    My initial idea for this video was to hit the top speed on the Autobahn and finally get over 300kph for my first time but that didn't go to plan and ended up wasting nearly all the day trying, then my microphone stopped working and I forgot my second camera mount to give you the POV 😐 That said I'm going back in 2 weeks to try again at 6am on a Sunday morning, it needs to happen 😁

      TheConsalo I know what tuners sais about every tuning box: A powerbox is a small module that is connected onto the car's wiring system. By remapping the car we optimalise the software on the eeprom (chip). A powerbox just alters the value send at the engine ECU. In fact your "cheating" the chip. This isn't the correct way to tune a car and holds several dangers... that's why we don't sell it and you shouldn't as well :)"

      I know, thats why i said an ECU remap is always better. And btw i am not selling anything, i just build my own fun car and a freind of me is a tuner (RRahmani)

    62k€ for a 20k$ VF engineering supercharger is quite a good markup for MTM.

    The stretch directly after Basel is often quite clear, or the run between München and Austria is really long so im sure you could get a run in there, but your best bet is to try at 1AM in the morning its almost always possible to go full throttle then😉 better luck next time👌

      Cars with Luke The Autobahn between Munich and Austria is the 96 and its almost completely unlimted😏 How long does the R8 take to get to 300? And where did you try the last run?

      Yeah, set navi to Garmisch Partenkirchen from Munich and you should be good to go.

      Yes the 95 between München and Garmisch is one of the most epic roads in D. Nice long curves too, the view is insane when the weather is good because of the alps and it is often quite! Try it Luke!

    Sounds good with the stock exhaust , lot's of people want to stick an aftermarket on there to make it louder,sometimes good and other times not!

    I can see this car got your blood racing more than others... how would you set it apart from a Porsche, or other super cars you've driven? Looking forward to round 2! Great video!

      Thanks, I can't really compare this to anything else as it's the first tuned supercar I've driven, but that Supercharger made for a lot of fun, power was simply mad!

      Mazatti Yeah I only had my 3 point suction cup mount with me and it was too big for the back window, next time in a few weeks I will take the correct one 👍🏻

      Cheers and yes, normally I always give the outside views but I forgot my small mount to stick behind me to give that POV view, all in all my day didn't really go to plan especially with the microphone breaking as well, next time :-)

      Yeah I remember on the vxr8 when they had it on old Top Gear is sounded so nice!

    Do mtm or Abt not the same? They both install chip but not doing a ecu remap, for example APR company does ecu remaps, I think it's better to do ecu remap instead of adding some piggyback box under cars hood who makes fool ecu and sends some signals

      +Tadas Simasevicius MTM do a remap, they actually told me that's the most difficult part of everything is mapping the car perfectly which take some days.

      Cars with Luke but on their website it's sais : Modified MTM Software for your ECU (engine controlunit), incl. torque over the entire rpm range andreplaced speed limiter. We recommend filling up with 100 or 102 octanegasoline, to reach the full performance development, it's a tuning box like a Abt. Don't think they do ecu remapping

      Cars with Luke plus I found some interesting information:"worst advise ever, abt uses only tuning boxes and people with knowhow, they know how bad abt/mtm are...
      Abt and MTM are companies that only live for their name nowadays. I know so many people that had problems with their software, most of the time it had to do with having far less power than advertised. Often also issues with ecu resetting theirselves. These guys were good with old fashioned tuning but nowadays one needs CPU/ECU specialist which they dont have. So they use cheaper boxes from China, so does for example racechip coz its far easier to do but they sell these cheap boxes at a premium price xD. problem is that these boxes only adjust stock parameters and harm the engine more than a real tune. "

      You can still do donuts in a AWD when there is enough power and it
      helps when more % of the power distributed to the rear wheels

    NO Disrespect... But a guy that has never been at 300kph should not really give any opinion of a Vehicle of this caliber. If anything he should just enjoy it and be lucky and greatfull in that he has the chance to experience an engineering masterpeace. His opinin of this vehicle has no merit. If is was like someone from a racing backround with years of experience or has had exotic car all there lives and has been in many different cars of the same caliber then I would take in the experence and it would have a bearing on his opinin. Yet agian. Thanks fo showing us such a beautiful car from the Audi stable. Happy Days.

    Hey Luke: You are a responsible person - making videos that promote the idea of trying to drive 300 in traffic is not smart. Sorry. Not good Autobahn culture.

      mufflejoy Hey, I only pushed it when there was a clear gap (those 2 times and you can see from the GoPro it wasn't so busy at those points) that was it, there was never any empty areas again after that so I never tried again. I would never push it actually in busy traffic hence I only tried twice when it was clear. I am a responsible person and don't take any silly risks at all as you'll see in all my videos.

      I know you are reasonable as stated - I agree and find you to be a responsible person in your videos as you point out. Other viewers might not get it and some come to the Autobahn (from overseas mostly) assuming things that could be dangerous. Good discipline is to drive as hard as circumstances allow as target, not a specific speed that will lead to unnecessary risk and wrong focus / objective - just getting from 290 to 300 could lead you to take unnecessary long to react to potential traffic
      I hope your Sunday morning run will be succesful - a quite reasonable and appropriate setting :-)

      Yes I do get what you mean, I guess I didn't think about it because I felt totally in control and only push it to what the current circumstances allow, not to mention the car I was driving can do it and stop when needed with that ceramic breaks but didn't think how others could perceive it and the last thing I want to set is a bad example so next time I film on the Autobahn I will mention it :-)

      I think Luke said he was trying all day? We can all have our own ideas of risk and accident statistics - to me trying to reach 300 in everyday traffic is not a smart endeavour - some putz is bound to not see you coming and switch lane driving 100 to overtake another putz doing 98 - you need at least 500m of clear road in front of you and in curves at that speed, you need to have a clear view all the way out - ceramic brakes can only really save you in a straight line on dry roads.
      6AM Sundays will be great on the right piece of highway - Austria to Munich as some have suggested has great stretches when you come down from the Alps, or Frankfurt to Darmstadt which is of course further away from CH - the A5 starting at the airport going south is miles of 4 straight lanes. It's a relic of the cold war that could be converted to landing strip for the US airbase :-)
