Ive already ordered the RealAcc one just because of price and high gain combination. I would def. buy the far view one but if I dont know whether I like it or not....its too much to pay 50$ for 20$ open source antenna that I can do by my self and I wont possibly like.
I dont understand how you guys missed the terminator. Its written right at the start of the product description with RED....and then also as sort of a warning on the antenna that you need it :D IMHO its hard to miss (edit: oh yea aomway has no note - Ive got realacc)
Hey! Thanks for doing a comparison and showing just how well the triple feed works! We do need to say though that the "Triple Feed Patch" was designed by Maarten Beart and Robin Theuins" they are the heros that really deserve the credit and appreciation, in our opinion they have totally reshaped FPV! One thing to note is the the length of the extension, in our experience the shorter extension will decrease performance a little bit because of the proximity to the goggles, we do offer a longer 45mm extension but for us it gets a little too long and cumbersome when using a neck strap. Thanks and happy flying guys!
Is it also possible the centre tuned frequency (sorry i don't know the technical term) was closer to the quads output freq. in this test? I've heard there are some factors that can alter the accuracy which i imagine could be beneficial depending on what frequency in use ...
I use the Far View tripple feed patch with the short extension and I really like it. I'll have to try the longer extension at some point to see if there is much of a performance increase. I am really curious of how much better the 150mm triple feed patch performs compared to these models.
+UAVFutures - far view didn't design these a guy called Maarten Baert(sp?) designed these and open sourced thme. Same as the pagoda. The guy who designs them does not sell them. He just gives away the design files. They're great antannaes.
Precisely right. PiroFlipRC and Race412 make versions as well. I have the Race412, and they're absolutely brilliant - they pair great with the Pagoda antennas from, you guessed it, the brilliant mind of Maarten Baert. (The triple feed is a collaboration between Maarten and Robin Theunis)
I just bought the Race 412 and the coaxal cable that it came with will not tighten on the one end, making it so the antenna spins freely when mounted on my googles. Is that normal? Or should I get them to send me a new cable? Also the antenna is not labled which side is left or right? Does your cable allow the antenna to spin when mounted?
Hey quick note about the Aomway version, they took the required designer annotations off so in other words by doing so they are claiming that they designed it and are not giving credit to the designer! And taking a closer look it looks like they have used the male SMA connectors which will not allow you to get a dummy load!
Well I would pick the Realacc one out of the two by the video feeds. As usual guys very helpful video to keep us informed. Thank you guys for all that you do, we know its not easy :)
I am in the USA and have been buying Far Vew Pagodas for a while, so when I saw their patch I was like... Sweet I'm in! I have been loving it since I got it, also the shipping was fast! Especially since it's free😀 Thanks Stewart, you keep on rocking it!
UPDATE: I figured out why the image is in 3D. The two sides are not synced up perfectly. One side is one frame behind. This allows each eye to have a slightly different view especially when the done is turning. If your goggles have two images it would be possible for goggle manufactures to allow a one or two frame delay on one eye's display. This would allow you to fly in 3D. It would be great if the goggles could figure out if you are turning to the right or left and and delay the appropriate side to get maximum 3D effect. :) ORIGINAL POST: OK this is impossible but if you cross your eyes to overlap the side by side flight footage the image becomes 3D. Now this should be impossible if the quad only had one camera. To make the image easier on your eyes don't view it in full screen mode and hold up both your hands so your right hand covers the right half for your right eye and your left hand is covering the left half for your left eye. Basically you are looking at the left image with your right eye and right image with your left eye. This is what crossing your eyes do. The only way we should see 3D is if either the drone had two cameras or the editing software used did an algorithm to turn it into 3D.
Hey Stu I know there is a ton of new stuff out but you should do a shout out to BetaFlight and tell ppl to support their firmware like the do products. maybe show old vids with issues like prop wash and vibes I pitched the idea to JB but so many comments in all boxes. its a major part of the kwad most ppl just forget is so good and adding features every week we couldn't really fly without it. Maybe just a tech Tuesday or in any episode. keep up the great reviews and teaching
