I had a big piece of misinformation in the previous version due to a bit of a mishap I had when checking the effects. I test out the abilities in actual matches and in every case when I used Respawn Punisher with Quick Respawn, I hadn't met the conditions for Quick Respawn to activate and was left with the impression that the two aren't compatible. However I'd like to thank @GRonnlund on twitter for pointing out this mistake to me! I've taken out the part about respawn punisher. I strive to make my videos very accurate and as such have chosen to reupload rather than leave the previous version and spread false information, I hope you understand. I'll make sure to be more thorough when making these types of videos! I will still read and reply to all the comments on the original video and this one! When you use ninja squid in the midst of an action-packed battle, no one really pays attention to the sound you make or the track you leave. That's why I use it a lot, especially against snipers. 😉
I personally disagree about Ninja Squid. It can be used for quick getaways when being ambushed. I also found it best used for physical and short-ranged weapons like Rollers and Blasters.
I wished the Thermal Ink effects made it so it works when the marked players is in Squid Mode and that it also works with indirect shots such as Blasters and Sub Weapons.
I tend to be a defensive, slip in behind everyone amidst the fray and take the kill kind of person, so Ninja Squid is a big favorite of mine ;u; The key is sliding in at moments where people are distracted, rather than when they can hone in on you. Then again, I suppose I'm not super high leveled yet, so I'll probably have to change my strategies eventually.
Thermal Ink is stupid good for chip damage weapons, or weapons that can deal chip damage (like specials such as Tenta Missiles and Booyah Bomb). While it isn't too long, you don't have to get all the way back to where your opponent is when you die, like with haunt. Plus you can activate it in a single hit.
well, if there's one thing pvz gw has taught me, it's that just because an enemy can hear you but can't see you, doesn't mean you can get splatted easily... the enemy will most likely aimlessly shoot at the ink, while you can get the ambush and splat them... or, how pvz gw likes to call it, vanquish the enemy
Ninja Squid is my favorite ability in the game. You aren't completely masked but in a high intensity setting you won't see someone with Ninja Squid on unless you have a scope. At least that's how it goes for me. I main the Octobrush and when I'm doing good I get about 14 on average I'd guess. I really like it but I understand why some people don't.
IMO, Ninja Squid is fun to use in turf mode and maybe even a little on clams, but is much less useful outside of it. I don't get the hate on thermal ink in this video. It's not the best for every weapon, but it works well with a lot of them in the game. Information is everything, and there's no easier way to accrue it than thermal ink. I particularly like it in splat zones.
To me, (For someone who mains a Sploosh-O-Matic) I don't really like Thermal Ink, but, maybe by the end of the month, I'll give it a try, since, I rarely use it. But, In Your Opinion, whats a great weapon to use with Thermal Ink? This is so that I can enjoy using this weapon, and hopefully, I am already trying to main the weapon you said that Thermal Ink is good with. Just, as Long as it's not a Splatling that isn't the Nautilus version, or a Blaster, that cant be used in Rapid succession, then I will at least attempt it, if it is those weapons and those weapons only (Which, I highly doubt) than count me out. I know this was released before the Haunt buff, so this is more of an update than anything: Haunt now tracks your killers indefinitely until they die themselves. that means that if you die to all four enemy players at some point in the match, you'll be able to keep tabs on all of them until the next time they die. (With the typical limitations of thermal ink) idk if this would change its standing in this list, but it makes it a LOT more useable.
I feel like ninja squid is the worst out of all the abilities. It’s only strong against new or unskilled players. I wish ninja squid would Hide the white dot you see when you hold your charge while using chargers and the Nautilus. That would make ninja squid way better and more people would use the Goo Tuber and Nautilus. Thermal ink can be really powerful with certain weapons like the Sloshing Machine, Explosher and the Bamboozler. Haunt is really good in 1v1’s and is really strong with comeback and quick respawn. Respawn punisher and haunt are personally my favorites but that is just my opinion. NOTE: I put this comment on Vasko’s old video but he reuploaded it so put it on this one.
To add on to Respawn Punisher: I’d equip it to weapons with sub-par specials, like Tenta Missiles or Splashdown. The special depletion won’t hurt that bad on a weapon that doesn’t have a good special, but a sub that fits the main weapon really well. Example? Dark Tetras or the recent Kensa Sloshing Machine. Both main weapons are just good and seem to work with any kit. Slap some Respawn Punisher on that and you’ve got a really good main weapon.
My favorite abilities have to be thermal ink and respawn punisher ^^ Thermal ink is great on dualies (one of my mains) and if you’re skilled with the charger then respawn punisher is great! And from my experience with respawn punisher, the thing I’ve noticed that while it does take longer to respawn, it’s only by a few seconds. The thing that’s effected most by respawn punisher is the special gauge (gage??). I think over half (don’t quote me on that) of the special gauge is lost if the user with respawn punisher is splatted. So unless you don’t die often, probably not the best ability to use unless you pile on special saver or special recovery up
I'm pretty sure respawn punisher negates most of the effect of quick respawn, so you can use it to counter quick respawn but it's a waste to stack it yourself.
Thermal ink is SO GOOD with splatlings, gals, and squelchers. I main those weapons, and often I will tag an enemy without killing them, and then I will be able to spot them and splat them after I recover. 10/10 with heavy splatling remix
