1:50 He did not. The ball is moving around and Nixon’s arms are moving around the ball to secure it. If you don’t secure the ball, you don’t have possession.
The one thing that make me doubt possession for Nixon is the hand on the right side of the football. It's clearly being held by Trotter at the same time. If he had full possession prior to Trotter getting a hand on it then the grip Trotter has on it wouldn't be possible. The contact was almost definitely a foul but the fumble was not clear enough to overturn.

I think it’s rather insane that a sports channel with 150k+ subs is making general opinion based statements that are wrong. Educate yourself before spewing wrong information upon your followers. Very irresponsible and quite disgusting tbh.
Nope, its what the defender does. It is inconsequential if the other player lowers his head. See buffalo v denver yesterday. Here is the actual rule: USE OF THE HELMET It is a foul if a player: lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent; or uses any part of his helmet or facemask to butt or make forcible contact to an opponent’s head or neck These provisions do not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or the helmet in the course of a conventional tackle or block on an opponent.
I don't know the letter of the law for helmet to helmet in the NFL, but in other tackle sports like rugby, you're not getting a high tackle call when the runner drops down like that on contact. The Eagles player was dropping his pad level for the tackle, and the returner met him at that level. The ball carier isn't some defenseless player here. They do have ability to adjust how the hit is taken.
Packers fan here - I can see why they might have erred on the side of caution and went with "stay with the call on the field" as they were tugging at that ball while he's on his back. Frustrating though, I feel like common sense should prevail and that call should have been overturned. It’s pretty clear he has it and is down by contact on his back for a few moments. That should be enough. I like the no helmet to to helmet call though... Nixon is a runner in the open field and lowers his head. You're not gonna get that call as a kick returner in the NFL.
Zero controversy. He may have put his hands back on the ball but it wasnt long enough, in real time, to be considered possession. On the replay it looked like maybe he did but in real time there was no way he had it long enough before it was ripped out a recovered.
We need a rule change. If there’s a fumble, then the defending team should have clear recovery of the ball to be rewarded possession. If there’s a pile up where recovery is not easily determined, then the offense should be rewarded possession.
Terrible because that was the classic case of targeting but that was not called. The defense is not allowed to lead with the crown of the helmet and make that kind of contact. He grabbed the ball and had possession after the illegal hit and was down by contact. To those that say you cannot do it frame by frame, that is how it is done all the time. So much holding on the next play that it was not called. I realize a lot of eagle fans are happy but I guess you are okay with cheating as long as you win. I did not care who won but the NFL like the NCAA has their favorites which is based on how much money is spent. All of these games are fixed and it is about time people accept that reality.
Last thing you see is that ball still moving when someone jumps on him, there’s not one point in the video where you can confidently say he definitely has it before they dog pile him. It’s not helmet to helmet when the defender comes in for a tackle and the runner lowers his head. Everyone’s arguing to argue or because they didn’t like the turn out
It wasn't a helmet to helmet flag because it was incidental, it was a clear fumble and 42 on the Eagles had his arm between the ball and the green bay player and it looked like they were fighting over it after that. It would be a call on who comes up with it after the scrum. I didnt see the play live but I assume the Eagles came up with the ball after the scrum.
I don't understand that if we as viewers at home can watch the overhead cams, and that's just one added view to things, why aren't the refs able to view those cameras as well? You would think that we have all these cameras at our disposal that they would use every single one of them to make sure the call is correct and in this case they blew it.
Not only did Keyshawn Nixon clearly recover the football while laying on the ground which means he’s down as far as I know !! I don’t hear anyone talking about the helmet to helmet targeting hit !!
@ OK in the NFL do they have a penalty called helmet to helmet? ??? Good golly. !!! is there a condition called CTE ? Meaning, chronic traumatic encephalopathy just curious tell me genius????

Hopefully didn't offend you on that comment. Keep up the good work! Really enjoy the way you break the videos down and can tell you really love the game and enjoy it !
Every team has been robbed by the refs. We all know that feeling. Immediately after this the Packers GAVE UP a TD. Don't give up the TD. Even then they had 59 minutes where they did not show they should win this game. This is a team that was 1-5 in their division.
