    Thank you for going slow and showing exactly where to put the hook...when your new it can be hard to know where to insert your hook. You did an excellent job explaining what you were doing. I can’t wait to try this pattern.

    I am simply delighted at this project. I love to crochet and knit but find it difficult to complete projects due to busy life commitments. I sat here and made the whole hat with you, pausing of course, along the way. I am so pleased and will now be making a matching scarf! Thank you!!!

    Even though my ribbing measures 18th’, my total stitches around the hat is 50, which is too many to decrease. I’ll have to adapt the pattern slightly. Perhaps my yarn is a different thickness? I’m using a chunky yarn. I’ll let you know if it works

    • @zaymada3228
      @zaymada3228 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did it work? I am having the same issue

    • @moniguevara606
      @moniguevara606 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it’s a misunderstanding, do not do 50 single crochet around the hat even if that’s what will fit, only do 36. So once you finish closing the ribbing, space your markers to four even sections, then only place 9 single crochet in each one of the four sections, that will leave you with exactly 36. So even if you can fit more, only do 9 evenly spaced to get to the next marker. If you find you did 9 and you’re only half way to next marker or not there yet, redo them and single crochet two together if needed. so they are evenly spaced and you only have 9 in each section. Hope this helps.

    I like the hat but I don't normally like to work with "bulky yarn" cause it seems to make things so thick and bulky and I like softer hats and scarfs! So will probably try it using worsted weight yarn! Thanks for the tutorial!

    Hello! From Australia hi,

    I see some ribbing done with single crochet in back loop. Is the slip stitch ribbing stretchy as well? Love the way you start the body of the hat. Easy counting for SC row. Very good tutorial

    • @crochetdreamz
      @crochetdreamz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It absolutely is! Now this is the only ribbing I want to do. It works up fast with chunky yarn but I might loose patience working so many sl stitches with thinner yarn, haha!

    Sorta newbie here.. I already have the yarn , weight 5 (grandsons picked out).. can that work for this hat? I would want it to be thick and warm, and I tend to be a tight-crocheter. Bigger hook if I crochet tight? Help appreciated.

      Since I used a size 6 yarn, I am afraid your hat might turn out smaller. That said, try going up 2 hook sizes and see if you can get the hat the same size as me.