I love the thermal ink ability. When I use my Custom Hydra against snipers (The Hydra has almost the same or LONGER range than most chargers) I can see them charging behind walls, then I finish them off with fall-off damage :)
My top 3: 3-Thermal Ink 2-Ability Doubler(Splatfest tee replica) 1-Respawn Punisher(you know what gear Im talkin bout. Pearlescent Hoodie) I was gonna put Haunt on the list, but realized that it and Thermal Ink are literally the same.
tip: I recommend ninja squid for shorter ranged weapons, like sploosh. one time i was using a pro, and i could tell dapple dualies we’re swimming over to me to kill me. (they did that a lot in the few rounds i played with them) luckily, i was facing the way they were coming towards me, so i was able to see the ripples and get them before they got me. if they had ninja squid, i wouldn’t be able to see them too well. (they had more map control and it was on shellendorf institute)
I use ninja squid ( roller main aha ) and I have all swim speed but 3 slots ( since I don't have enough chunks yet ) but , I think it would have deserved number 1 on the list , because although you say the other team can hear you swim or see the little itty bitty trail , most are too focused on the objective ( I play mostly ranked ) to notice , or to many other sounds play over your swimming sound , and many enemies forget which enemy has ninja squid because their focus becomes divided . But that's just my opinion ! I've just been a lot more successful after using ninja squid and 2 main , and 6 sub of swim speed . THIS IS A CORRECTION Ability doubler you can only get it on a splatfest tee nah you can get it on any shirt when i was ordering a negative longcuff sweater [it was a pure], i got ability doubler ask other people i dont have a hacked switch
Thermal Ink with the Bloblobber has helped me stay comfy in X rank. Most people underestimate the Blob but you can truly bully opponents with good use of bouncy bubbles and Thermal Ink.
0:40 I have a shirt in splatoon 2 that has ALL run speed up (didn't use ability tokens, it was all thanks to RNGesus), and that shirt I have been using for a long time, only changing what head gear and what shoes I'm wearing to go with what weapon that I'm using
Now that ability doubler is permenant there is something else of note. It allows you a much greater range of abilities. Since 1 main roughly translates to 3 subs, you basically have 18 total sub slots, but 9 of them have to be spent on 3 ofs, while doubler means 6 have to be spent on 3 ofs, but another 6 are on 2 ofs. Giving you an interesting trade for a little more control
About ninja squid: every one says this YoU cAn HeAr ThEm SwImMiNg... HOW!? People somehow hear this obscure sound over the music, your own weapon and Specials going off in the background all in the middle of the chaos that is this game! y'all got 400$ headphones on 24/7
When the meta was all about pure gear, ability doubler wasn't great, but most build now favor on main abillity and a couple chunks tooled for individual playstyle. It's actually pretty good now for not hogging other slots with one or two chunks of nonprimary specialization. Really depends on your weapon needs though.
I’m clearly late, but, Themal ink is so good with the Bloblobber it’s amazing. Even if these cunce are running I don’t need line of sight to splat anyone. It also vastly improves upon the technique of ‘pinging’ for players. I picked that up from Junkrat in OW (when that game was good) you can bounce shots around in a way that lets you get an idea of where people are based on if you hit them or not. But with Thermal ink you can deadass just see them upon a hit and line up shots.
I'm sorry Vasko, but Respawn Punisher's effects do not stack. You can even check it in your own footage. Also, trying to diminish the Respawn and Special Gauge effects by wearing Quick Respawn and Special Saver is definitely not worth it, since Respawn Punisher pretty much kills these Abilities almost entirely. While this may sound like a bad thing, it's also one of Respawn Punisher's greatest features: nullifying your Opponents' Abilities by reducing their effects *a lot*.
Huh it did look like it stacked with Haunt at least. And the splatoon wiki confirmed that they do stack. And its part of the patch notes in 3.0 (it didn't used to stack before): "Fixed an issue causing Respawn Punisher to not take effect when defeated by an enemy with that gear ability while the player also had Respawn Punisher equipped."
My favorite is definitely Ninja Squid, bc I just love the sound of it but also that I could just sneak up on people and splash them. I don't think a lot of people pay attention to the trails I leave when I'm swimming in the ink, since they're likely to be more focused on covering ground and looking out for other opponents shooting at them. I bought that Pullover Coat with the Ninja Squid ability yesterday and I swear I'm not taking it off ever again. :'D (sorry for my bad English btw)
Respawn Punisher is definitely a good ability to use when using weapons like Splatlings or Chargers. I run it all the time with my Splat Charger and Splatterscope, since I can get enemies from a distance without having to be straight up in their face. It can help for keeping enemies down longer and allow your team to make more pushes
I use ninja Squid because I like to sneak up on people, and when you splashdown, you can swim away because they don’t see you, Plus, you can swim up close to players if you have a short ranked weapon such as inkbrush, splooshomatics, carbon rollers, etc.
Edit: Why need Ninja Squid when u can recreate its effects by flicking the left stick to swim without creating ripples ((i forgot what this was called but yea)) as a charger main who tries to act as a team beacon ((not that anyone remembers that i exist)) i should probably give respawn punisher a try... if i stop dying and get my aim together,that is. -content’s still amazing as ever btw-
because no matter how fast you flick, you'll be going slow af or causing accidental ripples by flicking too fast. while ninja squid you can stack swim speeds on it and go fast af boy. depends which one you see as better.