As a Vikings fan Packers got robbed. This call was Total BS and the helmet shot oh my goodness. Cant wait to see more BS calls in the rest of the playoff season.
The ball was still loose when dejean grabbed it. It takes a lot more than what was in the replay to overturn calls and GB had plenty of favorable calls and no calls go their way. Love was terrible and the refs were what they are every other game of the year
@@DewgNews Objective reality is the Nixon recovered it. The ball was loose after Nixon held the ball for a couple of seconds on the ground and then he revored it AGAIN. You are objectively wrong there is nothing you can say that will change that it was the objectively wrong call.

Eagles fan here. I think the helmet to helmet wasn't called because Burks attempted to lower himself below Nixon's helmet. Nixon, then proceeded to drop down causing the helmet to helmet. Could it have been called helmet to helmet? It's really a tossup, IMO. In addition, Nixon attempted to corral the ball, but he never established control, i.e. Trotter could have just as easily been said to have established control. Look, not all calls go your way. The PI on Mitchell where Wicks flopped, wasn't PI IMO. Packers held J Carter all day (he's been held all season to be fair) but that's the way the post season crumbles. Packers have a solid team though. Jordan Love, going to be a good QB for years to come.
Of course you are going to disagree with all the conflicting calls. You're a biased eagles fan..you have other eagles fans that very much disagree with you
@trentpetersen8754 I didn't agree with the Wicks/Mitchell call, but I understood it, that was fantastic acting. Whether you agree with something is one thing, but understanding why things went down is more important. Like I said, you cannot establish control of the ball if someone's arm is between you and the ball and the ball is out of your hands within the next second.
Both of them had possession, they both had a hand on it so you can't say one had it more than the other. if the packers player had possession he wouldn't have lost it again after that. Of course when you stop the video it shows he had it but that ball was moving the entire time.
Eagles used their helmets A LOT in this game and nothing from the Refs. As for the fumble, for sure it was recovered by Nixon, but even this could / should have been overcome by the Packers. We have "on paper" a great Offensive scheme, BUT Matt & Jordan failed to deliver. Poor performance by the Offense in general and J-Love in particular. It's a game there for the taking but once again our star players failed to deliver. Massive rethink by coaches in pre-season and during the season to better prepare the players
At what point did philly ever have recovered that ball ..i dont see it . And that ref staff dhould be banned from nfl for fixing games and dports betting
I see we have a bunch of people in here that dont understand the rules. Imagine thinking the NFL is trying to help the Eagles as if the NFL doesnt hate them 😂
Honestly, it didn’t matter. Packers were hot garbage today. Even if this went the Packers’ way, they’d still would have gone 3 and out and gave it right over to the Eagles who would have scored anyway.
So not enough evidence to over turn would also imply there was not a clear recovery. When there isn’t a clear recovery doesn’t the ball stay with who had it? This is a bad call x2
Looks like the obnoxious Tom Grosso curse strikes again for the Packers😭😂Sucks too because that fanbase has a lot of cool fans, unlike those chronically online reddit weirdos who glaze an attention-seeking gatekeeper of a sports franchise. In which causes the football gods to punish them year after year lmao🧀

There's no controversy. That call was a straight up ripoff. Case closed. I hope Philly loses and falls short of the SB.
When that didn't throw the flag, have the eagles the recovery, AND kept the call after review, i knew the fix was in 😮💨
Zero controversy.
Also need to include the two eagle playes jumping on the pile late. Which is also another foul.
Everyone’s arguing to argue or because they didn’t like the turn out
A) the ball was continuously moving, and B) Trotter had as much of a "possession " of it. So no, it was NOT "clear possession" at all.
The announcer kept saying that it was a perfect clean hit right on the ball. Dude buried his helmet in his facemask.
I don't understand that if we as viewers at home can watch the overhead cams, and that's just one added view to things, why aren't the refs able to view those cameras as well? You would think that we have all these cameras at our disposal that they would use every single one of them to make sure the call is correct and in this case they blew it.
