About Master Roshi’s lesson about stronger opponents, Raditz: It’s alright old man, I get what your saying. Truth is that for all my boasting I’m actually a low class saiyan. I won’t last a a few seconds if I had to fight elites. But thanks for the motivation! I’ll continue training to surpass them!
Yeah, understanding he's not the strongest out there certainly isn't a problem. If anything I think the lesson Raditz needs to learn (and what Roshi will try to beat into him, win or lose) is to not look down on and underestimate foes that are weaker than him. Raditz may be able to body everything on Earth with his base stats alone, but if he's not careful a clever and skilled fighter will come along to put that Saiyan pride in its place.
I think Roshi’s lesson will take a different tack. Clearly, Raditz already knows he’s one of, if not the, most powerful person on earth right now, including Roshi. The lesson he needs isn’t that others can be more powerful (he knows this already), but that being outclassed in power doesn’t mean that there aren’t still ways to win that don’t involve cowardly tactics. That’s a lesson Roshi can easily teach through his bag of tricks, experience, and overall wiliness as a fighter. And one that’ll serve Raditz well when the Saiyan’s arrive.
Something I've always found interesting is how if the saiyans got about to Zarbon or Dodoria's powerlevel, they could completely rebel and lure the Ginyus to a planet with a full moon. A Great Ape ambush prioritizing Captain Ginyu and boom, Frieza's top enforcers are gone! Really puts into perspective why Frieza was so scared of saiyans.
To quote Frieza in Bardock: The Father of Goku, "Only a fool would welcome that scenario" over Zarbon suggesting a similar idea. Frieza was no fool, and thought about it for quite a while, assumingly
A sudden thought occurred, Raditz’s wish for his brother made so that he could come to harm and that punch from Nappa made Kakarots power level jump in response. Kinda reminds me of a certain Saiyan that’s stranded with his father on a forgotten yellow planet in Frieza’s sphere. In short, Kakarot’s *”Learning as he fights”*
I love Kakarot and Nappa's dynamic SO much. Even if I predict poor Nappa's probably going to inevitably bite it at some point order to further Kakarot's future development, being both the both the boy's "Grandpa Gohan" AND "Krillin" in this branch, it's only going to be even more interesting how that affects a Kakarot that grew up this way.
Makes sense though tbh, with Raditz' power level at the start of the adventure being so much higher than Goku's was, he kinda has to stack the deck against him a bit so he doesn't stagnate before the Saiyans show up. Especially with Kakarot's Zrenkai boosts being so overtuned now.
I am really scared about what's going to happen when Raditz finally wishes his brother to earth. The sudden power gap with the people who would show up looking for him is going to be nuts.
I think something might happen that will prevent the use of the Dragon Balls to bring Kakarot to Earth. Remember in canon, when the Dragon Team tried to wish Goku back to Earth with Porunga after he defeated Frieza? It didn't work, since Goku is beyond Porunga's power, as well as his lack of consent to be teleported as he wanted to continue training on Yardrat. I think something bad will happen to Nappa (either by Vegeta's hand, Zarbon's or even Frieza's) and Kakarot will decline to go to Earth. Kakarot is already far more powerful than Kami or Raditz, so he can decline the wish from Shenron if he chooses.

So a bit of a thought for the future: Remember in the Frieza saga where Goku refused to come to earth, despite the Dragonball's powers? Well assuming Nappa is still alive by the point Raditz and the gang get the Dragonballs, do you think maybe something could happen where Raditz wishes for Kakarot to come to Earth, but Kakarot resists the wish unless it is wished for Nappa to also come? Then you have both Raditz, Kakarot, and Nappa on Earth, and that could be the the start of a "What if Raditz and Nappa turned good" in the same story kind of thing. Though Nappa's turn would only be just beginning, with Raditz maybe having to convince him to be good. Then you have three Saiyans ready to take on Vegeta, Frieza, and whatever else may come their way!
It does raise a very good question: how DID Goku do that again? Just stopping himself from being teleported to Earth? I've tried to figure it out for years but I just can't figure it out.
I recall that at the end of the Frieza saga when they asked Porunga to bring goku back to earth, porunga asked Goku if he wanted to come back to earth. This led to Goku declining the offer.
@@jlantern100 Yes, I know that part, but why specifically that ONE time. Does that mean when Porunga teleported everyone off Namek, he asked every single one of them if they wanted to go to Earth? Does that happen EVERY time a Dragon teleports someone? Seems kind of like overcomplicating how this works.
@@alexanderstavroulakis335 I think whenever a person has more power than Porunga he can only move them if they subconsciously or consciously wants to be moved from where they are. In the case of namek everyone probably wanted to escape already, so he didn't have to ask. Asking the question is probably just a way to give someone the option to accept if they are too powerful and subconsciously resisting.
Actually all said coming to Earth was the best thing for radish man. In cannon with him having lived his life under the freeza force, the experience is enough to make a grown man cry. I think I speak for everyone here when I say the guy really needs a hug.

