    I NEARLY DIED AT TAUTALOGY 😂 Seriously, what were the odds of you repeating it and repetition also being sort of the definition of it, omg I can't 💀 I loved this so much, I can't believe you call this mediocre content LaLa! I mean I literally learned new words and laughed and enjoyed all 30 minutes of it, THAT IS NOT MEDIOCRE CONTENT 👌🏼💖

    Plage is beach in french and coup de foudre is love at first sight in french. I love that everyday words in one language are used as a somewhat posh way to say the same thing in another language.

    • @aliasalamandra
      @aliasalamandra 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Diapason is French too and the word "psittacine" is almost like "psittacisme" and it means the same thing. A good way to know more English words = be from another language lol

    This is such a neat, different idea for recommendations - plus your first rec was one I loved, so of course I have to watch the rest
    Nepenthe reminds me of More Happy Than Not, it’s not a potion, but characters are able to forgot sorrowful things by a process.

    other people have pointed out plage and coup de foudre are french words so let me add to the fun and say that

    I feel like you have the best, and most original content. The things and ideas you come up with for videos are so fun and just completely unique. I kind of fell out of love with book tube watching all the same tbrs/hauls/wraps ups, but your closet unhauls, buying 5 books that look like fav books, reading lowest tbr books have kept me a loyal and consistent follower and fan of your channel. Thank you for being you and creating fun content that keeps us all coming back.

    I'm breaking my silence and making my first ever TH-cam comment (and it's so long omg) because I gasped out loud when you mentioned The Death of Mrs. Westaway. I wouldn't call it popular? And I've never heard it mentioned before, but I've just started reading it after impulse buying it at Costco! I'm excited to continue a book about a character skilled at legerdemain.
    Some September W.o.t.D recommendations for you:
    Interloper: A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena
    Psittacine: Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman (There is a parrot. He's important)
    Sibilate: The Wildings by Nilanjana Roy
    Today's W.o.t.D is Rewild! The Hundred Names of Darkness by Nilanjana Roy. (Is recommending a sequel to a previous rec cheating? Oh well)
    I'm really impressed by your channel. Your videos are so unique to booktube, and I'm blown away by all the prep work and time and effort you put into them. Keep up the terrific work!

    I’ve been thinking of making a vocabulary page for my bullet journal, so that every time I come across a new word in my reading (or wherever), I can write it down along with the definition, and always have it there to reference since it’s so easy to forget the meaning of new words! I’m hoping maybe physically writing them and their meanings down would help me actually learn and remember them. and this video just reminded me of that idea, which I had forgotten 😂 this was really fun, thanks Kayla! 🍎🤓💜

    For Cyclopean, my mind immediately goes to the Percy Jackson series. Even if you're not a fan of YA, if you like magic, mythology, humor, or honestly just some really fun relationships (both friends and romantic) its a great read. I'm not in the mood to bother reading the follow-up series atm, but that is great as well

    You're so creative lately! I love your video ideas. I knew a few of these words, I didn't know most of them (but then English is not my first language, it is the second language I learned). I think plage is actually the French word for 'beach'. Interregnum comes from the Latin words 'inter' (between) and 'regnum' (kingdom). I loved the atweel / surely / shirley part.
