@@BooksandLala I would say Pisces is the opposite sign of Aries as aries is the youngest sign and pisces is the oldest, aries is fire and pisces is water, and their energies are completely different. I'm a pisces btw and we have very different reading tastes haha, but some similarities too. it would be very interesting to see what you'd think of a "pisces" TBR :)

Safiya Nygaard did a great video about “dressing like her sign” and she wasn’t really happy with any of the looks and (to my memory) they instead started dressing her like her Rising Sign and she liked those more. They had a good explanation for why that was so I highly recommend if you needed some explanation on why your tastes might be a little off for your Sun Sign 😊
Holy shit I just watched the part about sleep and my bed is facing a mirror and with the foot pointed towards the door. My actual personality is so different from the stereotypical, business-minded and financed-focused Capricorn. Astrology is really fun, but I don’t take it seriously. Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry was required reading for my 7th grade Language Arts class, and I absolutely loved it. I read it in one weekend, weeks ahead of our schedule, and thought it was such a powerful book. I reread it last year and stand by my original love for it too! It's disappointing to hear about the negativity surrounding it on Goodreads.

I liked On the Road but I can understand what you mean, it is an aimless sort of book (which is also kind of the theme, so fitting I guess?). I think it's mostly popular because it's atmospheric and the history around it is iconic, but it ís basically a semi-autobiographical, self indulgent, self gratifying jerk off by Kerouac (and I say that with the utmost respect and appreciation for this book haha). If you don't already know the story: Kerouac was out of his mind on benzedrine and wrote this book almost all in one sitting (three weeks, a 120 feet roll of pieces of paper taped together which he named 'The Scroll'. Yes, really). It was later revised and published. I guess it is mostly appealing because it was written post WWII and so it has this kind of 'wild for life' vibe to it that really resonated with people at the time, but at the same time it has themes of loneliness and the idea that you can have this crazy life with drugs, women, music, etc. and still everything will go to shit. So basically artsy-hipster-boy-aesthetics in a way. Also the writing, while it is very absurdly bad (and outright boring) in some places, is absolutely gorgeous in others. Like this very famous quote: “But then they danced down the street like dingledodies, and I shambled after as I've been doing all my life after people who interest me, because the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders acfonross the stars...” SO GOOD! I enjoyed it, don't know what that says about me haha.

I get why Lala made the points she did though because the book really is a reflection of a small part of American history before the hippies when the beatnik gen were in their YOLO phase. 😊 I first read the book after coming across The Beat Museum in SF. For me, knowing the contributions of Kerouac, Burroughs, and friends on American history and literature is what made reading this story that feels like a fever dream so enjoyable. Also, the story of how On the Road was written is more interesting than the book in some places, Imo.

Ahhhh I'm an Aries this was so fun to watch. I read Dry recently and loved it up til the ending. I gave it a 3 star but really enjoyed the premise. Now I want to keep up with Reese Witherspoons bookclub haha. If you haven't read Where The Crawdads Sing, it was apart of her bookclub and I LOVED it.

As an Aries I had to pause when you said you rarely finish a coloring page, because literally SAME. I really love this video. I don't know if I'll read any of those, but maybe a few! I would be really interested in seeing if I like the recommended books better for my rising Aquarius or my Virgo moon. I wonder if another part of our personality influences things like reading choices more than our core. If I had to guess, I think rising sign books would be the ones we end up most excited to talk about and moon sign books end up the ones we secretly enjoy most deeply. But of course, that also can come down to how well they're really being recommended.
I took the same quiz and got Aries, too. All of my choices were different too. So, I don’t trust it. Pride and Prejudice is very different from Lord of the Flies. 😂
I love and appreciate an entire hour's journey. I love the setup, I love how it was still an adventure even though we're all trapped in the house. Want to try a different zodiac sign in the future? 'The Dry' by Jane Harper is also actually pretty good too. It's a mystery thriller set in Australia during a drought. It might be a good blend of stuff you like and stuff you don't. It's from the perspective of a cop but he's not the lead investigator, while also kind of involved in the mystery.

