Thank you for the positive reviews of Detroit and some of our favorite foods! Glad that you mentioned your prior impressions were changed by your visit to our beautiful city. Love watching your adventures!
Thank you Bill and Lisa for shouting out Windsor; Detroit's Canadian neighbour. And thank you for sharing some of the great things Detroit has to offer. It's a beautiful city with so much history and culture. Huge fan of you both! Especially love all your Vegas videos that made my recent trip a super food adventure!
The original Buddy's is on 6th & Conant in Detroit, not Dearborn, but the food is the same across all metro-Detroit locations. I used to work at the Auburn Hills restaurant. Next time try the Antipasto salad!
Yum on the pizza and dogs! Check out Buffalo NY sometime! Anchor Bar for the OG Buffalo Wings! And the Charlie the Butcher for their Beef on Weck! Delish! Happy travels!
Awww yeah! American vs Lafayette!! And Buddy's! I would have recommended the Bucharest Grill too, but you only had so much time and tummy space.👍😁I hope you can make your way back in the future and spend some more time here. If we ever get baseball again, Comerica Park is a great place to catch a game. (Even if the Tigers are terrible)
Welcome back! I miss you both It’s been 5 days since your last post and when you do post you keep them coming I love the fact you add the fun fact about every place you visit I’m just waiting for Mexico’s city 🤔😊
Thanks Marta! Mexico City was actually supposed to happen this past week, but ended up going to St Louis/Detroit instead for a couple reasons, 50% thunderstorms on that Tues, and $200 airport exit tax for the both of us! eek. Thinking we'll need to have at least 2 full days to make the tax cost worth it. That said, Mexico City is still on our list!
So glad to see you two make it to my home state. Wish I could have seen you guys. I would have loved to meet you both. Your vlogs are awesome and even though I don't always comment, just know I watch every single one of them. Much love Lisa and Bill ❤
Love the channel and your personalites so much! ! If you got the "old town pepperoni" (on the menu) you would have had the "ronicup" experience with Buddy"s. I bet if you tried the "Detroiter" on the menu with the cups, Prince's would not have won your vote! I've never tried Prince's, but I thank you so much for introducing me to them because I live in LA and I will give them a try to see who I think is the best. I worked at Buddy's and learned "Nonna's" recepie as teenager. Brick cheese is hard to get in LA, so I actually get Buddy's shiped from the Dearbon location, time to time. Please never sell out, and keep up the great work! :)
Never been to Detroit. Had no idea they were just across from Canada. Just looked it up on the map. WOW! They are a border city just like my hometown! Too cool. Those hot dogs looked so good and can definitely go for a "splice" of that pizza (think that beer hit Lisa more than she thought 🤣). Learn something new everyday. Another great trip and video. Thank you for the great food reviews and geography lessons!
@@billandlisa Niagara Falls would seriously only take you a few hours to see,. There are some wineries, but I know beer is more your thing. . Flying into Toronto would give you a good drive along Lake Ontario to the falls (90 min). Well, I guess you could fly into Buffalo. but very little to see on the US side. Both sides have a casino (Canadian side has 2 and no tax on winnings!.)
@@craighuxtable746 We've seen vlogs comparing the falls from the US vs Canada side and it seems there's a lot more to do on the Canadian side. For time and flight routing, we'll most likely fly into BUF then just check things out on the Canada side.
Great video in Detroit. FYI for your next visit; I believe if you have an "enhanced" driver's license, you do not need a passport to go to Canada. It's the same as going to the Caribbean.
As a Michigander I'm happy you made a visit to Detroit - the city has a lot of great things going for it, and you found several of them. Did you notice when you were looking at Canada, it was to the south? LOL.
@7:21 The Monument to Joe Louis, known also as The Fist, is a memorial located at Detroit's Hart Plaza, dedicated to boxer Joe Louis. Dedicated on October 16, 1986, the sculpture, commissioned by Sports Illustrated magazine from the Mexican-American sculptor Robert Graham (1938-2008), and poured by the legendary bronze artist, Rolf Kriken, is a 24-foot-long (7.3 m) arm with a fisted hand suspended by a 24-foot-high (7.3 m) pyramidal framework. It represents the power of his punch both inside and outside the ring. Because of Louis' efforts to fight Jim Crow laws, the fist was symbolically intended as a statement against racism.
Aloha, Bill and Lisa! Hey, the next time you're on Maui and you're craving a chili dog come up here to Haiku, and check out Fukushima's Store. It's an old country store, probably 75 years old and they have a little bit of everything, but locals love their chili dogs. So ono!
Man, you two come to my town and I missed you. You have to hit the tourist spots on the first visit but I’m glad you enjoyed them. Next time, let me be your host. We’ll grab a Deli Slice from Dan & Vi’s, some kielbasa and pierogi from Srodek’s and Bon Bons from Bon, Bon, Bon in Hamtramck, a quick stop to Shatila Bakery and a taco smash at Taqueria El Ray.
some good eats in Windsor - Bring your passports next time. Lots of good Italian and Lebanese. Love Detroit has so many good places to eat. Duly's also makes a great Coney. Now, you will hear they don't have the same snap, but honestly I don't miss it. It's however been a few years since I've been home.
did u see us wave, we live in Windsor across the river; although I work in Detroit. We have been watching you for awhile, funny you came to our neck in the woods, you're not going to believe this but I am heading to LA on Saturday. Lol
Thank you for a peak into Detroit. Were your hotdogs all beef? You said the casing had a snap. Anything like a Nathan's hot dog? Would have liked a taste of the hot dog plain. Thanks for your cheesecake taste. Cold perhaps they were frozen before they were put on the truck in the morning. The taste at room temp would have been richer and creamier and sweeter, too. jmo
For a sec., I thought you were about to say, when people think of Detroit pizza, they think of Little Caesars. There is also a chain called Jets pizza that specializes in square cut pizza.
That wasn’t the original Buddy’s location, but that location was best for you to visit being tourists, because the original location is in a rough neighborhood.....F.Y.I. Buddy’s has a location a few Blocks down the street from Lafayette & American within walking distance
I enjoy watching you both, thanks!

