as well.
DLAA gives me the similar performance to TAA

I am holding out on MSFS2020 until February then I upgrade my 3090 to a 5090 hope by then the dust has settled….
This is great - thank you so much! My understanding is that HAGS needs to be enabled for DLSS to work at all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I think HAGS is specifically a requirement for Frame Generation but not necessarily for DLSS in general
Not true. Only for framegen

'24 can look superb but I don't see the point. One thing that worked well for me with VR was click-dragging a windowed FS20 to make it as small as possible once in VR.
Really? How big of a difference?
Do you upscale the resolution in openxr toolkit?
No, I haven’t even installed it until today. Maybe it’s not 100% percent stable but really comfortable for a newbie without much comparison. When I look at the yoke and shake my head slightly I don’t see any jittering

Yep I was very disappointed by the false promises of equal to improved performance too. It's soo much worse, and unstable

Wouldn't mind cutting down resolution and even some fov to gain performance mind

Hi Steve have you been using your DOF lately? I haven’t seen it mentioned in your videos.
Will you be including the PSVR2 in your tests? It's specs are better than the Quest3 and quite a bit less expensive. The only thing I know about the Quest that's better is the pancake lenses, otherwise it's not up to the same level. Really extremely disappointing that VR performance is so bad in this new version of MSFS- better multithreaded performance was my main motivation to move to 2024. Ima still wait for that 5090 before i get the 2024 versions to let them iron out the bugs etc.
The only reason wss works on virtual desktop in this game is because you are for the most part STATIONARY. And the surroundings move so slow, that if you are at 30fps on desktop it won’t bother you.
