  • Learn how to utilize Amazon Route 53 latency-based routing, weighted round-robin, and other features in conjunction with DNS failover to direct traffic to the least latent, most available endpoints across a global infrastructure. We explore topics such as balancing traffic between endpoints in terms of load and latency, and discuss how to provide multi-record answers to improve client-side resiliency. As part of this session, Loggly will present how they utilize Route 53 for their traffic management needs.

How can we create a Healthcheck to see if prod-1 load is less than 50%? I do not see such option in Rt53 Health check configuration.

Yeah, but you could possibly configure custom health checks - thru Cloud Watch. But even with that you are either healthy or not healthy - I don't know how you could contrive 'partly healthy' and dynamiclly set weights. All those critical details have been omitted.

Healths are determined from ELB health checks.Route traffic through weighted Route53 to have the desired amount of traffic to be routed to ur target.
