Hi. The song Film Out is the OST of the Japanese Movie "Signal". It's about time travel to solve a crime that happened in the past. According to a Japanese Army who commented to me, the movie is an extension of a long running TV drama series in Japan. Those who have watched the movie said that the BTS MV is very relevant.... On the other hand, some ARMYs correlated the MV to the previous BTS Universe which is also about time travel..... The music is so deep and beautiful. It was co-written and produced by Jung Kook.

So “Film Out” was made for a Japanese movie adaptation of a Kdrama called “Signal”. It’s about a profiler and detective that communicate via a walkie-talkie that transcends time to solve cold cases before they even happen. A lot of ARMY theorize that the MV is connected to BTS’s fictional storyline(Aka the BU/Bangtan Universe) that runs through some of their MVs, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. All of the videos that are connected to the BU have certified BU content written in their description.
There are many theories about this song and video and being a new ARMY myself I like to watch XCeleste cause her explanation on the BU is very clear and easy to follow. I'd check her out if you are confused about the storyline.

You should definitely check out xCeleste's 'BTS Storyline summary + Explained'. If you haven't dove too far into the Bangtan Universe storyline, this music video is much harder to understand though it still provokes a lot of emotion. And for good reason. This storyline is INSANE and confusing (especially since it's still continuing) BUT definitely worth trying to follow along. This group is incredible.
You should watch videos on the whole Bangtan Universe story. Then when you watch the Film Out MV again everything that happened in it will make so much sense since it is connected to the Bangtan Universe.
