This is the best guide I have ever watched. So detailed and well written and thought out, I actually understood 100% of it. I was going to use Zizaran's version of this build but your guide is so much easier to understand and you covered all the bases. Thank you!
@@AB21 Most of his builds are proven to be good though, so what is your point? He mainly makes guides for new (or fairly new) players and they are very detailed with both a youtube video and a step by step guide in pob, more detailed than any other pobs i've seen. And with mostly realistic dps and obtainable gear (atleast for new players). I do however think Esoros guides are awesome aswell, although they are a bit of a noob trap. For example gear that is not obtainable as a new player, unless they somehow obtain a fair (sometimes massive) amount of currency. He also "cheats" a bit in pob by checking out certain things that is not always active, maybe 2 - 3 times a map, for a few seconds. Vaal Arc...Vaal RF... It's a best case cenario kind of damage.

@@AB21 Well, i agree that some of his league start builds aren't tested. But that's because it's new skills, which means that none have. He states that in the video, so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. However, it does not mean that the guides aren't good. He still provides a better detailed step by step leveling guide than anything else I've seen, and he does not throw in those "best case scenario kind of damage" to trick anyone. While i agree that Esoro guides is also good, it's a bad idea starting a league with them, especially if you're a new player. It even takes a week before he even throw out a new guide (which means you would need to follow an old build guide), and not many new players can afford these kind of items (Pledge of hands 5+ linked, Cloak of defiance 5 linked, atziri's foible.. just to name a few). At least not a week into a league.

You have an excellent spoken voice that's easy on the ears. Normally I don't enjoy guides that hover on the 30+ min mark but you break down everything nicely is sections that's easy to follow/transition, like a well-written easy that has defined paragraphs. I'm trying Crackling Lance assassin now but probably switching to Arc soon. However, I don't have the mana for Archmage, let alone the currency for the 2x 6l uniques so instead of AM I am trying the Crit Dmg gem for around 105+ more crit multi. I don't think this will be as viable as AM but with 6 power charges + allocating points up to Disciple of the Forbidden I have a lot of crit chance. Like and subbed.
uhm correct me if i'm wrong but Esoro said that the body armor dont need to be 6 linked (the 6. socket is for the aura) so you "only" need a 6 link pledge and a 5 link 6 socketed cloak of defiance

Instead of running an Assassin variant, I was considering going Hierophant due to the buffs to Arcane Surge and Conviction of Power (+4 Min Power & Endurance Charges)

If i may i would like to suggest a build around the dancing duo sword, love this weapon, it is not really used but it as so much potential ! One of the best agressiv AI of the game. Thx you again !
This build feels really good, i took Glancing blows for extra survival and it seems to work really well even when using spell echo in the links on the staff. Its worth the 3 points

Problem right now with this build is you need minimum tabula to make it work on early mappig or you doing no damage. Also The Med-Cheap uniques are currently 1-3 ex each making it not starter friendly at all.
Pledge of hands is rarely "cheap" but this shit makes things you want to try much harder to get. At least Mathil is conscious of this effect and builds super weird off meta stuff that won't demolish a market for a ton of people.
@@netherlim just because of how bl works, with a ver ylittle investment and slower projectiles support it basically hits 10 times on average if not more, so any flat damage u give it is multiplied by 10, it has only 50% damage effectiveness so its basically multiplied by 5, but most spells have under 100% effectiveness anyways

hey, how do i make the build feel less janky, i tried getting more cast speed but it still takes almost a full second for all the echoes, how much cast speed do i need until it feels a bit better and less slow to cast?
@@anthonyrobinson5116 if ur having problems with it aswell just get more action speed and cast speed and make sure u have a six link, its really important.
Ah yes, Arc-Mage is always good. The Hybrid Scion-Assassin is a really cool mechanic to use, I've always liked Scions in general because of their flexibility! Any thoughts on a full phys focused Sci-Clone build? Great work as always Esoro ^_^/
He usually updates the POB after the patch notes are out. Will be interesting to see how the different arc build guides changes now when elementalist is updated.
For those who are using a fevered mind and need more mana sustain, I recommend a mana leech wrath watcher's eye and anointing Mind Drinker. Mind drinker is great if you dont have a cinderswallow or dont want to keep thinking about its flask charges

For those who have some troubles while bossing i found an amazing way to regain mana ASAP , just put Mana Leech Support into your Storm Brand Link should help you alot regaining mana while you burst / taking damage. Edit: And if you feel like you lack of survivability you should consider investing some points into Glancing Blows it's a realy strong node.

