Horses were used well into 50s so not impossible. My grandpa was a horse taximan in the 50s and used his horses in fields. Mainly because he had inherited the horse trade from his father.

Incest in mythology is actually extremely common. In Greek mythology there was a slew of incest. Siblings, parent-child, uncle-niece and aunt-nephew. Even in the Christian Bible, all humans descend from two humans, Adam and Eve who had their children. Those children then married each other. Gods live and play by different rules than mortals and incest is not always regarded as bad in these cases. For example the Greeks were disgusted by incest and condemned it, but those same rules did not apply to gods. Many of the gods had children because of the symbolic nature between the two that could bless the world with their powers. Incest in royal families or those with high status was also very common, as to keep the bloodline pure, a very narcissistic view, one not unlike Chris's view.
I think Chris lacks the common sense and understanding of why incest is bad and perhaps he didnt even know what it was or that it even was bad in the beginning of his comics. He probably just did it out of infatuation or to combine cool powers that would make even cooler powers, without a single thought to their relation to each other. With Chris having such a narcissistic godlike view of himself, only those who are the best can marry him, and the best are obviously those who have descended from Chris himself.

There’s even a bit in the pride comic were they run over to Chris before Chris is like “Nice to see you two now go back to your nanny cause I’m busy”

Also to add, there was many Canadian foresters that were still using carts and horses up until around the 1950's. I guess this is ancedotal but it is possible that he was killed by one then. Usually it was the poorer French ones up North as it was more economical at the time. It was very common practice to not have a truck for forestry services all the way into the 30's and 40's as I have read. It's probable that there was some poorer parts of America that followed a similar thing.

I did some research on my family history and found that I'm a descendant of the Kilukeni Dynasty of the Kongo-Angola Empire in Southwest Africa, as well as possible roots in French and Iberian nobility based on some of the surnames I've found (makes a lot of sense considering that Congolese, French and Iberians interacted a lot in both Africa and the USA). Meanwhile I've done nothing remarkable with my life.