I thought Ninja Squid would totally be number 1... until when you were explaining it's placement at 3, you said that you still make noise when you swim. Since I never play with audio (I always watch TH-cam while I play) I had no idea. That's really good to know! It's still my favorite shirt exclusive ability because it fits my playstyle best, but now I'll have to be extra careful when trying to sneak around. Thanks!
i would use haunt thanks to the 4.6.0 update haunt last infinite and they suffer respawn punisher once you splat them back since you just respawn normally since i don't use respawn punisher its true that you said that every time ya splat an enemy they do take longer to respawn and lose more of the special gauge but if YOU get splated you suffer it i use haunt instead and i think respawn punisher is rather a dangerous risky ability and i would say haunt is the best
There actually is one very specific way you can make Ability Doubler work: You wanna use as many diffrent abilities as possible making sure the Ability Doubler effect is spread out on multiple Abilities, It's also very imprortant to note that you should not use any Pures when having Ability Doubler equiped, You can use 2 Subs of an ability aslong as It's not on the Ability Doubler... I never said it was a good reason to use it, But atleast It's a reason since you can't spread out your Main Ability to multiple Abilities
I sorta think ninja squid is good. I have had a good amount of uses where it helped a ton. Its good for sneaking away if ur getting spawn camped and i dont really mind the speed decrease. Sure it does have downsides but it can be useful in a pinch! Or you could just swim slowly like they bug you to do in single player... But come on who does that?
At first, I tried Respawn punisher, but it doesn't work that well with my one sub special saver and hero shot, but thanks to my one swim speed of sub and drop roller's swim speed boost, it can be a dangerous combo, especially during close combat since Respawn punisher is mostly used for long range weapons like Chargers, Splatlings, and sloshers, while ninja squid is more of intense action
I think the best strategy for respawn punisher is to have a shoe and hat that has a main ability of quick respawn and the sub abilities special saver, or the other way around.
Considering I got ~28 splats per match in Clam Blitz earlier today before I realized I was wearing Respawn Punish... yeah, it's a bit OP if you're good at avoiding the un-alive (EDIT: for reference, A-, NZap 85, and I normally hit around 8-13 splats per match)
Thermal ink works great with the hydra splatling. You get plenty of direct hits, and you are always far enough to make use of it. Great for Tower Control.
here’s the thing about respawn punisher. Death, obviously is inevitable in battle. The nerfs are even more applied to you than the person you kill, making it basically useless, other than a wasted slot in your ability slots. Yeah, its ok for backliners, but like i said before, the nerfs also apply to you. Also, no. Quick Respawn doesnt affect Respawn Punisher. Stackong Special Saver won’t be beneficial either because on most weapons, you want to use other things than just negating it, like value subs (quick super jump, special saver, ink resistance. They all do so much at such a little amount its amazing.) For example, a splattershot. You’d want to run 2 subs of main power up for more junping consistency, Stealth Jump for less risky jump ins (I disagree with shredder being at number one as well but we will get to that) and 1 main 1 sub to a pure of quick respawn allowing for more risky plays.
Tip for RP: Try using the Custom Hydra with RP. Not only is it a mean combo, but you have the range, damage, and firerate to keep yourself safe from most enemies and can even challenge some chargers.
I prefer to use thermal ink as i play splatlings often and usually aim for players right at the end of my range. Thermal ink allows me to see players that I’ve damaged after they’ve run away (which happens often) so I can chase them.
hust for anyone woundering about how much QR and SS you need to counteract the decrease of Punicher: you need roughly 3subs of ether ability to be able to get rid of all the negation of Respawn punishe+get a lil bit extra more~
Can anyone explain why repawn punisher is good when we supposedly have skill based matchmaking and ranked separates by skill? If it harms you more than the other person, it'll only performs well if you get many more splats than you yourself are splatted consistantly, and if that's the case, you're in the wrong bracket? At least the others provide some benefit consistantly?
Inkling Razz what ability’s do you have on your gear? Because special saver and quick respawn aren’t the best for the carbon. If your a carbon deco main I would suggest sub power up because it makes you throw burst bombs further. And swim and run speed would help to. When I play carbon deco I use ink saver main, quick super jump, special charge up and swim speed up. But if you are really good with the carbon you can try respawn punisher and if you like it then use it. I have a friend that’s a carbon roller deco main she’s a rank x player and she uses respawn punisher a lot. It’s all about personal preference though.