You speak very well. And it seems like pretty high video production too. Also note that Reflect is probably manageable with Soul of Yugul and spending 4 points to the left of Shadow's start. (85% reduction total) isn't necessarily worth it though, unless you maybe have regret orbs to throw away and save them for reflect maps and/or Atziri
Thanks for the guide, just a question your POB takes MOM despite wearing cloak of defiance yet in the Wiki: The Mind Over Matter mod has the same effect as the keystone, Mind Over Matter. Taking the keystone in addition to equipping this item will impart no additional benefit. Shouldn't you remove the keystone and save a point ?

Great build, just want to give people a warning Get a 5 link Pledge of Hands early to see if you like the game play.... I made it all the way to 90 before that and realized I hated it with the staff So rerolling now, don't be like me If you don't mind the staff gameplay then its a fun build, got up to T12 maps with nothing special and 2 mediocre wands. Atziri's Foible Paua Amulet basically carries the build to red maps with mediocre gear.
Pledge certainly isn't required to get solid performance out of the build. It starts to feel pretty smooth with some solid investment into cast speed. The more you get from jewels, gear, flasks, Tailwind, etc. the better the experience becomes. I reached a point that felt very smooth to play. Some seem to prefer running Unleash instead of Spell Echo. This results in absurdly strong damage spikes with less repeats but makes damage output less consistent. Those going this route you may want to anoint Thunderous Salvos.
I did the same thing dude, love the build and its such a well made guide. The only problem is the pledge of hands doesn't fit my playstyle, being locked into place no mater how long doesn't feel good ahh well back to the reroll
Started playing this build for Ritual and its been my most fun I've had in POE to date. Incredibly satisfying build to run, even without any of the required uniques, which are all still insanely expensive. Just hit Act 10 last night, which is very fast for me and got my Atziri's Foible so I'm almost at the point of turning on MoM and Agnostic. Went Ascendant and I'm still in two minds as to what to take for my second class, might go for Juggernaut for the survivability as I'm still a bit squishy but hitting like a truck. My compliments and thanks to Esoro for a fantastic league starter build.
Even without any of the uniques I found MoM to be useful. Even Agnosticism. It makes some stuff (trial/labyrinth traps) super easy. I can only afford one item right now, and I don't like spending so much on a Foible, and I'm not sure if I even want Defiance. I kind of wanted to try out Kaom's even though the regen is probably bad.
I am having trouble surviving on this character. I am the assassin lvl 87 and the only thing I don't use is the pledge of hands. 3000 life and 6500 mana. I also don't have the mana regen enchant on boots. Are the weapon and the mana regen enchant that important? How about alira? Also on your PoB, how do you have 55% and 54% chance to evade?
The problem for Assassin Class is lacking of mana regen. You've to trade if you go to Assassin Route. Assassin gives us much more DPS but hard to survive.
the weapon has 100% increased mana and greater spell echo. on my build that is about 3000 extra mana so yeah that might be it and I highly recommend you switch to scion and go inquisitor and pathfinder.
@@minhocho5487 Im using pledge and cloak of defiance also with scion ascendancy but still the survivability is not there because the offence and defence both share the same source. Any tips on how to upgrade?
@@MyRandoShit First off as a personal recommendation, I would recommend you switch to replica kaom's heart but try it out and see which one you prefer. second get a mana flask that has 66% increased effect but the flask effect will occur at the end of the duration. That is one of the core parts of the build because with the pathfinder acendency, you will pretty much get infinite flask charge and you can spam the flask to essentially get infinite mana. There is a video done by a youtuber named Big Ducks and on his ball lightning acendent, he goes into detail on how essential that flask is.
@@MyRandoShit With that build, as long as im spamming the mana flask, I was tanking t19 delirium legion and einhar at the same time as well as just melting them with my build.
If you're looking for a cheap DPS increase that will also help mana sustain, the new Replica Lavianga's Spirit mana flask is a decent holdover until you can get a cinderswallow. It gives me about 20% increased tooltip DPS from the mana cost increase alone, but offsets itself by increasing mana recovery as well. It's only like 5c as of this comment, so definitely worth looking into.
Kaj its not great but I’m having a fairly smooth time with arc/archmage right now since I have no mana issues. But I’m only about halfway through the acts
Well made guide Esoro, very high quality but I gotta say this. I cant recall last time I had such a horrible early leveling experience. Scion does NOT get Arc at level 12 as you state, so I started with Spark as suggested. First Spark - Arcane surge - added lightning with orb of storms - frostbomb - added lightning to support extra damage. Swapped to Control Destruction from Arcane Surge in act2. Its been horrible, I died 4 times to Weaver, I can't recall last time I died in acts, actually I usually get to late yellow-early red maps before dying at all. I only managed to do Oversoul, because of Eihar. I had to use 3-4 Portals on first encounter with Piety. Couldn't kill a single deli mob without getting slaughtered. I came to Solaris Temple and stopped last night, was too tilted/triggered/annoyed to continue. Now I slept and I will try agian. Maybe even buy Arc(if I got currency for it) as I decided to play trade because of 3 weeks Flashback. I were quite unlucky with things such as wisdoms, linked gear etc. But tbh, doubt it would have changed much. In the end all I can say so far, do not start with Spark. Edit1: So after I got arc from a friend, going into Solaris Temple, I can say it didn't help much. Been a horrible grind, now tho as I finished Act4, and got most things setup decent gear from drops. Malachai was fine and the build is starting to work. But been a struggle, with breaks because of frustration, and I usually don't get frustrated that easily.
Maxed out the build, kill everything 1 shot, can even do hotgm, dont want to play anymore beceause everything just dies. 10/10 can check poe.ninja : dimensionblades