I think Krillin will get this as Raditz is very alike to Yamcha : too boastful about his own power. Also, when we talk about Yamcha...I think they might get really along if he will eventually join the Turtle School to train. I hope it will happen as you know, Raditz does need a friend and a sparing partner since Krillin is out of the equation. Also since Crane's School is more about Ki control and creating techniques...hm...could Krillin potentially learn Solar Flare early? Maybe even Dodon Ray, or Four-Arms Technique? Or the Duplication. Tho in the original Krillin was well...quite a coward. And he did struggle a lot with Ki control (and was the fourth person to learn the Kamehameha, the third being Yamcha and remember - Yamcha joined later than Krillin). I can't see him use the Destructo Disc yet as it's way out of his league for now. That also makes him never to learn Afterimage or Kamehameha or the Spread variant that he used against Saibamen. I'm really looking forward to the progress of Krillin's character.
Good points all. Though you could also take a cue from Krillin's match with both Goku and Gohan in Super leading up to the ToP. If he's clever enough about it, he can *definitely* take advantage of the rules to make up for the power gap, if not to win (since I feel like we're still going to get the Jackie Chun lesson here), then at least to make a good showing. What'll be interesting is to see how Krillin ends up playing off of Tienshinhan and Chaotzu. While they were 'bad guys', Tien would not have been cool with the kind of conniving, cowardly sort of deal Krillin was at the time. I don't see them getting along very well at all. Not that Master Shen wouldn't have exploited that for everything it was worth.
I like this a lot! I'm also looking forward to seeing if Krillin does a Tien-style heelturn or not, wanting to win not by outside interference but his own skills to show that he's better. I'm glad he's not out of the story completely, but I'd love to see the development into becoming more friendly (or at least respectful) rivals in the process.
I'm betting this Krillin will not reform as easily. We have already seen that his personality hasn't changed at all after meeting Raditz, unlike Goku. In fact, it's gotten even worse because of Raditz, and Roshi's disapproval of the whole situation. Yamcha is also a variable in this What If too.
For some reason, I could see Raditz being best friends with Tien, depending on how they handle Krillin, and what Krillin himself is like. I doubt he would be besties with Raditz, though.

Now this new rivalry you set up between Krillin and Raditz, chefs kiss. This story is going to end up as my second favorite, with the first being Goku beat Master Roshi because of Rivalry Goku has with Tenshinhan!
Yay! More Raditz! Given how much Raditz has learned, I have a feeling the fight with Killin will go south, but my bet is on Krillin instigating it and Raditz falling for it and getting into lots of trouble for it.
I like the progression of this What If and I'm looking forward to Raditz and Kakarot's eventual reunion. I wonder if it'll take place in a Dragon Ball arc and we'll see Nappa come to Earth looking for his little buddy in Z or if Kakarot will take Raditz's place.
I just imagined Bulma being held in Raditz’s arms, a thought bubble over her head of her and Raditz getting married, and Raditz looking confused while asking ‘Wha… what’s a threshold?”

Huh? I didn't think Launch would make her way into the story this way neat although Raditz and Bulma Relationship have a possibly road block of Launch now hopefully it stays strong. Krillin with the Crane School during the tournament makes sense maybe Raditz beating Krillin will finally open up his eyes and Krillin can come back to the Turtle School more humble. Finally a warning from Frieza I wonder what Nappa will do here now? Anyways another really good part, and looking forward to the next part soon.

Another good part! It might've been easy to guess where Krillin would end up, but there's no reasonable way he'd get along with Raditz. Separately, for storytelling purposes, it might be better to not have Kakarot learn about the wish, but I doubt that'll fit into what you have planned. Launch's inclusion was definitely interesting on its own. Wonder how this'll go once Raditz can sense energy?
This is going in an interesting direction I mean Nappa and Raditz are basicly good guys in this to a degree this could honestly lead to a full on redemption arch for all sayens perhaps? also I'm wondering if Raditz still get's with Launche or if he sticks with Bulma this time around? How this all could spin around is verry interesting.
That just goes to show how compelling this story is, I’d hate to see what ruins the Bulma x Raditz relationship no matter who’s meant for whom. I also hope Kakarot can still settle down with Chichi despite thinking that he should be preparing this planet for Lord Frieza goshdarnit!

at the moment, I am not sure if even Tenshinhan is a worthy challenge for Raditz..... he's probably anywhere between 200 to 800, so the red ribbon army would be a laughing matter, and with how strong everyone is getting, I know Gero adjusts his Androids to their power levels, but I am afraid they'll be too strong for anything Gero could use against them.... maybe Perfect Cell would be a challenge, but the other Androids... not so much.
I feel bad for our Monk not being able to be with the turtle school but...Crane School Krillin huh? Man this feels like an extra what if . I wonder if we can get him to come back to the good side.
I hope he does make a mistake here, it would be more interesting if Raditz becomes brave and honorable from realizing the downside of his roguish ways.

I like the progression of this What If and I'm looking forward to Raditz and Kakarot's eventual reunion. I wonder if it'll take place in a Dragon Ball arc and we'll see Nappa come to Earth looking for his little buddy in Z or if Kakarot will take Raditz's place.

Huh? I didn't think Launch would make her way into the story this way neat although Raditz and Bulma Relationship have a possibly road block of Launch now hopefully it stays strong. Krillin with the Crane School during the tournament makes sense maybe Raditz beating Krillin will finally open up his eyes and Krillin can come back to the Turtle School more humble. Finally a warning from Frieza I wonder what Nappa will do here now? Anyways another really good part, and looking forward to the next part soon.

Another good part! It might've been easy to guess where Krillin would end up, but there's no reasonable way he'd get along with Raditz. Separately, for storytelling purposes, it might be better to not have Kakarot learn about the wish, but I doubt that'll fit into what you have planned.

he's probably anywhere between 200 to 800, so the red ribbon army would be a laughing matter, and with how strong everyone is getting, I know Gero adjusts his Androids to their power levels, but I am afraid they'll be too strong for anything Gero could use against them.... maybe Perfect Cell would be a challenge, but the other Androids... not so much.
