I am actually ADDING clover ALL OVER my yard because of the benefits.
We live in a drought affected area and it's best to have SOMETHING growing in the ground than nothing; I chose clover!
It grows well, attracts pollinating bees and is EDIBLE ❤ I will be doing the chop-n-drop technique with it and I'm hoping that eventually it will improve the soil enough to be able to extend my veggie patches into the yard more!

@@JIMIIXTLAN Chop and drop the clover plants. They will compost on the ground and add biomass to the soil. It improves soil structure and fertility in the long run.

Clover is beautiful and it takes less water, plus more tolerant of poor conditions. A perfect lawn is a waste of good soil.

I've personally always loved clover yards. We had one when I was a kid and we could run through it barefoot and the bees were our little pets. I've never liked the manicured lawn look because it feels stodgy and inhospitable. Like someone will yell at me if I step on it. No thank you.

I looked into purchasing Micro Clover seed (it blooms white) for a small area between my flower beds, but it's not winter hardy in zone 5a. It doesn't have as many blooms as Dutch White clover, the leaves are very small, and, according to the information, Micro Clover doesn't need to be cut. The seed is rather expensive, but if it would survive in my area, I would definitely plant it!

After I moved into my rented space and pulled out the weeds in front of my porch, grass would barely grow! After a year of patchy, ugly grass I'm growing a clover bed. Lower maintenance, hardier (I have a dog), and I think it's pretty!

@@Madmaximuss I beg to differ for the reasons stated above. Grass may be good, but when mowed, clover looks almost no different from grass, it's easier to sow and grow while it also keeps more moister in the ground when watered by preventing as much evaporation.

Ever since I have become interested in introducing clover into my yard, I have been seeing conflicting information. For example here you talk about the weed problem, but elsewhere I have read articles stating that clover helps to choke out the weeds.

Hello. I'm hoping that someone here might take an interest in my problem... I have a lawn that 80% red clover and 20 percent grass. I have a mosquito problem. I'd like to avoid pesticides that will kill pollinators. I'm wondering if the Beer/Epsom/mouthwash sprays will kill my clover ( I don't want to kill the clover). And will this spray also keep away bees and other pollinators? Any experience or advice?

Growing up as a kid in the 80's and teen in the 90's there was always clover and dandelions in the lawns and no one cared. If the dandelions and clover were high it was time to cut the grass. Like I just don't get the obsession with grass only lawns of course most people don't do any lawncare or yard maintenance anymore and if you are paying someone else...
