The paper edge effect is so helpful because prior to this if I wanted to use a mask the color border as as you showed it ignores it. But now there's finally a way to put a border around a masked item. Thanks for sharing awesome tips as always and even though I'm familiar with half of these tools I always learn something new to do with them from your videos. The watermark feature looks awesome but can you limited it to only show one image instead of an entire row of images?
Thanks for all the cool new stuff to try out. For me this program is like a 7 day cruise I took one year with Royal Caribbean on a Hugh ship Oasis class. I spent the whole week revisting the fun area that I found. It wasnt until my last night that I found a hidden gem of a restaurant (that is free also). I said oh I wish I had seen this earlier in the cruise and the server said well why didnt you know about us? It is very easy to get to know and like a few features to get comfortable with them. Like the ship they dont really push all the things that you can do. I appreciate you taking the time to show us all the other fun stuff to try out.
Love open fx crop, super useful for those times when you want to quickly reuse crops. Then again i've now mostly moved on to use fusion adjustment layers for reusing crops, but still so helpful.
Thanks for this. I've really struggled with creating simple borders around insets. The Colored Border effect is basically useless, so I'm very happy to see it can be done within the Paper Edge effect. Worth watching just for that, but the other effects are very cool too.
11:36 this has to be the single best feature for me. I love adding stroke or outer glow to things in my thumbnails, or images/videos shown in smaller frames on the screen while I'm commentating over them. Actually perfect!
That paper edge effect works so well when making text bolder and the drop shadow is just a bonus. This makes my movie trailer reconstruction work just a little bit easier, very timely video. Thanks Alex and keep 'em coming.
Have you noticed some bugs in the latest resolve 18.6? For example when I cut and delete clips from my timeline, sometimes the audio and video goes out of sync. But when I close the application and start again, automatically the audio and video are back in sync. I've never encountered this error before. Seems like 18.6 is buggy
Just had to uninstall and go back to 18.5 today. I had the audio desync as well and some pretty substantial performance drops when trimming start and end segments. Other people on the BMD forums are having the same issues, so i'm hopefully it will be resolved soon.
@MrAlexTech or anyone else, I absolutely love this video! I'm trying to use the Paper Edge effect. Do you happen to know why the Paper edge controls are not showing up in inspector? I have Studio 18.6 installed. It doesn't matter if I single or double click the effect in the inspector. Yes, my clip is highlighted. Yes, I have the FX Overlay selected. Any help that you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Alex!
I use the solid generator A LOT and I've used the Fusion Textured Background once. It was perfect for what I needed. I've tried text-based editing, but what I've found more useful for someone talking is to generate subtitles and scan them instead of scrubbing the video. Does anyone else do this?

@Veedotme I also uninstalled Davinci Resolve 18.6 and reverted back to 18.5 Too many bugs and performance issue
