  • Excuse the imperfect sound recording, I didn't have access to a better microphone or recored other than in the Fujifilm X-T2 at the time of recording.
If I have the opportunity and anyone finds it of interest, I'll try to re-record with better audio equipment.

The Vifa Reykjavik is equally as impressive as the rest of the Vifa range - clear, free of over processing, no distortion and sounds good all the way up to full volume. Battery life has so far been fantastic, way better than any BeoPlay speaker I've tried, and maybe even better than the Bose Revolve.
Any distortion you hear in the video is either part of the song or from the camera microphone. The Beoplay P2 sounds more full and louder in the video than it's perceived in real life. It has some dynamic boost but above around 50% volume it reduces bass and compresses the output. It's impressively loud though, but not as pleasant and dynamic as the Vifa. Battery life of the P2 is terrible, 1-2 hours at any reasonable volume.

The good thing about the Vifa speakers is that they dont digitally process the sound much. Well tuned speakers dont' need that.

I hope the bass will improve in some kind of driver update :(

Thanks! Me too. The Reykjavik currently isn't supported by the Vifa iOS app, so no late night mode just yet. The bass is very well defined and controlled throughout the volume range, but a bit unimpressive at low volumes.
I use the equalizer in the Spotify app and it works very well!

    Nice review !
I'm hesitating between those 2 currently, the B&O seems to have more bass isn't it ?
Which one would you recommend ?

At the time of the review, the Vifa had the "old" firmware, where it kind of lacked in bass. But even then it was more powerful than the P2, and with the "new" firmware for the Vifa, it has more pronounced bass.
I really can't recommend the P2. It has less than 2 hours of battery life, and above 50% volume the bass reduces significantly. Even with the new firmware, the Vifa keeps the increasing the bass and overall dynamics up to around 95% volume and has 5-10 hours of batterylife depending on volume.

How does the Reykjavik compares to Beoplay A1 concerning loudness?

I had the A1 a while ago, and I remember it being about as loud as the Reykjavik. But the Vifa sounds a lot better and fuller at max volume, the A1 lowered bass after about 50% volume.