This was our first visit to Downtown Detroit, so glad we finally got the chance to explore and eat there!

C. Truong We had such a fun time in Detroit! And, we may be heading to Vegas soon!
C. Truong we do love our neighbors in Windsor!
Detroit is such a great city. They have fought through some turbulence and now are on an upswing. BTW, that pizza looks legit!
I’m certain some mentioned Greektown. Plenty-O-foodie delights there!

You guys are so cool, love your show!
Both dogs are great! I like to get a greek salad with my coney at American.
I was born in Dearborn and grew up down from Detroit metropolitan airport in Wayne. My mother always told me they named the city after me. Great Vlog.
Wayne Chernick Thanks Wayne!
hot dogs! looks super good...and worlds famous square pizza...the cheesee...yumm ^^
That pizza looked perfect !!
Looking great Lisa! Oh, yeah,Bill too!
I love that cheese stretch! "It's art look it up"! Lol Lisa!
Food looks awesome Detroit looks pretty cool💖💖💖💖
Vonda Fallis Yes!!
Oh gosh oh gosh chili dogs are now on my fall winter rotation. My mouth is watering!🦋💜
Good stuff!
Great vlog, everything looked delicious
Damn, those chili dogs look good. Now, I want a chili dog! lol

OMG I've watched all your blogs that's🍕🍕 the top pizza
Thanks for the review on Buddy’s. We’re headed to Detroit in November so I’ll definitely add this to the itinerary!
Anytime Maile! Buddy's offers some interesting pies, we ended up ordering the Detroiter, so good. Have fun in DTW!

Yvonne Acosta Anytime, Yvonne! We didn’t know Detroit bordered Canada either!
Well, you almost made it to Canada! Maybe next time. Nice tour of Detroit food spots on this quick visit.
Almost. lol We think our first visit to Canada should be either Vancouver or Niagra Falls. We'll for sure visit one day soon.

LOL Lincoln!

Restyle Secrets Noticed it was to the south only because we looked at a map. lol
I'm a native Detroiter and appreciate your positive feedback on The D!!

Maui Mom Thanks for the recommendation, MM!
I always make sure to eat at the Coney Island hot dog place at the Detroit Airport. For taste and price, that's the best airport restaurant in the US!
We've eaten at that place too inside DTW! lol

You guys are lucky to eat that dog! Looks tastey.
Buddy’s pizza is the best. BTW the OG location is in Detroit on the corner of Six Mile and Conant. I agree, American Coney is better. Love you guys.
Thanks for the info, the original location from what we've seen looks more old school. Thanks for watching, Will!
Whoa...the pizza looked ono. None of that pre-made generic sauce. I like that you can actually see the tomato and herbs in the sauce. Yums.
chubbs 500 Yes! Now we can’t go back to frozen pizzas. lol
World Traveler I live Michigan I've never been wow.
Eating flaming hot Cheetos while watching your videos 😩😩 not fair. Food looks so good from the bbq to hot dogs etc 😋😋. Great job always
Bk Thanks Bk!

luck is long gone We did see you wave! lol. Have a great time in LA!
@ 15:45 lol... I want sum Pizza Rock!!!
I did notice the difference in service, and presentation. The second place looked if they just threw the food together and then threw at you

Jerome Morgenstern From what I’ve read about both places, they use pork meat only for their hotdogs. Casing snap is similar to Nathan’s.
It's a koegels hot dog made right here where I'm from in flint, Michigan about an hour north of Detroit.
Come to Philly! I’ll show you around!
W.frances Mecke Been to Philly, we have a vlog on all those yummy cheesesteaks!
Lisa wears very pretty tops
More Detroit
I’ll guide y’all
Hi Guys, that pizza and cheesecake looked so yummy. Loved seeing parts of Detroit. Another great video!!🌭🍺🍕🍰

Yes, you're correct... our mistake. Still was delicious though. lol
Lisa is so cute, I can see why you married her Bill.....
As good as a NY dirty water?
Only hotdog we had in NY was Nathan's at Coney Island. That one was pretty good!
You guys are in the minority. American pales in comparison.
