I use this every trip when I go to the river. Minimum 6 times a year, usually more like 10 times a year for the last 3 or 4 years with it. I tie it off to my raft and let it hit and drag on everything. I like abusing my gear to see just how what it can take. A couple times my raft has deflated and I used the back pack as my floatation device, with all my belongings and everyone else’s inside of it. I can’t say enough about this bag.
Great video!! I’m also stuck between this bag and the Crossroads 27. Would you recommend as an all around bag? Not all my travels/adventures end up with water but the water proofing is a definite plus in my book. I look at it as is better to have the xtra features even if not always used under such conditions rather than need the xtra features and not have them. Just wanted your opinion please. Thank you
Nice review Huy. No question about the quality, but I find yeti to be over-priced for almost all of their products. Paying too much for the name at the moment, and there are comparable items out there that are much cheaper. Great test though, this is how reviews should be done.
Do you think this would work well as a travel bag? I might pick one up for $239 instead of their crossroads back pack that is similarly priced. The panga seemed like a better deal but I would only be using it for travel, hiking, vacations, gym etc. Thanks for any input you can offer.
Hey Lecruset, I personally will be using mine as a travel bag. But my travels always end up in some kind of boat and something gets wet. So it does work for my lifestyle. Its made quite basic so it doesn't have much for extra pouches on the outside. It doesn't even have a bottle holder. There is no padding for a laptop ect. The bag is very robust and thick. The zipper is so thick and overkill , opening and closing it makes it a little stiff and it could be annoying if you need to constantly grab your passport or documents. So if you needed a product that is super rugged and is essentially a glorified dry bag. This is the bag. The crossroads maybe more convenient for travelling and grabbing items like a passport or headphones ect.
Yeti is way overpriced IMO for what you truly get. You're paying for a name. Their coolers are overpriced as well as overhyped and I'd bet their backpacks are no different. I've had a Coleman and Yeti cooler side by side in Jacksonville FL which isn't anything like being in the Pacific where I currently live and the Coleman did just as well if not better on some days. Go with a good waterproof drybag backpack and save yourself >$100+. The test was at 1 ata with no outward pressure. How does it hold up to the pressure of just a few feet submerged or with waves pounding on it?
I do agree many yeti products are very overpriced. I have do own yeti coolers, mugs and even a yeti bucket. You can definitely get comparable coolers and mugs that perform the exact same for half the cost. As for the backpack its 5 times thicker then any of my dry bags and its puncture resistant. The only other comparable fly fishing backpack would be the Fishpond Thunderhead which is 70 usd more then the Yeti Panga. I am fairly happy with this one so far. Thank you for watching!

This bag has honestly impressed me. I abuse it so much and it holds up with no issues
3:05 that area inside the bag can be used to hang your small fishing lures when out fishing. I saw it from another TH-cam video. 😊👍
Awsome review Huy. Keep up the great work.
Hey thank you!! Appreciate the kind words!
Nice and tech
Thank you!!

Well done Huy👍. Very impressive bag. I was thinking it better not leak for being $400 😆. Great test n video brother 👊
I dont know what I would have done if my camera got soaked lol

True! yeti is definitely overprice but well marketed. Thank you for watching!
What backpack is compatible to this??
For $400 to bad it doesn't come with a divider system but again it's probably not specifically made for camera gear. Water proof can be pretty handy.
would have been nice it included the packing cubes forsure
That bad boy could act as a life raft too
That is true! I think they did tests on the backpack. They had to get a fully grown man to sit on the bag to try to get it fully submerged.

@@HuyFishin Perfect, thanks! looks like the crossroads will be a better fit for me.
You should do a pike fishing challenge with a sub. Loser has to kiss a fish. I'm down
hahaha That wouldn't be a bad idea lol You're in the edmonton area?
@@HuyFishin yes I live in Edmonton
Nice test, but... Eh. $400 for a bag. You can get waterproof cases for camera equipment, bags for other stuff and just rock a normal bag.
400 is definitely steep! might be cheaper for you in USD though haha definitely still priced quite high though
