Craig Todd Omg, I skipped the finger articulation!! Great question! The thumb rotates and has a hinge in the middle. The fingers dont have knuckle rotation but have two bends in each finger so you can make a fist.
I'd be careful calling the other versions that came out "Fakes". Comicave studios apparently stiffed their initial factory that was working on this figure. As such, that factory sold off what was produced.
Point taken. So I'm not fully informed on the matter, but I did see a Danoby review where his was ordered on ebay. It doesn't seem to have as much paint apps as mine and it looked like there was a defective chest plate. To me it looked like knock-off issues, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong. And it's also possible that the product from the initial factory didn't come out right. I honestly haven't spoken to anyone from Comicave about it, so I honestly don't really know.
@@ShartimusPrime No worries man, the whole thing has just been a cluster. This figure was supposed to be out back in August 2018... I just got mine from BBTS last month.
@@ShartimusPrime They are all from the same factory, and none are from Comicave. They did not pay the factory apparently so the factory put them out to regain their lost money.
Prolly the 2 most relevant comparables would be the SHF & Mafex versions IMO although SHF does not have the opening chest feature & Mafex does not have the light-up effects. The Mafex is the best value among the 3 (around $263 or so) IMO if you can live w/o the light-up effects (which I don't care about as find I rarely use) & Mafex QC issues. Agree this is the best looking & quality 1:12 scale version available. Thanks for the review.
But no ankle pivot, and the paint apps on this don’t look just a little better, they’re amazing compared to the others. But being truly honest, I’d like have hold the other 2 in hand to give a far comparison. Who knows, I might like the ankle pivotless MAFEX version more, but I honestly doubt it.
@@ShartimusPrime Yeah the no ankle pivot on the Mafex is a drawback that sb noted when determining whether it's a good value for the price. Prolly a deal breaker if full articulation is high up on the list of priorites, so good point.
Spectacular yes, a feat of engineering yes, expensive HELL YES, and makes the Legend look like "a kids Toy," because it is. That's the point. 18 Feb 2020 > for future buyers of this Comicave 1/12 Hulkbuster > I just bought one & discovered a few changes to the packaging. I bought mine from a legitimate shop/distributor here in Australia (picked it up myself, price Au$658) & it is apparently from the 4TH BATCH of this figure made ~Aug 2019. Physically my Hulkbuster is the same as that reviewed by Shartimus. There ARE changes to the packaging worh noting, as confirmed by Comicave themselves: [1] The figure is now secured to the back of the foam casing by red tie pulls to prevent pieces falling off & moving aorund & holds it more securely, so NO clamshell. [2] Instructions are now printed on the rear side of a cardboard cover which sits over the foam inside, with a nice glossy photo of the figure on the front (so they have removed the printed sheet). [3] There is also a shaped piece of foam which fits the cutout and fits firm against the figure. [4] Comicave had now deleted the "Certificate of Authenticity", so new ones will not this (not sure it prevents pirating anyway). So if you have this version, rest assured it is the LATEST and most UPDATED version, plus the figure includes the extra silver battery hatch on the rear (under the main gold hatch) + a fixed chest mechanism so it locks in place properly. IMO it is better than the Mafex & SHF versions. Only this Comicave & the Mafex are in CORRECT 1/12 scale (11 inches aka 11 foot tall) and ankle articulation of this Comicave kills the Mafex. NB: IN HAND - IT IS INDEED WORTH EVERY CENT !
Judge Jase nice! I just saw and BBTS is getting another batch due this July. Think I’m going to pick it up. And yes, the SHF (while very nice) is way too small. This is perfect scale. Can’t wait to have it on my Avengers display!
So after seeing this review I preordered him at ShowZ, just arrived this morning. Ah man, I want to love it. It looks beautiful, but the QC issues... Mine came with the left shoulder disassembled in the foam, The spring is missing so I cant reassemble it correctly myself (tried another spring - RIP DOTM Shockwave) but it didn't work, thinking it wasn't quite the right length. In addition to this the left chest panel just wont stay shut... If you breath within 100 yards of it the left panel pops open and getting it to stay shut again is a pain. But all accounts the difference between the "ko" which is actually official comicave stock from the old factory before the drama, is that the new "official" ones come with the certificate and a hologram sticker on the box. Mine came with a hologram sticker but no certificate or instructions so who the hell knows if they just forgot to include that little baggy in the box or if its the old factory stock...
*hi im love your videos question do you know or you know someone who know how to replace the light bulb of the head and chest, and how to replace the batteries under the feed please thanks,
PSA - do NOT pull down on the hip joints by pulling on the leg itself. My figure’s left leg snapped right off at the lower part of the hip joint itself (connection was a small plastic piece). Working with BBTS to see if I can get a replacement but be forewarned.
Also the back cover for the light up features was broken right out of the box on mine (which BBTS replaced right away but the new piece actually had a DEEP stress mark in the same spot already when I got it...so it may be a ‘class’ issue)
Just ordered mine,I hope there’s not a lot of QC issues like panels falling off. Cuz I bought the play imaginative iron patriot and it’s pretty much garbage not 100% sure if the if comicave is affiliated with play imaginative in any way
Just got it , twisted the left thigh with little force, left leg broke off, bye 580$ not sure what to do at this point. Just contacted bigbadtoystore to see if they could do anything about but probably not
Not worth the price (in my opinion). King Arts (upon release) was the same price (though 1/9th scale... some may not like the larger scale). Even at that price, King Arts has a removable pilot. Small mech "suits" with removable pilots are almost nonexistent. Without that feature, I don't care for this version. Side note: I did mod my 1/9th scale hulkbuster to fit 1/6 scale figures (personnel preference regardless of movie accuracy); I also completely dissembled it and painted all the individual red parts black with Citadel Paint. I know hot toys made a 1/6th scale version, but I wanted to make it more of a suit than a mech, so hence my 1/9 hulk buster can be piloted by 1/6 gi joe type figures. Currently the MCU hulkbuster seems to be the size of a Votoms "mech"...
Be careful with the hip swivels on this figure. My first one arrived from BBTS with a broken leg, the pin that connects the hip to the thigh and allows the rotation at that point is made from a very weak plastic that barely supports the weight of the legs. Broken in the box. I sent it back, got a replacement (BBTS kicks ass at customer service), and the second one arrived fine, but within 3 days of just standing on the shelf with minimal handling, the other hip broke in exactly the same way. Either I'm VERY unlucky, or they all have very weak hip/thigh joints.
most likely the plastic does not stand up to the weight of the figure. those two joints has to support the entire weight of the upper torso; they need to be very strong, so i can see this becoming a problem gradually for people that actually display these outside the box.
Zak Sousa I just had mine returned because the right leg on mine broke off from the thigh swivel also from bigbadtoystore. I have replacement coming soon but man hearing yours break the second time is freaking scary. I’m gonna make sure I heat up the joints first if that even works but that’s unacceptable for a $500 figure
rafael bugarin I’ve seen enough people experience it now that I’m convinced it’s a wide spread issue. My advice would be you just not use the thigh swivels at all and hope for the best.
Zak Sousa yeah the guy at BBTS told me in the email that it’s a recurring issue for returns or refunds. They were kind to tell me that and offered a refund instead of rolling the dice on a replacement but it’s such a beautiful figure so opted for a replacement instead. Hopefully it works out
rafael bugarin that was my position too. They offered me a refund after the second one broke but it’s too beautiful of a figure not to have, so I’m working on fixing it myself. Still, for a $500ish figure, that kind of wide spread problem is unacceptable.
