- This is my first shot at making a PvP video. The clips you will see were taken in the span of 2-3 weeks on Heartseeker US.
I appreciate everyone that made this video possible, friends and adversaries alike. No hard feelings to anyone featured in these clips, on the contrary, thank you for making the game what it is today. The purpose behind this was just entertainment.

How are your traps so long after scatter?? Mine are only 10 seconds due to DR so I have adjusted my strategy to scatter into grenade after trapping.
Also I used to fd+trap manually until I came across a setting you can change using a console command. Change the “spellqueuewindow” settings which are default 400ms to anything under 150ms (global cooldown) that is higher than your latency. This allows more commands to be processed by the game servers within a global cooldown which was the main issue with the macros due to spell batching.
Other than making sure to use the last rank, I’m not sure. Nothing special, no talents either.
Rly sick video. There's a LOOOONNG thread about fg death + trap being bugged for hunter, despite /petpassive and correct macro, but it seems to be working fine in your video. What is your experience with it? How often does that bug occur roughly? The bug is that fd sometimes doesn't drop combat so can't freezing trap.
Hey, good question. So I actually tried using a macro while I was leveling and found that it bugged all the time. Because of it, I started doing my traps manually. If you pay close attention, on every standard trap in the video I do 4 actions: q for scatter shot, ctrl+2 for per follow, e for feign death, and finally x for freezing trap (or whichever trap is appropriate). I’ve found this is the only way for traps to never fail. In certain fights (warriors mostly) you can get away with wing clipping into FD + trap without using scatter shot, but again, I do it manually. It feels like a lot of microing at first, but you get used to it. I hope this helps!

You NEVER get the bug now? Is there a particular timing for it or do you just press them all as fast as you can in that order? Hunter was the class I wanted to play the most, but judging from the bug post it seemed like people tried everything but it still wouldn't work and fd+trap is so core for hunters., so they seemed broken. So makes me happy to hear! You lay some really good traps before combat too, so that's always an option too I guess.
Yeah I imagine scatter before has to be an necessity against rogues in particular.
No problem! Yeah no, it never fails if you do it manually. It’s not so much about the speed of the sequence, but more so that you do it in the correct order. The only time it will fail is if you forget to tell your pet to back off or follow, or rarely if another enemy hits you with an instant cast that the server batches late. Meaning it was cast prior to you FDing, but it registers afterward. It’s pretty fail proof. The last thing to add is that sometimes it does take a second or a second and a half for combat to break (which feels like forever) but it eventually drops. I agree with you that a without the capability to trap mid fight, the hunter class is kind of broken. I had the same reservations as you prior to rolling one, but I decided to give it a shot regardless and I definitely don’t regret it. I encourage you to give it a try! How are you getting the scatter/trap combo? Are you throwing in feign death as well?