OMG 😂 so I visited all the websites, made a list of all the books recommended for my sun, rising and moon signs and : all the books that I already read were 5 stars (Sadie, An ember in the ashes, Little women, The Poet X, We were liars) and among the other books, some are high on my TBR list (Blanca y Roja, The Starless sea, The weight of the stars, The Nightingale...). Roll of Thunder , Hear My Cry was required reading for me in Ireland as well when I was in secondary school, about aged 13/14 I think. We also read a snippet from it in primary school when I was 9 or 10 I think about Cassie getting the second-hand books in school and that's when I first read the trilogy because I loved it so much. I'm glad I read it young as it opened up my eyes to what I probably wouldn't have realised before. It's really disturbing to hear of the bad reviews on Goodreads :( This book is so excellent. I really recommend the third book in particular as Cassie is a young woman in it and it's so lovely seeing her grown up.
My husband also recently got into Audiobooks and so far i've got him to read a bunch of my fave series. We just did something similar to you and Robbie and are reading a series together. Im doing a reread to be able to remember the details but it's a lot of fun being able to do that together. Also Moscato is the best wine hands down!

I’m a cancer and it seems like a lot of the books are just “this will make you cry” ahaha which I’m honestly into. It’s interesting because I relate a lot to being a cancer but my rising sign is an aries which feels so contrary to my nature (even just talking about the books the cancer ones are a lot more my style)

Ahhhh I'm an Aries this was so fun to watch. I read Dry recently and loved it up til the ending. I gave it a 3 star but really enjoyed the premise.
Now I want to keep up with Reese Witherspoons bookclub haha. If you haven't read Where The Crawdads Sing, it was apart of her bookclub and I LOVED it.

As an Aries I had to pause when you said you rarely finish a coloring page, because literally SAME. I really love this video. I don't know if I'll read any of those, but maybe a few! I would be really interested in seeing if I like the recommended books better for my rising Aquarius or my Virgo moon. I wonder if another part of our personality influences things like reading choices more than our core. If I had to guess, I think rising sign books would be the ones we end up most excited to talk about and moon sign books end up the ones we secretly enjoy most deeply. But of course, that also can come down to how well they're really being recommended.

I love and appreciate an entire hour's journey. I love the setup, I love how it was still an adventure even though we're all trapped in the house. Want to try a different zodiac sign in the future? I suggest Capricorn mainly because I am and every time I look at one of those recommendation lists I don't think I'll like any of them!

'The Dry' by Jane Harper is also actually pretty good too. It's a mystery thriller set in Australia during a drought. It might be a good blend of stuff you like and stuff you don't. It's from the perspective of a cop but he's not the lead investigator, while also kind of involved in the mystery.

OMG 😂 so I visited all the websites, made a list of all the books recommended for my sun, rising and moon signs and : all the books that I already read were 5 stars (Sadie, An ember in the ashes, Little women, The Poet X, We were liars) and among the other books, some are high on my TBR list (Blanca y Roja, The Starless sea, The weight of the stars, The Nightingale...). I love this video. I found a lot of books I've never heard of before and it makes me so happy. Thank you for this ! 💙

Roll of Thunder , Hear My Cry was required reading for me in Ireland as well when I was in secondary school, about aged 13/14 I think. We also read a snippet from it in primary school when I was 9 or 10 I think about Cassie getting the second-hand books in school and that's when I first read the trilogy because I loved it so much. I'm glad I read it young as it opened up my eyes to what I probably wouldn't have realised before. It's really disturbing to hear of the bad reviews on Goodreads :( This book is so excellent. I really recommend the third book in particular as Cassie is a young woman in it and it's so lovely seeing her grown up.

My husband also recently got into Audiobooks and so far i've got him to read a bunch of my fave series. We just did something similar to you and Robbie and are reading a series together. Im doing a reread to be able to remember the details but it's a lot of fun being able to do that together.

I’m a cancer and it seems like a lot of the books are just “this will make you cry” ahaha which I’m honestly into. It’s interesting because I relate a lot to being a cancer but my rising sign is an aries which feels so contrary to my nature (even just talking about the books the cancer ones are a lot more my style)

I loved this video! It would be awesome if you made a similar video but reading like a Taurus instead since its your moon sign! It would be cool to see which one you relate to more, your sun sign (aries) or your moon sign. We tend to relate more internally to our moon sign, so could be you would like Taurus books better.