Clear possession and clear head to head contact still doesn’t excuse how we played today
Two things the refs rigged for the Eagles: blatant helmet to helmet on Burks and Kei recovered it. Game. Rigged.
The officials rarely call a penalty on first play but contact to the helmet is a penalty
Terrible call😭😭😭
GB winning just wasn't in the script, maybe next year.
Not only did Keyshawn Nixon clearly recover the football while laying on the ground which means he’s down as far as I know !! I don’t hear anyone talking about the helmet to helmet targeting hit !!
once and for all , this is the NFL , targeting is a college rule only. Good fucking grief.
@ OK in the NFL do they have a penalty called helmet to helmet? ??? Good golly. !!! is there a condition called CTE ? Meaning, chronic traumatic encephalopathy just curious tell me genius????
I've been watching your videos for a few months now. Don't change a thing. Perfect formula, very articulate, with an extremely human approach. That will serve you well, if doing this type of thing interests you as a career.
The slight lisp you have also somewhat invites attention, so don't change that.
Btw i cursed out the refs
As a Vikings fan Packers got robbed. This call was Total BS and the helmet shot oh my goodness. Cant wait to see more BS calls in the rest of the playoff season.
Facts. Great call for integrity of league
The ball was still loose when dejean grabbed it. It takes a lot more than what was in the replay to overturn calls and GB had plenty of favorable calls and no calls go their way. Love was terrible and the refs were what they are every other game of the year
You couldn’t be any more wrong
@ I like everything I said is just objective reality and you hit me with nuh uhh 😂😂
@@DewgNews Objective reality is the Nixon recovered it. The ball was loose after Nixon held the ball for a couple of seconds on the ground and then he revored it AGAIN. You are objectively wrong there is nothing you can say that will change that it was the objectively wrong call.
@@matthewthemilkbender8095 the ball was loose the entire time until dejean possessed it. Everyone who watched the replay including the refs saw the ball moving around like a bar of soap. You’re just mad about it
@ are you literally blind? Can you not see the ball not moving in Nixons control. It is clear as day. There is no other argument to be made
Eagles fan here.
Would have not happen in the first place if took a kneel instead of running it back, packers mistake all season long, Packer fan here btw
One of the all time worst calls
horrific officiating all year
Tell me you're a casual football fan without telling me you're a casual football fan...
1 Nixon did put his helmet down. So No to the the helmet to helmet complaint.
As a Packers fan, they had no place in the playoffs anyway. What a shameful season.
It doesn't matter if it slipped out because the Eagles NEVER had possession.
I'm a Vikings fan and that was a Packers ball. It hurts me deeply to say that.
The drone cam shows GB clearly had it. Why can’t officials use drone cam footage?
actually what it clearly showed was the ball moving.... wtf how hard is it ?
At what point did philly ever have recovered that ball ..i dont see it . And that ref staff dhould be banned from nfl for fixing games and dports betting
The ball never stopped moving and then Philly took it away. The intial review did look questionable though.
Controversial great call😊❤
Who was the dumb Packer who just watched instead of jumping on top of his team mate to protect him and the ball?
How the hell did that hold up after review? Complete arrogance to not admit your wrong!
This was the first of many, 2 of loves interceptions were clear PI calls
No helmet to helmet first thing is the runner lowered his head second it’s no helmet to helmet because the runner wasn’t defenseless when two people running at each other this is not college also and the only thing they could call is defenseless but that’s only on passing plays
It only took the open game kickoff to realize the Packers were not going to win this game. Should have been Packers ball....
Agree 110%
They obviously want eagles to win, worst call I’ve seen in a while. The packers definitely recovered on camera. There is zero video of eagles getting possession
Well the ball is still moving which means he does not have complete possession
The defender lowered his helmet and speared Nixon helmet to helmet. How is that not a penalty???
This + the no PI on that last throw lost the game for us. Of those 2 calls were correct it would have been packer win. Despite the poor play
If that was the only call that was wrong maybe but it wasn’t it went on the whole game especially the tackle in the end zone that was a eagles interception only thing that will fix it is stop giving the NFL our money for merchandise and tickets