Currently playing this build in Ritual. It so tanky for how much damage it deals. Managed to hit 98 the other day. Never killed bosses so easily. This guide is great! ^^ Also small tip to people playing it; not sure if Esoro mentions it but bind Arcane Cloak to your left click. You can still move as usual but it'll auto cast it for you.

@@rpemulis It can take a fair beating, but you're not immortal. There's not a lot of boss mechanics that will kill you. If you don't get oneshot you tend to regen your hp/mana back to full very fast.

I love Ziz but imo his builds are not worth using unless its like a build that is proven to be good (ex. ED Trickster).

Engineering Eternity always felt like he was trying to hard with his design and layout. Esoro's feels like a more "natural" professional to me.

For those who are using a fevered mind and need more mana sustain, I recommend a mana leech wrath watcher's eye and anointing Mind Drinker. Mind drinker is great if you dont have a cinderswallow or dont want to keep thinking about its flask charges

For those who have some troubles while bossing i found an amazing way to regain mana ASAP , just put Mana Leech Support into your Storm Brand Link should help you alot regaining mana while you burst / taking damage.

Also note that Reflect is probably manageable with Soul of Yugul and spending 4 points to the left of Shadow's start. (85% reduction total) isn't necessarily worth it though, unless you maybe have regret orbs to throw away and save them for reflect maps and/or Atziri

Thanks for the guide, just a question your POB takes MOM despite wearing cloak of defiance yet in the Wiki: The Mind Over Matter mod has the same effect as the keystone, Mind Over Matter. Taking the keystone in addition to equipping this item will impart no additional benefit. Shouldn't you remove the keystone and save a point ?

Get a 5 link Pledge of Hands early to see if you like the game play.... I made it all the way to 90 before that and realized I hated it with the staff
So rerolling now, don't be like me
If you don't mind the staff gameplay then its a fun build, got up to T12 maps with nothing special and 2 mediocre wands.
Atziri's Foible Paua Amulet basically carries the build to red maps with mediocre gear.
Pledge certainly isn't required to get solid performance out of the build. It starts to feel pretty smooth with some solid investment into cast speed. The more you get from jewels, gear, flasks, Tailwind, etc. the better the experience becomes. I reached a point that felt very smooth to play.
Some seem to prefer running Unleash instead of Spell Echo. This results in absurdly strong damage spikes with less repeats but makes damage output less consistent. Those going this route you may want to anoint Thunderous Salvos.
I did the same thing dude, love the build and its such a well made guide. The only problem is the pledge of hands doesn't fit my playstyle, being locked into place no mater how long doesn't feel good ahh well back to the reroll

Hoping more investing into cast speed makes it smoother. It's not bad for me but it definitely makes the build way slower to clear.