I'm still sad that the Neo Octoling Armor has Haunt, of all abilities. Ik it's not bad, but it's not good, either (for my purposes of back-lining). It's one of my best shirts when trying to look good, but the Haunt keeps it from being better. You can't change it, either - it's Octo Expansion Exclusive, so you can't change it by ordering through Murch, even if you do have it yourself. I honestly wish we could change the Main Abilities on our gear tbh.
I do like ninja squid though and if you go slow they will not hear you but with no ninja squid it's the same but if you have a lot of swim speed up it might help when going slow in squid mode
so i would have to say ninja squid would have to be second because most of the time people don't notice the sound nor the path that they leave but if it were like a 1v1 i wouldn't suggest it but the thing it usually they will be doing something else and won't notice you swimming
I have ninja squid on my current clothing (the reason is that i was trying to get ninja squid clothing with 3 ability slots and my favoritw clothing haad ninja squid at splatnet) but im thinking about changing it. I main dualies in turf war and chargers in ranked. What ability would you recomend?
Respawn punisher seems great for chargers since you tend to stay back and play more defensively. Dualies are probably fine with Ninja squid but might benefit from haunt

you know if you hit a direct shot with any weapon the affect apply (meaning it's only the blasters that one shot it have no effect with)

When I was using it to test it out I played it in rainmaker and tower and it was super useful for making rainmaker pushes. I do hope it gets more use

The Ability Doubler is now on a piece of gear you get with the game (after the last splatfest, you got a tee replica.)

I'm pretty sure respawn punisher negates most of the effect of quick respawn, so you can use it to counter quick respawn but it's a waste to stack it yourself.
Ability doubler can be useful as long as you have multiple abilities on your shirt, since you'd get 6 points out of it instead of 3.
Thermal ink is SO GOOD with splatlings, gals, and squelchers. I main those weapons, and often I will tag an enemy without killing them, and then I will be able to spot them and splat them after I recover. 10/10 with heavy splatling remix
I love the thermal ink ability. When I use my Custom Hydra against snipers (The Hydra has almost the same or LONGER range than most chargers) I can see them charging behind walls, then I finish them off with fall-off damage :)

one time i was using a pro, and i could tell dapple dualies we’re swimming over to me to kill me. (they did that a lot in the few rounds i played with them) luckily, i was facing the way they were coming towards me, so i was able to see the ripples and get them before they got me. if they had ninja squid, i wouldn’t be able to see them too well. (they had more map control and it was on shellendorf institute)
I use ninja squid ( roller main aha ) and I have all swim speed but 3 slots ( since I don't have enough chunks yet ) but , I think it would have deserved number 1 on the list , because although you say the other team can hear you swim or see the little itty bitty trail , most are too focused on the objective ( I play mostly ranked ) to notice , or to many other sounds play over your swimming sound , and many enemies forget which enemy has ninja squid because their focus becomes divided . But that's just my opinion ! I've just been a lot more successful after using ninja squid and 2 main , and 6 sub of swim speed . I defiantly recommend it for my fellow roller mains , since we are a one hit kill when very close range . Nice video btw ! Keep up the good work ! Sorry for such a long comment

