You mean people voted only on the basis of religion? Our government schools, colleges, health system and other infrastructure was world class 10 years back when there as no tax at all for us? Because of poverty and population problem, only 2-3% of adults pay direct tax. Of course everyone (not those who mostly depend on government ration) participate in indirect tax collection... so there is no politics or religion in this, other than that no one from any party is daring to take strong steps to control our population explode.

I moved out of India to Germany one year back for exactly this reason , i used to work as VP in a banking organisation back in Bangalore and during pandemic i was stuck in my remote hometown and had to see my father suffer and die in local govt hospital due to cancer because of the pathetic condition of hospital and lack of essential medical equipment as it was covid lockdown so i couldn’t travel back to Bangalore. I still couldn’t completely forgive myself even after serving him a lot in his old age though i know in my mind that his death reason was not me but the local govt hospital failed me, even after paying around 6 lacks yearly as direct tax TDS this is what i got back. This made me introspect a lot & think about my life decision, now i feel good even though i pay around 35% -40% tax(around 2 lacks INR per month)but i am happy to pay that because i get in returns good roads, transportation, good govt medical insurance, free education for my kids, unadulterated food & pure air & other many things like pension after retirement, kids expense monthly allowance etc. if Govt doesn’t care of middle class but squeeze them for money how long will we work for them as bonded labour without any expectations.

After my dad's demise in 2021 COVID 2nd wave, I was in college second year. My mom invested the insurance amount in a peice of land and we thought that we'll sell it when we require, now, due to the poor economic conditions, I have a job which barely completes my household requirements. Now, after 3 years we were planning to sell this land now as we took almost 6-7 months regularly negotiating on offers that contractors and builders were giving, finally when the price was enough that we can get a handsome profit, the budget came in and literally just shattered all our future investment plans as now, the profit for which we were into negotiations for the last 6-7 months is just gone now. I don't understand, how will the middle class get out of this generational curse of making ends meet. Aren't we deserving of the happiness and luxury. At this point, it is just sad to see all this.

There is nothing in the budget for education and medical sectors. Why does this government always ignores education and health sector ? Why so much emphasis on tourism and roads ?
They are taking care of that by adding health and education cess while we file our income tax. We have been paying that for a while now, but till now I don't know where that amount is getting utilized.

For Healthcare : Eat any bush or grass, everything is medicated here

Extremely disappointing regarding allocation for Health and Education. Many states require increased spending on improving education infrastructure in terms of better teachers, better Schools infrastructure and which are in dilapidated condition. Government recruitment can increase particularly Railways and other departments where there are vacancies. State owned enterprises and PSU Banks can Kick start the Internship scheme. Infrastructure Companies can also be good candidates for this Scheme like L & T, Afcons infrastructure Etc. Agniveer per se is not a bad idea but can be reworked.
