So somehow this video shows up on my feed. Halfway through it, it convinced me to pick up my pencils again. Three years of break, and totally different subject - I used to draw cars - I drew my first portrait after 10 years since last attempt at it. Following Your guide, the result is, well... far better than I would have expected of myself, and quite accurate to the original photo. I'm very grateful for the inspiration and the tutorial.

In loomis method can I draw the eyes first after making the head shape and than gradually work on rest of the face?

А это наиважнейшая задача рисовальщика, которую необходимо исполнить как можно точнее и аккуратнее, и не приступать к деталям портрета, пока все тональные отношения не будут проложены точно в положенном им месте, и с верной интенсивностью. Правильное завершение этого этапа позволит Вам не совершать явные ошибки при переходе к изображению деталей портрета. Конечно, если бы у Вас был бы феноменально развитый глазомер, как у Микельанджело, Леонардо Да Винчи, Веласкеса, Рубенса, Ватто, Буше, то Вы конечно смогли бы лишь слегка наметив основные тональные отношения, исполнить без труда абсолютно точный линейный рисунок. Но глазомер у Вас пока развит не очень хорошо, а поэтому важнейший этап точнейшей лепки объема изображения правильно проложенными в нужных местах тональными отношениями различной интенсивности для Вас крайне необходим. Именно завершение точной, общей светотеневой моделировки изображения как раз и способствует развитию, и совершенствованию точного глазомера, которого у Вас пока что, увы, нет как нет. Вот этот важнейший этап светотеневой точной лепки объема изображения вы видимо во время Вашего обучения проигнорировав, благополучно пропустили. Ну а отсюда, при не достаточно развитом глазомере и получается ваш рисунок, не строго, но лишь слегка похожим на оригинал. И похоже, что Вы этого пока не замечаете. Расположение, и линии бровей неверны. Расположение, и форма глаз неверны. Линия шеи ниже затылка неверна. Изображение в целом абсолютно плоское, не живое, лишено объема. В целом направление взгляда не соответствует оригиналу. Вот в основном целый ряд серьезнейших просчётов вашего метода, и конечного результата Вашего труда. Вас как мастера, может продвинуть вперёд лишь строгий самоконтроль в последовательности работы, к которому Вы очевидно не склонны. Либо суровые уроки крепкого мастера Академического рисунка, где он расскажет вам примерно то же что я сообщаю вам, но возможно, что уже за деньги.

Художник явно, и совсем не обоснованно игнорирует очень важный, и полезный принцип работы над изображением: " От обшего, к частному". Этот метод предполагает сначало пооложить точно основные тональные отношения изображаемого обьекта, и только потом осторожно приступать к детализации изображения, продолжая следить за сохранением общих тональных отношений, углубляя их, там где это требуется, или смягчая. Тогда законченный рисунок будет гармоничным, обьемным, и точным. Но поскольку автор, не обладая в достаточной степени развитым глазомером, игнорирует очень важный, упомянутый принцип, то на выходе у него получается работа не точная, "сырая", лишенная напроч обьема, "Проволчный рисунок". Все это является явным признаком недостаточно глубокого художественного образования. В данном портрете очень много неточностей в глазах, и бровях. Автора следует поместить на первый курс Академии художеств, и передать в руки к строгому кркпкому мастеру рисунка, и что бы он научил его правильной последовательности работы над рисунком. А то, что он поедставляет нам сейчас, это собственно в основном есть демонстрация немощи, на троечку, и не выше😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮.

Посмотрел несколько роликов. Где-то портрет удачный, но часто (как здесь) нет. Глаза- зеркало души. Если вы не можете изобразить их достоверно, все остальное не имеет смысла.
