I remember watching the world juniors in 2005. Everyone was talking about Crosby. I hadnt really even heard of Patrice Bergeron. After the tournament I remember thinking the MVP was Bergeron. And that is what you are left thinking after almost all games he has played in. What a leader. As a Canadians fan I wont mind not seeing him in a Bruins jersey any more.

The Bruins had one of the greatest regular seasons of all time, finishing with 135 points and only 12 losses. They scored 305 goals and had only 177 goals against, making a whopping 128 goal differential. They were on an 8 game winning streak heading into the playoffs.
The Panthers finished 43 points behind the Bruins in the standings, and squeaked into the playoffs on a 2 game losing skid.

Taking nothing away from Florida and Seattle, but Toronto's path to the Cup just became a tad more plausible; I hope I didn't jinx it. 😉
But a more important thing to me is the other big tournament that happens every year at this time. As I like to say: 'my favorite hockey team has a maple leaf on it's jersey, only it's red', and they're playing soon (IIHF World Cup starts May 12). Team Canada could be crazy good this year. McKinnon, Crosby, Stamkos, Makar, Letang, Marchant, Bergeron, Barzal; all are available to play. I mean, they still have to want to play, they're grown men and probably tired right about now, but if they do, it's going to be fun to watch.
