Glad to see you are back. You’ve received beautiful blocks. Thank-you for sharing the blocks, on which you are working. They are a wonderful tribute. Abuse against women is a world wide problem.
Beautiful work, Sarah. Violence against women is a crisis across the world . The blocks are a wonderful tribute to them and helps with awareness. Thank you 😊
The blocks you received are lovely. Your handwork is equally as beautiful. We are always our own worst critics. I especially like the pieces you are making in memory of women who have been victims of violence - a beautiful tribute. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Gorgeous Sarah...you and your sister Rachel are just soooooooo talented!!!...I watch you both in awe...Huge hugs...Maxxii-Michelle....Perth Western Australia xxxxx

I've been watching Susanna's channel, so have watched her creating your piece and just loved it! I love the idea you have to make them into a fabric book! Love the blocks you're making in honor of the women murdered due to domestic violence ... such heartbreaking scenarios that play out far too much in our societies!
Thanks very much Sharon. Yes domestic violence is a huge problem all over the world and I think it’s important that we pay attention to what’s going on and try and help. 💖
So Great to see you Sarah...and Wow...those blocks you've created to honor women that are victims of domestic and violence of any kind is incredibly touching (tears..) they're beautiful Sarah...and thank you for sharing the blocks you received as part of your collaboration...You are all so talented and inspiring!!! xo

What a meaningful example of craftivism, Sarah. Beautiful memorial of these women who have suffered mightily at the hands of those they love... thank you for sharing.
So wonderful having you return and I adore this idea of the slow stitch collaboration! Such talent from these two ladies! Gorgeous blocks! Such an incredible idea for the violence against women blocks! Wow! TFS the incredible inspiration, Sarah!
So happy to see you back on here. I know as a teacher and mom you are really busy. I see you also live on a farm or ranch and that takes an incredible amount of time.
It was a wonderful surprise to wake up to a video from you. Good to hear your voice and see the beautiful stitching. Stay well and safe. Your friend in Louisiana,USA. ❤️🐨👩🏼🏫
Love your work. Hope you will keep making videos but understand the crunch on time. Such a great cause to remember those women who have been abused. ❤️
So great to see you back Sarah, I love your style so much :) Melanie and Susanna's creations are beautiful and very inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing your project in highlighting domestic violence in Australia, I'm also moved by this issue as an Australian woman, and the beauty of your creations, for those whose lives were shortened by DV made me quite emotional, to think you have given them a voice and a memory with your beautiful stitching is something so much more worthwhile than almost anything I can think of, except of course helping to stop DV altogether. Lisa
Gorgeous slow stitching blocks. I’m sure yours are just as beautiful but a different style as u said. 🌷That’s a wonderful cause your getting involved in and the work you have done on them is just beautiful..so sad any woman has to be a victim of any violence..😔
Sarah that is amazing! Your work to honour and highlight violence against women, particularly indigenous women, is just fantastic, it's a cause close to my heart also. Can't wait to see the last one too. My son lived with his Dad for 3 years between ages 10 -13 on the other side of the country and I only got to see him school holidays (half of each) so I totally get missing your boy. The blocks you've received are beautiful and I'm sure a textile book will be just beautiful. Hang in there. Hugs
Hi Sarah, Nice to see you. These slow stitching pieces you received are gorgeous. I just saw the piece you completed for Lauretta. Gorgeous. Love the garden theme. 💞🤗💕
How very nice to see you again Sarah! Those are incredibly lovely. The abused women project you shared is so touching and your work on the first square is incredibly touching. Bringing awareness of the plight of abused women everywhere is so vitally important. Thank you! ❤️
I don't know how I missed this video! The blocks from Melanie and Susanna are just gorgeous!!! I got goosebumps listening to you talk about the murdered Australian women. Forty-five times. Wow. Take care!! xo
Sarah, what a great video - a lovely mixture, and the last part very moving. Thank you so much for sharing all of that with us. Textile work is such a direct connection to and for women especially, but also men and here I am thinking about the Aids quilts. It is a strong sort of memento mori for those who die by force or too soon. I look forward to seeing all the results of the collaboration pieces together. Stay safe.
Lo e seeing this project that the seven of you are doing. Each piece is so beautiful and different. The second project you are doing is wonderful and such a worthy cause.
So nice to see you again 👏👏😀 I also list my mojo after we moved and after 2 months I got my craftroom up and going but I couldn’t seems to figure out where to start and what to do. I had all this ideas in my head and I still struggling what to do. I have made so many journaling cards now so I have to kickstart my mojo in some kind of way. I love to see what you have made 👏👏😀 Many blessings from the other side of the world- Denmark 🇩🇰 Hugs Tina 🍂🍁
Oh my goodness- I was just sending Rachel a message, and you came up. Thinking you were Rachel.I am so happy to meet you. I Hope you come back soon. The best quilt EVER. 😢 very sensitive. What a FANTASTIC loving the concept. I love the meaning of the quilt blocks. 😢 but what a way to memorialize these sweet woman/ girls. You are all abundantly blessed Hugs🦋
Sarah! So lovely to see you again - and to see your beautiful stitching projects. I'm following your collab, and so excited to see these two blocks. Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us, and hugs!
I love the blocks of the women. ... Plus your work is every bit as good as the others you are doing the swap with. You are all very talented and each gives me inspiration.
Hi Sarah, wonderful meeting you via your sister Rachel. I have “crossed stitched” since age 7. I’ve only made one small embroidery( slow stitch) 12x12 for my daughter in law for a special occasion her wedding day 🦋 I made 4 years ago. My 2 daughters. Each for their weddings. I made them all 12x12. A very special gift form me to them. I have a daughter not married yet. This has got me going through my Hope chest. It is a cedar chest of their great grandmothers. When I saw Rachel’s video. I am truly going to pick this up again. You, Rachel and several classes of extraordinary slow stitch on TH-cam and Pinterest . I was overwhelmed with excitement. I quickly grabbed tea and went through some while sitting on the floor. Got approximately 30 minutes, of memories started to flooded my heart and I took a break. I’ve been extremely unwell since November 2019. And I’ve become very sensitive, 😢 I will continue to watch videos and take my notes. I’ve been watching each of those who I have much of common with. I take any note of items I need to create similar to Rachel’s and now you🤗 and 8 others I have subscribed to. Facebook, TH-cam videos, Pinterest, Instagram I just could spend hours looking at all the slow sti hrs. Your’e incredibly blessed. Have a lovely day, filed with much slow stitch 🧵 god bless, you Sarah.
Hi Cheryl Sorry for the late reply- for some strange reason this comment has only just come through. What a lovely story. I hope that you have got yourself into some slow stitching. Are you doing the Anne Brooke tag challenge? It's a great thing to do as they are pretty quick to make and you will do one each week. She will also be doing different stitches so you might even learn something new. Anyway, thanks for following along. Sarah :)
It was so so good to listen to you again! Please please please take us along again on some paper grafting. You are absolutely inspirational. But I appreciate all your craft you share. It is beautiful and inspirational.
Sarah where have you been? I have missed you so much! Your sister just happened to mention you and I did a search for you. I'm so glad that you are back. The blocks are beautiful! Tyfs! Hope to see you soon!❤

