  • Can you build an all pearl ball arsenal of balls? I'm going to find out!
    I'll be using the Track Paragon Pearl, Stealth Pearl and Tundra Fire.
    With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
    Ball Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
    Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
    Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
    Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
    Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
    Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based on the True Breakpoint.
    Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
    Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
    Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

    I do love me a pearl but I might just have to at least one solid in there, but I like the premise. I'm old and I grew up with polyester, rubber and urethane. So this changing the surface is foreign to me but intriguing. Thanks Nick

    I got my first pearl ball the other day : stealth pearl because the local house has had very dry lanes lately and i could barely keep my black widow 2.0 out of the left gutter. Since i got the Pearl ball the lanes have had decent amount of oil and now the black widow strikes and the lanes are too wet for the Stealth pearl. But at least now I have options! Having only one ball when you don't match up is very frustrating!

    I agree but I am wondering if low speed low rev player would benefit more from an all pearl arsenal compared to one or two with some surface on it. I am the player I am talking about and practiced today on my house lanes which are wood and it is a high friction house and went with the absolute the dark moss wolverine and a burner pearl all three balls are polished and the lanes were broken down from league last night. Ended up hitting the wolverine with a 3000 pad and got a better look but thinking about hitting it with a 2000 pad to see if it helps or hinders it

    For me I would have the layout creating the difference uses as their control layout. 60×4-3/4"×30° and have the tundra fire at 3000 trucut or 2000 trucut to be earlier and more motion . The stealth pearl 1500/3000/p5000d trucut by hand so it looks shiny but there is no polish on the ball for my quick change of direction ball, the paragon pearl 4000 grit to knock of the shine

    Great videos Nick. I'm a novice at best but we're getting heavier into playing. So, I'm adding a Stealth Pearl next (tough call on that or the Envy Tour Pearl but I like the look of Stealth better and my spare ball is same as the Envy). My question for you is if you surface a ball, and you later go back higher grain again to 2000 or 3000+ and polish to essentially return it to slick? I have those same pads, and I was going to use them to refurbish an older ball. Just curious if you can give it some surface and then slick it back out again? Also, which you recommend, Envy Tour Pearl vs Stealth Pearl for a novice, slow spead medium rev bowler only bowling on house lanes rarely even leagues. Thank You.

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes absolutely you can polish them back up but you’ll need a higher speed spinner to do so. Adding surface by hand is easy but polishing by hand will be a lot harder going the other way.

  • @glenandbrandy

    Great video & like the way the heavier oil creates more separation among the balls. On the first shot it looked like the Stealth went wider & ‘bounced’ off drier boards. I wonder it had been on top of the Tundra Fire line if it would have struck.

    So hey Nick I know this is an older video that I'm commenting on but I hope you get this message. I noticed you got a sweet new haircut in this video and couldn't help notice you have some sort of rash on the back of your head. After seeing that I thought back to a moment in my life when I had something similar on the back of my head and after going to several Dr's and lots of tests and investigations it was determined that I had been bitten by a tick and ended up with Lyme disease which was doing all kinds of crazy things to my body. Hopefully you don't have this, but thought I would pass along this information just in case.

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both balls will be in the same performance range, but from my experience, I think the 3D Offset Attack flips and continues just a little harder. The lower intermediate diff makes this possible. The Paragon Pearl is no slouch, but I think it’ll be the first one to roll forward heads up against eachother.

    I prefer pearls, and have several. Radical Rave, that I threw a 300 with, Intel Pearl, Pandemonium Pearl, as well as an original Wolverine and a Hammer 3D Offset. That came with 2000 factory. I have it at 500 currently, and have also had it with 1000 and compound. I recently bought a GB4 hybrid, which I love. It does feel like a pearl, probably because of the compound. I maintain all of my pearls with compound.

  • @dustinfalconer8793
    @dustinfalconer8793 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you can, just because they are pearl doesn't mean they have to be shinny or polished. Take something like the paradox and sand it to a 1000 or 1500 grit, maybe the stealth at a 2000 to 3000 grit and leave the Tundra fire at out of box or even take it down to a 1500 then sand it back to a 4000grit or fast 4k

  • @michaelfinley9988
    @michaelfinley9988 ปีที่แล้ว

    Key question, how long does surface last, just a few shots, one game, three games or more? I think I saw a video by Creating the Difference where he used a surface scanner after throwing several balls and the surface started dull and progressively changed to a higher or smoother surface the more shots he threw.

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They start shining up incrementally every shot. It wouldn’t take more than a game using the Stealth for it to get closer to 2500 with a scan. Eventually, all bowling balls will level out somewhere near 3800 after extended use.

      @@brunsnick Appreciate it. Not sure how you feel about guys throwing ideas out there. But since you did a test heavy and always a test medium pattern; do you think you would ever do a test light and do something like an Axe, Raw Hammer, and Hammer Reactive (or Tundra Fire) video? I think this is what sets you apart from other ball videos. You are willing to get creative like you did with the Surface Challenge with the Columbia Madness. It would be interesting to see one video where the condition was more like a 36-38 foot pattern.

    Last couple times ive surfaced a couple balls theyve hooked less and struggle to make it back to the pocket compared to before, does that mean its burning up? Or did i somehow do something wrong? Needless to say messing with the surface scares me now lol

    • @douglasbuck8986
      @douglasbuck8986 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More surface equals lower number pad.... 500, 1000......more aggressive . Higher numbers 3000, 4000, P5000D, start to translate into more length and stored energy.....so length and snap.
      You have to move as the oil on the lane dictates ......you need to go practice changing the surface to SEE what the changes DO. This will teach you what number pad to use....😊

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And don’t just add surface to add surface. If you’re bowling on dry lanes and you add surface to a ball, it will likely perform worse.
