  • #Redyeing an existing leather notebook seems like a simple task, but my redyeing journey was wild! I hope this video is helps you with your redyeing process. My number one piece of advice would be to make sure you have the proper leather dye for your leather dye. That's where I made a mistake and hopefully this video further reiterates the fact that you should get the proper dye!

      Job's Journal the only thing you should feel guilty about is... not doing it sooner! Maybe have a a tiny heat pull for all the work you did but seriously you’re using it, that’s all that matters in the end. 😊

    I love it! It looks way more expensive and refined now. This is super exciting I may revamp some of my old faded notebooks.

    This is awesome! Now that it’s been 9 months, interested to see how it’s held up! Thinking of dying my Clairefontaine leather journal cover ☺️

    Not only are you a talented artist ... you are also a very brave man! I have only thought about re-dyeing leather. I LOVE leather and I have re-purposed and refurbished some leather items, but kept them the same color. Your notebook looks marvelous. I enjoyed watching and listening.

    Thanks for this video! I'm about to dye my Midori MD leather cover. It's got these weird black splotches on it that I want to paint over. I'm using Angelus paint myself. This video was really helpful!

    AHAHAHA! Omfg I’m laughing so hard. I swear we are the same person…using washi tape as a protector, spilling dye all over my table, too impatient to let it dry, using the wrong dye, buying way too much or not enough. Lord, I swear my whole life I thought I was the only one that was such a hot mess.

    Love the video ! It turned out great. The fact that your using a white rag on black leather kind of freaks me out lol but year, I love how it turned out!

  • @barb865
    @barb865 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    OMG!😂 You are hilarious! I love the result but especially loved part one of the video! LOL!! Too funny. Now to be serious do you recommend dying over painting and do you think if you started with the right product (!) and maybe read the instructions (!!!) ...that's a man thing isn't it? haha. that the dye would be even? How is it doing today after some use?

    Any way to take vintage red leather bound hardbacks and make them a less offensive color, without destroying the book? I’m considering just window-fading them.

    Great video but random question here. What filter coffee did you make at the end? I drink filter coffee daily so now I'm curious... haha!

      Hey Silvia! I'm a hardcore hario V60 drinker. I'm using their bleached 02 filters which fit the medium/02 V60. Hope this helps!

    Helloooo such a cool process to see 🙆🏻‍♀️ i have a question, in your etsy shop did you sell washitape samples?? Its still not up yet so I’m sure if it’s something you sold😅

    • @JobsJournal
      @JobsJournal  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bess! I currently don't sell washi tape samples. Is there a particular tape you're looking a sample for? Just let me know and I can help find you a sample!

    Okay Job. I’ve watched quite a few of your videos and feel like you’re the right person to ask. I feel like the journaling you do is style of some sort. Lots of neutrals, specific stationary, etc. Does this style have a name? Also It seems like this specific stationary is mostly foreign. Any time I’ve clicked links on videos of channels with the same style, I’m led to small stores in other countries. I haven’t found much of this in the US but lots of people in the US using this style for their own. Love your videos. Sorry for the long comments 😩

    • @JobsJournal
      @JobsJournal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Manda! I don't think this type of journaling has a name to it. Maybe you can classify it as minimalist art journaling, or collaging but I don't think there's any formal classification for it. If you're interested in this type of journaling, I would check out the US-based Baum-Kuchen Studios in LA. They have a fantastic online and brick-and-mortar store which carries tons of Japanese stationery, as well as their own in-house stationery which has the same aesthetic. Hope this is helpful!

    What type of fountain pen are you using on the side of the notebook? The nib size?

    • @JobsJournal
      @JobsJournal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm using a TWSBI Eco in the black colour with a medium nib. I currently have Pilot Iroshizuku grey ink in it! Hope this helps!
