Kid, your review is spot on, at 77 I don’t have time for boolshid. You get to facts of what I need to know without putting me to sleep like some of these drones that ramble on ad nauseum. Your father gave you a good education.
@@tdub25 Timing belts are way better if you just accept the prescribed 105,000 mile interval. Search around TH-cam for some really early failures of overhead cam chains and clapped-out cam phasers. A SOHC Honda engine like this V6 has none of that junk. Belts are normally completely silent and almost zero timing error over their life unlike chains that "stretch" (wear). Give me a simple cam belt setup on A V6 like this Honda any day.
I traded (9-1-20)my 2010 4wd pilot EX-L with Res for the 2021 AWD Se pilot. I love the new addition the fact of the sporty looks but I was sad that Honda in the EX-L trim did not offer RES, trailer hitch as standard and Courtesy lighting that was on my 2010. So far like like the performance of the 2021 pilot. I agree i wish it had a timing chain and transmission dip stick.
Mpg low compared to similarly equipped Highlander. Trade off, almost one second faster acceleration to 60 mph, but hurts the mpg by 1-2 mpg. Only average reliability at these prices!
Here are my biggest complaints with the Pilot after 10k miles, 2021 Black Edition, and I've seen few discuss this in any reviews: 1. Transmission is kludgy. It does what it wants unless you drive it like it was Sunday, or floor it like race day. I find this annoying. 2. If you need to go from reverse to forward, the electronic shifting is SO SLOW! If you need to do a 3- point turn, you need a LOT of time. Very unfortunate, and extremely frustrating. You need to completely stop. Wait for the gears to change (2-3 seconds), then put in forward. On a busy road, forget it. 3. Carwash mode does not work. Already scratched the rims because again, you must break completely to change gears from N to drive, which doesn't work well on a moving conveyor. 4. The Eco mode turns the engine off on idle and starts again at gas press. You can turn this off to keep the engine going, but you can't disable permanently. 5. Wireless charger does not work with iPhone 12 max, Galaxy s2
The problem with every Pilot since 2016 it's the transmission is CRAP 💩💩💩. Just get a Honda Odyssey with 10 speed automatic transmission; it's super reliable, if you want a pilot get 2015 pilot or a 2014,2013,2012,2011. Best years in my opinion.
Uhhh...define 💩 please. Does that mean you don't like how it shifts, or does it mean it breaks and leaves you with a $7,000 bill for repairs? Big difference.
nice review...........but lets get real.......how many people are going to buy that 50 thousand dollar car..............i believe that the most PILOTS sold are the EX............THAT was the car you should have reviewed............but ..............this is your show......so do as you like.....
Same Engine, Same Transmission - just imagine less features and cloth seating. Most, not all, but most reviewers go for the highest trim because it includes all the features that the brand offers in that model and it helps to best visually compare with everything that other brands offer in that segment. Not trying to knock your point, because I do get where you're coming from for the people who are looking to buy lower trims - it's just not very common to see auto-journalists on youtube review low to mid-trim models. I'm sure you will find some videos out there for the EX. And just as a personal preference, if I was going to go for a lower trim, both my wife and I would definitely opt for at LEAST the EX-L because we prefer leather-appointed seating. As a matter of fact, if you go to edmunds website and select a trim for the 2021 Pilot, you'll see that they also list the EX-L as the most popular. Once again, probably because it's the cheapest way to get into a leather upholstered Pilot - of course that's just speculation on my part, though.

Appreciate it! 😁
Naturally aspirated engine. Old school automatic. Reliability!
minus the timing belt rather than a timing chain.

Honda is loosing their reps
They need to do a Pilot Si or Passport Si competitor for the Ford Edge and Explorer ST. Use the new TL TTV6.
A vehicle this size screams out for a 360° cam. Really surprised they haven’t added one yet.
You forgot to mention all wheel drive come standard with the elite and above !
No
@@joesantos7196 yes it is elite and black edition has standard awd lmao
@@RaY_77W i just got a special edition and its awd .
@@joesantos7196 yes It’s a option but it comes standard on higher trims
do middle seats recine, and how far?
Excellent Review!!!! Very thorough and objective. Thanks!
Good review. Thanks for doing it.
Maybe it's the lens or camera angle, but at 1:20 it looks like the infotainment is angled more for a RHD vehicle?
Very helpful review! Lots of info.
I Really Like My 2021 Honda Pilot.....
Trying to decide between a Touring and an EXL
you can change the ambient light in the menu
hack it
The 2021, all of them comes with 9 speed transmission in AWD. Most dealer don't, offer the 2wd.
1:45 the engine cover is missing the Earth Dreams sticker. Weird haha
Nice review of the new pilot
Thanks!
I have one of these and they are nice cars
What about HUD?
I want Black Edition
Great review. Will you do one for the Passport?
I'll definitely try!
@@goldpony Will keep an eye out for it! Thanks!
Man, i wish i have as a neighbor here in Texas😂😂
1:37 Nice Sambas.
I am curious. What do you drive personally?
2017 Hyundai Santa Fe (3-row) & 2020 Hyundai Sonata 👍
@@goldpony Nice! Thanks for the reply.

one point of correction . There is some blue ambient lighting just over the dash. Check out gas mileage this week was getting 22 city and 26 highway
$17,000 worth of options on a Honda???
Subarban review? Vlog video?
Does the front passenger seat power height adjust? Lumbar?
If the next gen Pilot doesn't beat the Telluride and Palisade, Honda shouldn't even bother
Waiting to see a review on Chevrolet Traverse 😁🤘
Didn't touch on safety issues that much. That's more important than trim levels to me.
End of the video 👍

In canada, you will find most of honda pilot or toyota highlander are the highest trim. Rare chances to see EX...

WHERE'S THE HYBRID????.....IT'S 2021!!!
Very nice but come on just buy a highlander
Exactly
NO
They are pretty close anyway
I usually prefer Honda’s but I’d have to agree in this instance since the highlander offers a 360° cam and a nicer looking cabin.
Nah, just buy a Telluride