Started playing this build for Ritual and its been my most fun I've had in POE to date.
Incredibly satisfying build to run, even without any of the required uniques, which are all still insanely expensive.
Just hit Act 10 last night, which is very fast for me and got my Atziri's Foible so I'm almost at the point of turning on MoM and Agnostic.
Went Ascendant and I'm still in two minds as to what to take for my second class, might go for Juggernaut for the survivability as I'm still a bit squishy but hitting like a truck.
My compliments and thanks to Esoro for a fantastic league starter build.
Even without any of the uniques I found MoM to be useful. Even Agnosticism. It makes some stuff (trial/labyrinth traps) super easy.
I can only afford one item right now, and I don't like spending so much on a Foible, and I'm not sure if I even want Defiance. I kind of wanted to try out Kaom's even though the regen is probably bad.
@@MsHojat You can run kaoms but you'll need a foreboding mana flask instead.
I am having trouble surviving on this character. I am the assassin lvl 87 and the only thing I don't use is the pledge of hands. 3000 life and 6500 mana. I also don't have the mana regen enchant on boots. Are the weapon and the mana regen enchant that important? How about alira? Also on your PoB, how do you have 55% and 54% chance to evade?
The problem for Assassin Class is lacking of mana regen. You've to trade if you go to Assassin Route. Assassin gives us much more DPS but hard to survive.
the weapon has 100% increased mana and greater spell echo. on my build that is about 3000 extra mana so yeah that might be it and I highly recommend you switch to scion and go inquisitor and pathfinder.

@@MyRandoShit First off as a personal recommendation, I would recommend you switch to replica kaom's heart but try it out and see which one you prefer.
second get a mana flask that has 66% increased effect but the flask effect will occur at the end of the duration.
That is one of the core parts of the build because with the pathfinder acendency, you will pretty much get infinite flask charge and you can spam the flask to essentially get infinite mana. There is a video done by a youtuber named Big Ducks and on his ball lightning acendent, he goes into detail on how essential that flask is.
@@MyRandoShit With that build, as long as im spamming the mana flask, I was tanking t19 delirium legion and einhar at the same time as well as just melting them with my build.
I think I found a small error, at 23:11 the leveling gems section. All the names are blue, which I'm guessing would be the color of the gem.

If you're looking for a cheap DPS increase that will also help mana sustain, the new Replica Lavianga's Spirit mana flask is a decent holdover until you can get a cinderswallow. It gives me about 20% increased tooltip DPS from the mana cost increase alone, but offsets itself by increasing mana recovery as well. It's only like 5c as of this comment, so definitely worth looking into.

Kaj its not great but I’m having a fairly smooth time with arc/archmage right now since I have no mana issues. But I’m only about halfway through the acts
until u get ur archmage support gem, u have no damage at all :)

jlowe92 probably for some QOL, however leveling has been a BREEZE since getting archmage support. Destroying all content easily

Well made guide Esoro, very high quality but I gotta say this. I cant recall last time I had such a horrible early leveling experience. Scion does NOT get Arc at level 12 as you state, so I started with Spark as suggested. First Spark - Arcane surge - added lightning with orb of storms - frostbomb - added lightning to support extra damage. Swapped to Control Destruction from Arcane Surge in act2. Its been horrible, I died 4 times to Weaver, I can't recall last time I died in acts, actually I usually get to late yellow-early red maps before dying at all. I only managed to do Oversoul, because of Eihar. I had to use 3-4 Portals on first encounter with Piety. Couldn't kill a single deli mob without getting slaughtered.
I came to Solaris Temple and stopped last night, was too tilted/triggered/annoyed to continue. Now I slept and I will try agian. Maybe even buy Arc(if I got currency for it) as I decided to play trade because of 3 weeks Flashback. I were quite unlucky with things such as wisdoms, linked gear etc. But tbh, doubt it would have changed much. In the end all I can say so far, do not start with Spark.
Edit1: So after I got arc from a friend, going into Solaris Temple, I can say it didn't help much. Been a horrible grind, now tho as I finished Act4, and got most things setup decent gear from drops. Malachai was fine and the build is starting to work. But been a struggle, with breaks because of frustration, and I usually don't get frustrated that easily.
Maxed out the build, kill everything 1 shot, can even do hotgm, dont want to play anymore beceause everything just dies. 10/10 can check poe.ninja : dimensionblades

saimon mana regen, get the mana potion with continous mana, and if you dont have the chest get mind of matter

this is the most squish build i ever play
Currently playing this build in Ritual. It so tanky for how much damage it deals. Managed to hit 98 the other day. Never killed bosses so easily. This guide is great! ^^
Also small tip to people playing it; not sure if Esoro mentions it but bind Arcane Cloak to your left click. You can still move as usual but it'll auto cast it for you.

@@rpemulis It can take a fair beating, but you're not immortal. There's not a lot of boss mechanics that will kill you. If you don't get oneshot you tend to regen your hp/mana back to full very fast.
