A clear violation of the 5th amendment taking clause. When the city refuses to stop these illegal activities, then they’re complicit and should be held accountable.
The cars were off the road. Not driven and do not pose a threat. This sounds eerily familiar to the predictive policing another city just got in trouble for!
Four years ago, my mother's car was in danger of being towed as a result of having an expired license plate. It was parked in our driveway, on private property. The car was not a derelict. My mom had was hard of hearing, with the onset of dementia. UCity Police Dept did post a sticker on the front door, warning us of an eventual tow if she didn't comply. I didn't know they could come onto private property.
at this point i would tell them "seeing that you stole my cars and you are telling me i have to pay a steep fine to get them back ... seeing i can not pay your shakedown price ... you can keep them if you pay me for them if not ... then i want whom ever in jail for theft of my property"
The city about 30 miles from me lost their contract with their local towing company a few years back. The towing company cut all ties with the city after a couple of their tow trucks got shot up because of tows done on the cities behalf. The tow truck companies doing these tows for the city got to remember people get mad about the bad illegal tows will not only go after the city and they'll go after the tow truck company as well. All tow truck companies need to rethink the contract when working with the law enforcement
so you cant drive your car if its not licensed and you cant leave it in your own driveway till you get it licensed. DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS
No she wasn't if the cars had plates that are registered to the cars the cop trespassed and then violated her 4th amendment rights by illegal search and seizure😂 no probable cause to even run the plates @@jamesfields7
@@jamesfields7By that metric, if I have a project car on my property, it’s up for towing at any time. That’s like saying any house that is getting renovated is up for demolition. That is what you are trying to say, right???

"Plates on the vehicles"? With CURRENT tags/registration? Bet not. And three vehicles as a single-adult household? That being said as long as the vehicles are on private property (not blocking the sidewalk) and not leaking/etc then she has every right to STORE (not DRIVE) the vehicles.
If they tried that on.a Car Lot - unplated undrivable for sale cars - that tow company boss & his city co-conspiring crooks would be rounded up & taken for a drive to the Junkyard car crusher
The city doesn't make money from towing fees, the tow company does. But, the cuty fors make money ($50-$150/ day) on impound/ storage fees. And if you cant pay it, they sell your car at an auction.
What State is this? Unless you're Repoing my cars, which ain't happening because they're paid for, you just might lose your subscription to oxygen. Depending on the time of day. Private Property means you have zero leeway to put hands on anything for one, and 2, I'll only ask you to leave once. Then it's a toss up. Who arrives first?
Might as well just dump the city their ticket fines with pennis , dimes , nickles and quarters since y'all wanna play around with saying the cars aren't licensed and have no plates so if you wanna charge thousands of fines i would pay using pennies and dimes
Why would they tow the cars, even if the tags were expired? I know the laws are different depending on where you live, but unless you're caught driving those cars with expired tags they should be left alone. Even if you're caught, a ticket should be written up and if driving elsewhere, towed to her home at her cost.
She can sue for violating 5th amendment due process of law it state thay can't take private property ment for pluplic use without just computation mean8ng thay have to pay her to tow it she can sue for rights violation cus there state law don't process over rights and 2 its ur property u can put ur car without it registered or title or plats we had car that was register but no plats so we told just turn it around
This happens to a lot of people. Happened to me and I'm mostly white(Cherokee). Except I caught the tow driver when he tried to do it to me a second time. I told him to put my vehicle back or I'm calling the cops. He put it back .

That may be considered theft from private property.
this should be felony theft.

Department needed a couple more cars. The city doesn’t profit? Maybe not, but guaranteed that someone does.

Everyone attacking her about having her vehicles registered, she said they had plates. No mention of expired tags from anyone.
With current tabs or not, parked in MY personal property, you'll be met with a 12g...
They saw all the car thieves getting away without punishment so they figured to give it a try themselves.

I know in the various municipalities where I have lived, an unregistered uninsured car is considered abandoned and is a code violation.

If someone is willing to take a life, they probably won't be as willing to steal ur stuff.
Towing & storage of autos is a racket.
FYI , City takes in millions a year in illeagel towing , they shair 50% of the towing fees.,
It is theft nothing else!!

Systematic racism-
Being required to register your vehicles and carry insurance on them isn't "racism"...lol
Many cities don’t allow multiple unregistered and/or junk cars on your property.
Look up black laws dictionary definition of registration. They turned ownership into a joke.
Owning a car while Black.

The city still should have at least gave her a written warning ahead of time. Not just show up and tow her property. This America not Russia!!!!
