Thanks for clearing that up; I've worked Merchant Marine long ago, but not quite into your area, and wondered a bit. My motto then was "if the Captain or officer said so". I hope your other academic endeavors are going well. Hope the phrase "Feet Wet" finds your in an "internet free world" for a few hours!

I thought you were going to say “short” . Limited glory made me laugh so loud my own domestic guru was startled. Thanks.

Thanks. It is a pity you couldn't have any of Pavel Nikitin's kits physically beside you, I believe all of his kits use frames.

Yes, we have some models from his collection. But unfortunately, not all of his kits have historical frames. He stylizes them but also places them randomly where he sees fit to simplify the design so that even a beginner can build his ships. Only the boats and his shalop have historic accuracy in hull design, but still weak rigging. Modelers must add their own research to recreate a historically accurate model. Like any other manufacturer, you get a basic model that you can improve to a historical copy!

Hello: very good information that you have brought with your illustration, I wonder if you know of any company that is very precise in the construction of models like Nikiti. Thank you.

Nikitin creates many details, but he also does not follow the historical accuracy of the ships, his kits are also limited by the capabilities of laser machines. He only created boats more or less accurately. The SHALOP is more or less accurate, the hull is definitely made perfectly, but there are problems with the rigging. Who is a sailor will immediately ask how to take this boat with this forward yard, etc...
