You're right about Tom Jones being a heart throb for the ladies since he became famous in the mid 1960's. This performance explains it all. He had good songs, had a nice look, and was a great singer and performer. There are many interesting connections between the great rock artists of the 1960's and 70's, and this is one that's interesting to me. When Tom Jones was much older he gave an interview talking about his early days. With a smile on his face , he proudly told of the time he was recording a song in the studio, and Jimmy Page (guitarist of Led Zeppelin) played guitar and harmonica on some of his songs. This was prior to Led Zeppelin when Jimmy was am sought after guitarist in a recording studio.
I was in High School when "This is Tom Jones" aired (on ABC in the US). I was a long-haired hippie, and primarily into boundary pushing rock, jazz and folk, but I always watched his show. There was no denying his showmanship and voice, and it didn't hurt that he often had great musical guests, like Janis Joplin and The Who.
Thank you Dear Sweet Lady for playing a song by Tom Jones. I like you enjoyed it very much. Please play another song by Tom Jones called "Delilah". And of course let mevknow what you think about it. Have a Blessed Evening. Adios.
"Treat Her Right" was written and first recorded in 1965 by Texas blue-eyed soul artist Roy Head. It has sonce been covered by countless artists, including Bob Dylan.
Now knighted “Sir”. A career that is becoming difficult these days. Worked as a vacuum cleaner salesman, sang in bars in the evenings as "Tiger Tom". Today he is the “Tiger” and still kisses the most beautiful women (like he did back then).
I think Bruce Springsteen did it better but then again I've seen Bruce live in concert 108 times and I was at that show when he did "Treat Her Right" lol.
Hahaha, those moves...OMG! I think he owned every dance floor he stepped on! What a performer!

I took my Wife to see him at the London Palladium, Man I got so jealous🤣
I suggest the song, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, Live on the Dusty Springfield show, 1967. His vocal range is amazing.
