Thanks for this, especially going the extra mile and showing the results. It helped me make my decision, and now I've got a Vinyl Vac on the way. Great job!
I agree nobody does the b4 and after. That being said I get my used dollar bend records just as good if not better by 1st using carbon brush to knock off large particulate, then I spray down with 10% 91 isopropyl and 90% distilled water then wipe down with microfiber towels. Lastly I use the bigfudge roller (5***** product) then sleeve and I am good to go. Most almost sound brand new with no surface static. Don't think I will ever change. But for the price this vac system seems cool
Vinyl Vac works great. When I got back into vinyl last year I bought a new Discwasher D4 because that is what I used as a kid. Well, all it did was move the dirt around a bit, total waste of money. I searched and watch reviews and demos of the various cleaning systems and decided the VV made the most sense to me. I had the vacuum already so the other stuff was cheap and easy to put together. I like how Vinyl Vac encourages the DIY aspects . Works great and I enjoy the challenge of getting these old records to sound as good as possible. Don’t really have experience with other systems, but I can recommend this one. Thanks for the great review.
Dang, I could watch before/after cleaning videos like this all day. Like, if someone just went to the thrift store, got a big pile, then cleaned them and played the before and after with the signal illustration like you just did, that would be my ideal TH-cam video.
Great demo video! Definitely thinking of getting one. Does the vacuum process get rid of all the fluid or do you have to wait for the record to dry a while longer before playing?
Waw, from what I saw so far, it looks like the best way to clean vinyls for cheap. I would say the only problem with that is when you flip the record to clean the other side, you will put in contact the newly cleaned side on the not-so-clean slipmat, but it should be acceptable I guess. Are you confident to do this process on your high value records ?
Lucien Berard yeah for sure. It’s a deep clean I wipe the slipmat before flipping. Anything that gets on it after a deep clean is just in the surface and easily wiped off with a carbon fiber brush before playing.
I picked up a broken turntable at a flea market for a dollar and I only use it to clean records with the vinyl vac this way I don't have to take the chance on spilling solvent on my good turntable I love the before-and-after sound test great video the record sounded a lot better after a cleaning
Hey, Thanks for the great (cost saving) video!. I see there are 2 models the 33 and 45. Do we need them both or 33 can used to clean the 7" EPs too.....
Good comparison - sounds much better after cleaning. Question - does the vinyl vac rest ON the record surface or hover over a little bit? I use spinclean - have done a few videos on that, but this sounds clearly better. thanks - nice channel
Vinyl Rundown it rests the felt pads directly on creating a seal for the suction. It also comes with these attachments to reduce or increase the suction
When I first started collecting 2 years ago I bought a vinyl that was about $40 @ that time & in a few months the price sky rocketed & people are now spending $500 on it. I already treat my records like the most fragile things ever. I clean them every play & the valuable ones I rarely listen to out of fear of just removing them from the sleeve. & This particular 1 ive played 2-3×. I took it out a few months ago to play it & A LOUD AF STATIC NOISE WAS COMING OUT OF IT ON SIDE A & B. Side C & D are fine. They didn't sound this way before. I don't touch the grooves I use a little mit to pick them up & put em down. I tried cleaning it with 5 different cleaners, tried soaking it. & Its the most valuable 1 I own & an album I love. Im seriously near tears Everytime I play it hoping it sounds ok. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this????! Plz? Or HOW TF IT HAPPENED? Seriously im close to obsessive about how delicate I am. My mom was over the other day & started laughing when she saw me handling 1 putting it on the turntable. So again WTF!?
After applying your 'juice', let it sit and soak for a minute or two and let nature work its magic. That way even more dirt will be removed from the grooves!
I just called it Vinyl Juice lol it’s actually called vinyl vac concentrate. One batch lasted me over a year! www.vinylvac.net/vinylvacconcentratecleaner.html

Fantastic demo. I need to save up for one now (they have to be imported from US to UK). Do you have to let it dry or is it okay to resleeve or play right after cleaning?
Did you add normal or distilled water to the “vinyl juice?” 👍also I have just ordered the 1oz bottle of juice, how much water would you add it to? Thanks
I've owned a VPI 16.5 for around 9 years. I have never seen crud build up on any stylus I've used, ever. All records in my collection have been cleaned and stored in plastic sleeves, no more paper.
I just ended up grabbing a wet/dry "bucket head" from Home Depot. It is just the top end of a vac that attaches to a 5 gallon bucket. Was around 25 bills or so...

When I was in my teens, just getting into music. 8-Tracks were recently discontinued, because the "New" Compact Cassette (tapes) were infinitely better. I grew up with LP's and tapes. When the Compact Disc CD came out, it immediately buried the Cassette Tape and eventually killed off LP sales too. It killed these inferior technologies because it was better in every way. I was in my 20's, and had the means to replace my collection. I immediately saw and heard the advantages of CD. No more tape hiss, no more crackling and surface noise, no worn needles or out of wack tape heads muffling the sound. CDs never wore out, always sounded great and took up only a quarter of the space. Now, enter the Mp3 (or flac for the extreme perfectionists). Cheap, portable, CD quality sound @320kbs. Can fit 10,000 songs on a simple flash drive. Play them 10 times and they were done.
Great information. I grew up with cassettes too with my water proof sony walkman. Modern turntables, pressings and cartridges can sound amazing on a hi fi system. All that matter sis you're listening to music and supporting artists right.

On the other hand streaming on Apple music, Spotify and Amazon music yield about $4-5 per album total annually. It's sad.
Nice... Except there are many records that contain media that was never released in any other format. Only choice to end up with a high quality recording is to buy the 12" and record it yourself.