Realacc going on backorder in 3...2...1... But on a different note: it would have been great if you had compared them to a traditional directional antenna, so we have something to compare the new patches to.
UAVfutures I like and fly FarVew, including that patch, but the did not come up with the patch. Martrn Baerts did. It is open source and all brands can make and sell the design. And the original design actually has the four ears/tabs like on the RealAcc. Probably why it works better.
A little late, I know. Question. Would putting a terminator on your goggles and your antennas unused coax terminals have stopped signal phasing in both?
Couldnt wait on your review I've had one for avout 2 months now. Right after marten Bart released the design had a buddy at rjx start on production. Absolutely love mine. Way better than rhe aomway patch!
I think you really need the antennas on the same head to ensure they always point the same way. I find myself trying to point my head in the direction of my quad when flying FPV to lessen dropouts.....then again I'm only running a 25 mw trans on my micros.
They are both great antennas but I don't have enough money to care about brand price matters to me . thats just me. Thanks Stew and Trev. CHEERS I am not a happy camper right now I lost one of my race quads two days ago, but I am still searching the area Happy flying.
Apart from that ridiculous aluminium frame realacc make some great products. I use a realacc pagoda and realacc triple feed patch on my goggles and i think they work amazingly
I won’t buy until I see an advantage. I can get a good standard patch for $6 US. How do these compare to standard patch? Increased range would be the only driver for me. If I want to switch antennas I can do that now without added cost.
Heres one! Can both antennas be connected as a center of signal mass? My hubsan zino pro has 2 5.8ghz connections on the controller in which I do not know if its RH or LH. Some also are saying that you need a 50ohm load on the unused side.
You need to do a video on these patches if you can point them in two different directions on the diversity setup and see if you can get like super clear and all directions seeing as its diversity it would be able to pick up the areas of the weakest spot of the other one and maybe the polarisation would be overlapping in areas where one's week could you try that out curious
it was a very informative video and I did learn plenty. I'm a newbie in drone flying and became interested in aftermarket antenna's when researching goggles for flying drones. It didn't occur to me that both drone and goggles could benefit from aftermarket antenna's. 1st, let me describe what equip. Question : What is your opinion on this technique ? (benefits, pro's / con's) ? 3rd, all that said, what is your antenna recommendations for setting up my 1st drone system, (goggles & drone) as I have described above ? Thanks you very much for your generous consideration, sincerely ............................
How they perform against the Menace invader? Are they a lot better? Is it really worth to put that big antenna on this goggles or menace invader will be good enough? Thanks in advance!!!
I just bought the race 412 triple feed patch. It was $20.00. The problem I have is the cable that came with it will not tighten so that the patch antenna is loose and turns freely when on the googles. Is this something to worry about, because it seems as if it should stay solid on it and not turn? Makes me nervous that it is not getting the contact it needs?
I have one made by RJX which does not include a dummy load. I have some sma adapters laying around. Can I use one to make a dummy load? i'm assuming since this is a receiver, the resistance of the dummy load isn't important. So I should be able to close the loop on an sma adapter and that will serve that same purpose.
I'm pissed as hell. I ordered the aomway version and the linked dummy plug. It doesn't fit. I can't find one that fits. And I can't find an adapter for the linked one. Should have gone for the original. Don't make my mistake!
In general, both are manufacturing antennas that are not that bad so I would stick to the paper and get the realacc one as it offers better gain (on paper (I would get the far view if I wouldnt have to pay 5 time the price of realacc)).
UAVfutures Love your content please don't stop, Tech Tuesdays are awesome helps with us that are very new to the hobby, also who is the artist of the music in the last part of your video would like to listen to more
I'm going to assume the far view had more directional gain than the real acc. But you never gave them a chance to fly long distance to check this. The real acc was better around the beam though....

