A man of such immense and varied talents. A true genius. I love his voice, his writing and his guitar playing. He was one of the voices of my generation, one of those whom when ai hear him, instantly evokes a strong and intense response, a bond to the time of my teens. 💕
Ok, he was a great musician and incredible guitarist but, we must don't forget that he regularly hit his first wife. The mother of son. Having too much to drink or being too stoned is not an excuse.
As I remember, at the time, Stephen would be known among friends as "Steve" Stills. Nobody hasn't called him Steve for decades, and I think he wouldn't tolerate it anymore. I never met him in person. I played a good set with ex wife Veronique, a very good singer and pianist at the time... Unfortunately, I wasn't booked the day he came and jammed on drums. Still regret it..
This is right before his greatest acheivement. Manassas. That album, done by any other person would have landed that band in the HOF. Still(s), they need to be there. Even though he is already in there with two other bands.
Aah là là, Pop 2 !! les souvenirs... Il fut un temps où il n'y avait que ça à se mettre sous la dent. Mais c'était magnifique ! La voix de Patrice Blanc-Francard !!
Pop 2 !!! Quelle excellente émission qui m'a permis de découvrir Family avec Robert Chapman, David Bowie en concert avant la sortie d'Hunky Dory et tant d'autres.
@claudiagibsonmusic I appreciated the first part of your comment. The second part was utterly unnecessary. I wish people would demonstrate old fashioned boundaries and the restraint that came along with them. In this way the Internet is a very damaging instrument. People can look things up, and then regardless of how personal or accurate the “information”, then tear into people’s personal and private lives. It’s unseemly.
+paulo emilio santos The song is Do For The Others. It's on Stills' first solo album recorded in 1970, and it's his observation about David Crosby's grief after his girlfriend was killed in a car accident.
@@russallert how did you get that from such a little sample. I love that song( 2nd track, side one)but didn't recognize it at all here. You certainly have won Name That Tune.
4&20 is one of the greatest songs ever.
I’ve always been “in love” with his voice. And his intelligence.

He talks here about “the kids” at the time being on the same wavelength. What a difference compared to today.
this is a man that is top shelf

Oui, on était vraiment en manque de ce côté là en France. Il y avait eu l'éphémère Bouton Rouge de Pierre Lattès et puis Pop 2.
Stephen stills comes across somewhat charming
Toujours un plaisir. Sous côté.
Wrote some of the best Lyrics/AMEN/Aloha
Such a huge talent, so original, and really was badly affected by too many years of booze, cocaine and rock star life.
...AND women who left him!!!
We each do it our own way

He has discussed it himself in interviews.
Stephen has said the same thing about himself... too much whiskey and other such stuff. @@pacificoast82

@@plantfeeder6677 I also recognize the song and know the story behind it. Sad, but true.
Utopia . Everything is money.