Now that ability doubler is permenant there is something else of note. It allows you a much greater range of abilities. Since 1 main roughly translates to 3 subs, you basically have 18 total sub slots, but 9 of them have to be spent on 3 ofs, while doubler means 6 have to be spent on 3 ofs, but another 6 are on 2 ofs. Giving you an interesting trade for a little more control
About ninja squid: every one says this YoU cAn HeAr ThEm SwImMiNg... HOW!? People somehow hear this obscure sound over the music, your own weapon and Specials going off in the background all in the middle of the chaos that is this game! y'all got 400$ headphones on 24/7
When the meta was all about pure gear, ability doubler wasn't great, but most build now favor on main abillity and a couple chunks tooled for individual playstyle. It's actually pretty good now for not hogging other slots with one or two chunks of nonprimary specialization. Really depends on your weapon needs though.
I’m clearly late, but, Themal ink is so good with the Bloblobber it’s amazing. Even if these cunce are running I don’t need line of sight to splat anyone. It also vastly improves upon the technique of ‘pinging’ for players. I picked that up from Junkrat in OW (when that game was good) you can bounce shots around in a way that lets you get an idea of where people are based on if you hit them or not. But with Thermal ink you can deadass just see them upon a hit and line up shots.
I'm sorry Vasko, but Respawn Punisher's effects do not stack. You can even check it in your own footage.
Also, trying to diminish the Respawn and Special Gauge effects by wearing Quick Respawn and Special Saver is definitely not worth it, since Respawn Punisher pretty much kills these Abilities almost entirely. While this may sound like a bad thing, it's also one of Respawn Punisher's greatest features: nullifying your Opponents' Abilities by reducing their effects *a lot*.
Huh it did look like it stacked with Haunt at least. And the splatoon wiki confirmed that they do stack.
And its part of the patch notes in 3.0 (it didn't used to stack before): "Fixed an issue causing Respawn Punisher to not take effect when defeated by an enemy with that gear ability while the player also had Respawn Punisher equipped."

My favorite is definitely Ninja Squid, bc I just love the sound of it but also that I could just sneak up on people and splash them. I don't think a lot of people pay attention to the trails I leave when I'm swimming in the ink, since they're likely to be more focused on covering ground and looking out for other opponents shooting at them. I bought that Pullover Coat with the Ninja Squid ability yesterday and I swear I'm not taking it off ever again. :'D

Respawn Punisher is definitely a good ability to use when using weapons like Splatlings or Chargers. I run it all the time with my Splat Charger and Splatterscope, since I can get enemies from a distance without having to be straight up in their face. It can help for keeping enemies down longer and allow your team to make more pushes
I use ninja Squid because I like to sneak up on people, and when you splashdown, you can swim away because they don’t see you, Plus, you can swim up close to players if you have a short ranked weapon such as inkbrush, splooshomatics, carbon rollers, etc.
Edit: Why need Ninja Squid when u can recreate its effects by flicking the left stick to swim without creating ripples ((i forgot what this was called but yea))
as a charger main who tries to act as a team beacon ((not that anyone remembers that i exist)) i should probably give respawn punisher a try...

because no matter how fast you flick, you'll be going slow af or causing accidental ripples by flicking too fast. while ninja squid you can stack swim speeds on it and go fast af boy. depends which one you see as better.

I thought Ninja Squid would totally be number 1... until when you were explaining it's placement at 3, you said that you still make noise when you swim. Since I never play with audio (I always watch TH-cam while I play) I had no idea. That's really good to know! It's still my favorite shirt exclusive ability because it fits my playstyle best, but now I'll have to be extra careful when trying to sneak around. Thanks!
If we are being honest though, meta wise, Ninja Squid is most definitely number 1
i would use haunt thanks to the 4.6.0 update haunt last infinite and they suffer respawn punisher once you splat them back since you just respawn normally since i don't use respawn punisher its true that you said that every time ya splat an enemy they do take longer to respawn and lose more of the special gauge but if YOU get splated you suffer it i use haunt instead and i think respawn punisher is rather a dangerous risky ability and i would say haunt is the best
There actually is one very specific way you can make Ability Doubler work: You wanna use as many diffrent abilities as possible making sure the Ability Doubler effect is spread out on multiple Abilities, It's also very imprortant to note that you should not use any Pures when having Ability Doubler equiped, You can use 2 Subs of an ability aslong as It's not on the Ability Doubler... I never said it was a good reason to use it, But atleast It's a reason since you can't spread out your Main Ability to multiple Abilities
I sorta think ninja squid is good. I have had a good amount of uses where it helped a ton. Its good for sneaking away if ur getting spawn camped and i dont really mind the speed decrease. Sure it does have downsides but it can be useful in a pinch!
Or you could just swim slowly like they bug you to do in single player...