Welcome back from your TH-cam family, Sarah! Thank you for sharing both of the gorgeous blocks you’ve received and the beautiful tribute blocks to very special Australian women. Your work reflects your wonderful style and creativity and that’s just the way it should be. Your garden fabric book will be a real treasure when completed! 😀
You’d never know you haven’t done a video in so long! You did such a good job! The panels are gorgeous. They look so cute side by side. I can’t wait to see the rest and your project with them. The tribute to abused women is heartbreaking. To have to do this is so sad, but thank you. We need to be made aware of this. It says a lot about your heart to do this. Take care and so nice to see you Sarah. Hugs
these are stunning & look quite complex. i'm so confused about the term slow stitching. in other vids, the term just means a simple straight stitch. these examples seem VERY advanced, compared with these. not necessary novice friendly. did i miss something?
There are a lot of different thoughts on what slow stitching is. I believe that term is actually quite modern and describes techniques that have been around for a very long time. I have heard the term being used to describe the straight running stitch that is used in Indian Kantha quilts and Japanese Boro quilts. I have also heard the term slow stitch being used to describe mindfully creating something using needle and thread- so that includes any form of hand stitching which is what this collaboration did. The general idea is that it is relaxing. Yes there is some advanced stitching in these blocks but the simple running or straight stitch is where it all begins and is something that I use all the time.
As you describe the project your currently working on I got cold chills. My daughter was in a marriage with physical abuse. She was very nearly strangled on Dec 27, 2003. He also hit their 3 year child the same morning. I often pray thanks that my daughter was not killed and was strong enough to get out of the marriage. The courts make domestic abuse so hard on women. She fought over 3 years to get full custody of my granddaughter. The judge kept giving him chance after chance to straighten out. He is currently serving time in prison for doing exactly the same thing to his second partner.
So good to see you again! I am glad you are well. But, I can't imagine having my child that far away from me when he was younger. The slow stitching blocks are absolutely gorgeous. All those wonderful colors and textures! Thank you for sharing those with us and for sharing the blocks to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse. That is going to be an amazing project when finished. I actually think it is amazing now; just the blocks themselves! Take care of yourself.
I’m back. I hate having to go out while watching a Video. Ok I’m settled.what size are the blocks? I love tiny buttons as well. E bay always last, and I got the most beautiful baby cloths buttons in a sweet vintage glass baby 🍼 bottle. beautiful full of “baby buttons lot”
Hello there Sarah, it would be pretty difficult, I imagine, to be working and switch to a lot of creativity in between. Fun swap going on. Great memorial of the domestic violence. Mmmm, sounds like an horrific story.