Hey guys. Is it a right position for patch antenna? There is no information at manual which side is diversity side and I always connect my patch antenna to the wrong connector:))
I am not sure if you are talking about which terminal to connect to on the goggles? If so, it doesn't matter as both terminals are working in diversity. This means, whichever antenna is getting the best reception, will be the one selected via the diversity receiver. Hope that helps!
Sh FPV doesn't matter you can use either side. There's not really such a thing as the diversity side except for with th kafir get, and that's really only because only one of those revievers has a screen and controls.
Would you get one? if so which one?
Farview version - bit.ly/Farview

I just ordered the Fairview.
Thanks for the review. I watch all your videos.
I bought the cheap one and didn’t realize the dummy load was separate.. 👎
I need a couple of them so the next one will be the Farview
I dont understand how you guys missed the terminator. Its written right at the start of the product description with RED....and then also as sort of a warning on the antenna that you need it :D IMHO its hard to miss (edit: oh yea aomway has no note - Ive got realacc)

Really like the casual nature in the final thoughts scene. You guys seemed happy with em both.
You have the best taste in music of any TH-camr I frequent, and I always learn something anytime I tune in to your channel. Many thanks, brother.

Thanks Stewart, you keep on rocking it!
I have been running Far Vew antennas for the last couple month and I love them. That's all I run now.
stu it would be so cool to chill with you dude. such a great energy.
I have had the patch for 6 months....I have never used a dumbie load. Now that I know this Im excited to install the dumbie and see the difference!
How about a long range test with clear line of sight, and compared to the Aomway 7 turn helical they sell for about the same price?
Have a Farvew pagoda and patch in the mail already! Can't wait to try them
Very cool. I just got mine today but had no idea about the 50 ohm dummy load! So now I have to order that. Thanks

I wish aomway would send you a diamond patch ant
I love the Farvew pagodas. This patch looks pretty interesting.
I think they both seem exactly the same to me. Love your channel and videos.
Great to see some flying at the end, I'm singing up for one of those antennas asap! :-) :-) :-)

I'm going to buy the Realacc. I like the reception more then the Far Vew.
Make sure you grab a terminator with it
@@alexroberts6542 Now arrive with it.But you need a 45° adapter to use it.

me. Thanks Stew and Trev. CHEERS
I am not a happy camper right now I lost one of my race quads two days ago, but I am still searching the area Happy flying.
i use a 5 turn helical. sits nicely between a 3 turn and 8 turn.
the lhcp and rhcp sounds good tho
+UAVFutures Thanks for the review, Stew! What kind of VTX were you using and at what power?
Thanks Stu just ordered a spedix 30a 4in1, red bottom emax and floss frame for my first build ever😊 any hints
Apart from that ridiculous aluminium frame realacc make some great products. I use a realacc pagoda and realacc triple feed patch on my goggles and i think they work amazingly
Great stuff !!! Yes !! Antenna, VTX's and most of all Goggles!!! But for tech Tuesday, quick intro, how about cam control, via the CL Racing F4 ?
Hey Stu, have you had problems with the power cable on your commanders? I noticed your cable has a DIY connector on it.
Great video, two great antenna. Roughly what range were you flying at would also be of interest.
I won’t buy until I see an advantage.
I can get a good standard patch for $6 US. How do these compare to standard patch? Increased range would be the only driver for me. If I want to switch antennas I can do that now without added cost.
J Renwick what's a patch you've been using?
As I’m still an owner of an Aomway what would you recommend today for the best long range antenna that will work with theses goggles
Heres one! Can both antennas be connected as a center of signal mass? My hubsan zino pro has 2 5.8ghz connections on the controller in which I do not know if its RH or LH. Some also are saying that you need a 50ohm load on the unused side.

Thanks for tech Tuesday Stu.
I can't wait until everone is strapping on a Dalek Eye
Stew, thanks for all the videos. What is the foam on your Aomway? Looks thicker than the one on mine.
Pagodas on the 2 vr007's and 2 of the wizards? Thanks again Stew for your time. Keep up the stellar work.
Def keen on more of these
it was a very informative video and I did learn plenty. I'm a newbie in

researching goggles for flying drones.
It didn't occur to me that both drone and goggles could benefit from aftermarket antenna's.
1st, let me describe what equip. I am interested in purchasing :
Drone : Xiaomi FIMI A3 5.8G 1KM FPV With 2-axis Gimbal 1080P Camera GPS RC Drone Quadcopter RTF - 5.8G FPV
Goggles : New V2.0 Version FXT VIPER 5.8GHz Diversity HD FPV Goggles

How they perform against the Menace invader?

what is the best onde for eachine ev800d ?
I just bought the race 412 triple feed patch. It was $20.00. Is this something to worry about, because it seems as if it should stay solid on it and not turn? Makes me nervous that it is not getting the contact it needs?
This video is kinda back to your route's. Great explanation and review. Keep up the great work Stew (:

I have the raelacc and very happy white it
You can also download the files and make it at a local PCB Workshop. Could by great how to video
Great test Stu👍
I'm pissed as hell. I ordered the aomway version and the linked dummy plug. It doesn't fit. I can't find one that fits. And I can't find an adapter for the linked one. Should have gone for the original. Don't make my mistake!
Do you have to run. A dummy load on the other end ...what benefits does it do
What's foam are you using for the Aomway.
How do the work without the terminator.. My realacc came without and seem to work amazingly well
is there any DIY method for the dummy connector? im a cheap bastard and dont wanna order one at this moment.
Ah I see you have the cyclone 5051s how are you liking them
Did you test with terminator on them? Or without?
Hi Stu, how do you rate these compared to the helical antennae?
Aomway has the same version. I wonder which one is better between the Realacc and Aomway.
In general, both are manufacturing antennas that are not that bad so I would stick to the paper and get the realacc one as it offers better gain (on paper (I would get the far view if I wouldnt have to pay 5 time the price of realacc)).
kennuardo hartinger Thanks.
Get the farvew kids. All their antennas are amazing. Quality and customer service are the best
hi mate, I enjoy your vids
UAVfutures and I yours brother!
And I enjoy both your vids ;)
HipoxiK lol thanks brother. I really like Stu and his channel. Great attitude and fun
I don’t have a dummy load but is iT possible to just directly solder a 50ohm resister to one side because most dummy Loads are 50ohm (i only use rhcp)
Video Ariel systems 10db crosshairs? Would love to hear a review on them
UAVfutures Love your content please don't stop, Tech Tuesdays are awesome helps with us that are very new to the hobby, also who is the artist of the music in the last part of your video would like to listen to more
How about a video to improve the Goggle video feed, for long range?
What's going on with Grumpy's goggles?
Amazon has these dummy load male adapter with faster shipping if you bought bangood and dont feel like waiting
Can those work fine if on the quad there is a linear? Or better what?
Since they look to perform pretty much the same then I'd buy the cheapest :)
Hello! At what frequency do you fly? Thank you!
I'm going to assume the far view had more directional gain than the real acc. But you never gave them a chance to fly long distance to check this. The real acc was better around the beam though....
best example that good antennas dont need to be expensive
Got a no name version for 5 dollars incl. shipping and it is outperforming my menace rc invader even haha. Awesome product :)
As a matter of principle I always go for the products that are not knocked off by other manufacturers. Looks like I’ll be spending some more money on another patch now. Thanks Stew.
realacc or aomways aren knockoffs of farvews design... in fact its an opensource design from another guy who does have no relationships with farvew... i would agree that there a lot of copycats but in this case u can just buy the cheapest without feeling bad... not to say that farview isnt a company that is worth supporting.
Aaron Rogers - That open source point wasn’t missed on me. I was merely referring to my principles when making purchases. Those other companies you’ve mentioned have been guilty in the past of ripping off others designs and for that reason, I’ll always go for the company that makes a real effort In moving the hobby forwards without compromising on quality.
Does the cable have to be than long or can it be shortened ?
Aim in real version just ordered it thanks brother
I decided by color. Had to fit my goggle's color ☺
Skip to minute 4:40 for actual test
great explanation! I'm new at this stuff and your videos are really helping out!
I got the $12 one it works great 🤙
Stu, what’s a good FatShark style goggle to transition from box style with?
@ELEV8 FPV
Aomway are great, but the foam padding is crap and falls apart (build quality not the best?). Skyzone is my choice, but if you have a big nose, you'll have to DIY some foam to make them comfortable as there isn't much nose clearance . Apart from that, the skyzones are amazing. If you want to spend too much money, go for fatshark. If you are on a budget and don't need DVR, check out FLYKEY RAFALE V1. Or if you are super budget, Eachine EV100 is entry level.
HD3 or wait for the new skyzones and check them out
You forgot to link a dummy load terminator :(
Was this on 600mW?
Can you review the frsky QX7s looks really cool
he already did I think
tarico the one and only, no that was the horus x10
Aiden Porter your confused he hasn’t reviewed the x10 yet
Whats is range this antenna?
I'd get the far view one if I got one. But I don't think it's for me just yet
which antenna on the quad? vtx output power??
thanx
Hey dose that drop out even matter,,, do I have to have it
What antenna was used on talon?
Good. Thank you. I didn't know that. It's helpful.
Gadday andrew ,thanks a lot another great review..!
If i bought the acc. How would i then improve the range 5fold?
Would else do i need to further boost the range
Just get both and swap around when 1 not working so well XP
Radiation?
This is good content! Thanks for this!!!
Do you now any good drones that are cheap but still good
Anton Schall look at his TH-cam page. 1/2 of his videos are about what you asked.
me too thank you
Batman would choose the Far View one, hehe :)
