It's not. The comedy is terrible, every joke either failed to get a reaction out of me or made me cringe, while the PS2 games are hilarious, the music is so generic, it's got nothing on the PS2 games. A Crack in Time is a great game, I love the space exploration, the mini-planet adventure, the rocketboots, and Clank's time puzzles. Also the last 2 planets had some really cool time traveling missions which I wish were in all Ratchet games. The PS2 games were great because of their heavy satire on the evils of mega corporations, hell the evil company in the 2nd game is called Megacorp. So the wacky cheesy stuff was just in the commercials in the game, not the actual interactions between characters. I really miss the raw cutscenes in the PS2 games where they just felt like regular mundane conversations. Qwark is not funny in A Crack in Time, or Tools of Destruction, he has no purpose anymore. He was fantastic in the PS2 games because he represented the satire of the game, he was like the superheroes from the Amazon Prime TV Show The Boys, he was a public figure, who would pose and present himself as a heroic figure to the public, but he was really a greedy scumbag, he was the main villain's side kick in the first game, and the main villain in the 2nd game. Now he has no purpose so they make him Ratchet's stupid side kick(Reminder Qwark was not a complete idiot in the first 2 games, he has stupid moments but he wasn't a complete moron). Gameplay-wise, as stated earlier the music is not as epic, all main levels only have on single path, which is disappointing considering that the first 2 games gave you 2-3 paths per level, and you can choose which order you do them in. While I love the space travel and mini planet adventure, I am disappointed with the 2d space combat, it felt so generic, and I never cared to engage in space combat while flying around, but I do love the spaceship upgrades, especially how every space sector had a planet that was inaccessible until you collect enough Zoni to get a ship upgrade and surpass the security, that is fantastic game design especially for a platformer game. So yeah if you cared to read this long comment, then it would be obvious that the first 2 games are my favorite. A Crack in Time is the last good game in my opinion. It was the crossroads to destiny for the franchise, it introduced some of the coolest things in the series, Clank's gameplay is the best in the series, the mini-planet adventures and rocketboots are all great. But then there is the terrible comedy that you would expect from a Blue Sky Studio Movie. Unfortunately the series took the wrong path, instead of expanding on the epic features, they dumbed down this franchise for babies, and the PS4 reboot of the original is an absolute disgrace to the original.
Fun fact: When the music plays before Prog's ship attacks the Nebulox, it's not actually the song by Courtney Gears, but it was edited to avoid a copyright strike.
The new Ratchet is a disgrace to the original. I wouldn't be so bothered by it if it was just a movie tie-in but as a reboot to the original, absolutely atrocious and horrendous.
Really? The pre-rendered (I think?) cinematics in the PS4 titles which are, well, proper cutscenes, look great. The in-game segments are the ones that look bad. But the PS3 titles have those, as well--they just didn't zoom in on characters' faces...
To be honest I was born when a crack in time came and my sister was born when into the Nexus came so I played a lot of a crack in time at on the ps4 for the ps now and I play the beginning of into the Nexus
I was born a couple years before the first game came out and been playin' all the PS2 and main PS3 games for a while, my little bro was born when Quest For Booty was out but he mostly into different kinds of games such as Sonic.
The Future Series does great at character arcs and I could go on forever about what's amazing about it, but I love that scene in ToD when Ratchet & Clank are about to hug, see that Talwyn is watching, and they fist-bump instead. This makes it even better when their first real hug is in aCiT, when they're pretty sure they're not gonna hug again. Feels bad, man.
These games are simply amazing. the attention to detail and the voice acting quality is top notch. They approach Pixar quality. I can't wait to play the PS4 R&C game later today! :)

It sucks that the redesign they used for ratchet in a crack in time was only used for that specific game cause it was a perfect modernization of ratchets design and compared to his current design it just doesn't compare this one could just pull of so many expressions with ease

@@EmptyBrokenSad Well I wouldn't know what he's goin' through, I just got angry and heated at the moment cause seein' a comment like that just had me irritated, we all here cause we love the Ratchet series, so I apologise without forgiveness in this world we wouldn't find peace with eachother, and I know all about suicide, I used to be heavily depressed a few years back and got help from a psychiatrist so I know the feelin'.
