    Great to see your video of tackling Big Red. When we went up the day after we met you, it was just us and one other couple! And we got a stunner of a sunset!

    Another fun video guys. Good to see some familiar spots again and to see you having fun on the dunes. We love the colours out there and, when we've been able to find a spot to ourselves, just sitting quietly and enjoying the vastness of the landscape of the Simpson. It's a shame you didn't get the 'perfect' sunset, having said that all sunsets out there have a unique quality that make them memorable.
    We found the Toyos to be excellent, even on the dunes. It took us a while to work out the best tyre pressures and gears to use for steeper sections, but then that is true of any light four wheel drive too.
    Enjoy being back out there! Safe travels, A&J

      Hi Guys,
      When we first got up on Big Red, we thought there was going to be no one else. There was only 2 other “tourists” in town and just locals. Then before we knew it, there was cars everywhere up there, and the tour bus…… we were laughing at ourselves….
      Cheers, karl

      Hi Benny,
      It was warm, and took us the week to adjust to it. It was good seeing Birdsville in the off season.👍

    Hi guys! I’ve just started watching your videos as my family will soon be very happy Isuzu owners! I really value the detail you put in about the truck, reviewing it, mods, tires and tire pressure. I will be taking all of your advice and expertise on to ready our truck for the big lap. I love that you are common sense adventurers - equipped and ready but assessing risk as you go. Might see you out and about one day 👍🏼

    Hello you two, travelers,
    again a very nice video from you two. I hate this red sand and the desert. One has there with the car too often problems. My experience, just with tires, best military multi chamber balloon tires. Disadvantage, these wheels cost a lot of money and are very noisy on the road. Advantage, you can get through almost everywhere and there are also for trucks, I mean up to 10 tons. Larger, are custom made. So we came after we converted all vehicles in Arabia, Africa and also in Australia to all oil / gas production sites and the processing plants, even with large trucks and over 50 tons of cargo per truck. Everything else didn't really work.
    Greetings from Frankfurt and 6 o'clock in the morning, is still in the middle of the night, laugh.

    • @nowhereboundtouring
      @nowhereboundtouring  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gerold,
      The rim size we have has a very limited choice of tyres. I have looked at the tyres I think you are discussing, and they unfortunately don’t suit our 19.5” rims.
      Cheers, Karl.

    • @geroldknoebel3836
      @geroldknoebel3836 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nowhereboundtouring Hi Karl, I know it's not that simple, unfortunately there are only certain rims for these Ballon multi-chamber tires. I know the problem, we had to properly rebuild some vehicles at the time and that cost really a lot of money. Unfortunately, there was no other way.
      Greetings Gerold

    Awesome video. What rims and tyres are you using. I noticed you changed after you experience with the Gladiator tyres. Thanks.

    • @nowhereboundtouring
      @nowhereboundtouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Desmond,
      We tried a Blackbear tyre on the 17” rim, and they failed far quicker than the Gladiators. We have now gone to the 19.5” rim with a truck tyre. In my experience, no 17” tyre is suitable for our load, even though it is within their specified load rating.
      Cheers, karl

      Hi Chris,,
      The combination works very well on corrigations, rocky high speed tracks are good, but I can’t say in sand and low range 4x4 stuff as we have not done enough of this yet.
      Keep in touch, and we will let you know how they go.

    Step side of big red is easy, the far right tracks are easy in a truck. It’s the far left hero lines that can be a bit of a challenge, but 1st gear high range and it will just walk up. And you won’t get stuck because you can just reverse back down and try again or go up to little red and back across that way. The dune after big red is worse then big red itself