At first, I tried Respawn punisher, but it doesn't work that well with my one sub special saver and hero shot, but thanks to my one swim speed of sub and drop roller's swim speed boost, it can be a dangerous combo, especially during close combat since Respawn punisher is mostly used for long range weapons like Chargers, Splatlings, and sloshers, while ninja squid is more of intense action

I think the best strategy for respawn punisher is to have a shoe and hat that has a main ability of quick respawn and the sub abilities special saver, or the other way around.

Considering I got ~28 splats per match in Clam Blitz earlier today before I realized I was wearing Respawn Punish... yeah, it's a bit OP if you're good at avoiding the un-alive
(EDIT: for reference, A-, NZap 85, and I normally hit around 8-13 splats per match)
Thermal ink works great with the hydra splatling. You get plenty of direct hits, and you are always far enough to make use of it. Great for Tower Control.
here’s the thing about respawn punisher.
Death, obviously is inevitable in battle. The nerfs are even more applied to you than the person you kill, making it basically useless, other than a wasted slot in your ability slots. Yeah, its ok for backliners, but like i said before, the nerfs also apply to you.
Also, no. Quick Respawn doesnt affect Respawn Punisher. Stackong Special Saver won’t be beneficial either because on most weapons, you want to use other things than just negating it, like value subs (quick super jump, special saver, ink resistance. They all do so much at such a little amount its amazing.) For example, a splattershot. You’d want to run 2 subs of main power up for more junping consistency, Stealth Jump for less risky jump ins (I disagree with shredder being at number one as well but we will get to that) and 1 main 1 sub to a pure of quick respawn allowing for more risky plays.
Tip for RP: Try using the Custom Hydra with RP. Not only is it a mean combo, but you have the range, damage, and firerate to keep yourself safe from most enemies and can even challenge some chargers.
I didn't know Haunt worked like Respawn Punisher... but without the drawbacks. Is there a way to lengthen the durations however?

I prefer to use thermal ink as i play splatlings often and usually aim for players right at the end of my range. Thermal ink allows me to see players that I’ve damaged after they’ve run away (which happens often) so I can chase them.

Can anyone explain why repawn punisher is good when we supposedly have skill based matchmaking and ranked separates by skill? If it harms you more than the other person, it'll only performs well if you get many more splats than you yourself are splatted consistantly, and if that's the case, you're in the wrong bracket? At least the others provide some benefit consistantly?

Inkling Razz what ability’s do you have on your gear? Because special saver and quick respawn aren’t the best for the carbon. If your a carbon deco main I would suggest sub power up because it makes you throw burst bombs further. And swim and run speed would help to. When I play carbon deco I use ink saver main, quick super jump, special charge up and swim speed up. But if you are really good with the carbon you can try respawn punisher and if you like it then use it. I have a friend that’s a carbon roller deco main she’s a rank x player and she uses respawn punisher a lot. It’s all about personal preference though.

I'm still sad that the Neo Octoling Armor has Haunt, of all abilities. Ik it's not bad, but it's not good, either (for my purposes of back-lining).
It's one of my best shirts when trying to look good, but the Haunt keeps it from being better. You can't change it, either - it's Octo Expansion Exclusive, so you can't change it by ordering through Murch, even if you do have it yourself.
I honestly wish we could change the Main Abilities on our gear tbh.
Nija squid and stealth jump plus a few stablizing abilities and you have the stealthiest squid
I honestly like Ninja squid (I'm using it right now btw) and the one that hides your super jump.
I do like ninja squid though and if you go slow they will not hear you but with no ninja squid it's the same but if you have a lot of swim speed up it might help when going slow in squid mode
Thermal ink is really useful with my Explosher, so its a lot harder for people to escape me

Respawn punisher seems great for chargers since you tend to stay back and play more defensively.
Dualies are probably fine with Ninja squid but might benefit from haunt
