What an incredible job you did on this model. Congratulations on your perseverance and your modelling skills. I watched all six parts and have enjoyed seeing your build.
The most important part when I used gold leaf was the epoxy. Once the gold leaf comes in contact with the epoxy, it won't let go. Hence why it stands up to masking later on. But it's not all perfect, it must cure first before handling or finger prints will appear or break the gold leaf while the epoxy is still uncured, and any part of the gold leaf that does not come into contact with the epoxy will tear up from masking or handling. So it's important to check before moving on. But just a little more epoxy and gold leaf in those spots will blend in perfectly. Ps. I'm unsure what epoxy brands you have where you are, but I used Shelley's 5 minute araldite on this model.
Oh, that. It's cardboard. I used that term paper board on purpose of potential any none native English speakers who might watch my video. Some people I've encountered in my lifes travels only understand that cardboard is for making boxes and see cards as simply thick paper. So it did give me pause for thought when describing it for others.
Holy crap. The difference. between my childhood beginner skills and this fantastic creation is jaw dropping. Beautiful!

I never knew gold leafing could stand up to masking. How long did it take for the leafing to set up?

I’ve never heard the term paper board. Might that be poster board, or is this some kind of special product?
